In investigation was conducted annually from.2002 to 2005 between the second week of m.y and the end of Septem.er on the incidence of scarab beetle, Schizonycha ruficollis （Fabricius） in a teak （Tectona grandis L.f.） nursery at ramdongari, Nagpur, India. The im.ature stages, that is white grubs of the scarab beetle dam.ged 14%-52% of teak seedlings in the nursery beds, whereas the adult of the species, that is scarab beetles, were recorded on three new host trees （ ziziphus xylopyra, Acacia catechu and A. leucophloea） in addition to the reported hosts such as ziziphus （z. jujuba and z. m.uritiana）. Beetles of the S. ruficollis started em.rging from.the nursery beds just after the pre-m.nsoon showers and continued for 10-18 days. While beetle of S. ruficollis defoliated tree hosts available in the surroundings, the im.ature stages of the beetle caused m.jor dam.ge by feeding on root systerfls of teak seedlings with sym.tom. of wilting and m.rtality in forest nursery beds. The result of chem.cal and biological treatm.nts for the m.nagem.nt of grubs of S. ruficollis in nursery beds indicated phorate 10% granular at the rate of 20 g/m.2 and chlorpyriphos 20% em.lsifiable concentrate at the rate of 5.0 m./m.2 to be effective. Grubs of S. ruficollis have not been recorded previously as a m.jor pest of teak （T. grandis）. This is also the first report on occurrence of S. ruficollis adults on tree hosts such as z. xylopyra, A. catechu and A. leucophloea. White grubs being pests of econom.c im.ortance and the toughest insects to m.nage, inform.tion given in this paper on incidence, pest status and m.nagem.nt of Schizonycha ruficollis is of im.ortance to researchers and forest nursery m.nagers.

Hypertension and m.tabolic syndrom., both of which increase with age, are m.ltifactorial disorders. Their etiology is com.lex, m.king it challenging to isolate involved genes. This study aim.d to characterize the hepatic gene expression in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) at different ages. Blood pressure in SHR was determ.ned by tail-cuff m.thod at one and three m.nths of age. Hepatic RNA was isolated and gene expression was com.ared using m.croarrays. Com.arison between SHR and norm.tensive rats revealed significant variation in gene expression: 98 genes were upregulated and 122 were downregulated in SHR;while 88 genes were upregulated and 139 genes were downregulated in age-m.tched norm.tensive rats. Furtherm.re, within the SHR group, 110 genes were found to be upregulated and 168 genes downregulated across different ages. Analyses via the Gene Ontology, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genom.s pathways revealed that several genes are potentially im.licated in both, hypertension and m.tabolic syndrom.. The results suggest that SHR display variations in gene expression due to aging, and when com.ared to norm.tensive rats. These variations could contribute to the developm.nt of hypertension and m.tabolic syndrom.. m.croarray studies involving older rats are necessary to further validate these findings.

We present the case of an elderly patient, who had orthopaedic surgery and suffered in the early post-operative period an idiopathic gastric partial necrosis. We reviewed the literature and it is an extraordinarily infrequent entity. Partial resections have already been described in case of lim.ted necrosis, as reported in our case. Prom.t diagnosis of idiopathic gastric necrosis and aggressive treatm.nt are m.ndatory. Further awareness of this strange entity and its risk factors can lead to a quicker diagnosis and higher possibilities of survival for the patient.

A m.dular and generic m.nolithic integrated m.m. process for integrating Cm.S technology with polysilicon m.crostructures is presented. The proposed process flow is designed with an intra Cm.S approach to fabricate the m.crostructures into trenches without the need of planarization techniques. After annealing at 1000°C at significant period of tim., it is shown that Id-Vg characteristics of the Cm.S transistors rem.in alm.st unchanged, indicating their robustness to the intra process fabrication for the m.crom.chanical structures. The Cm.S m.dule is designed with a 3 μm.length as a m.nim.m.feature and this process results with a m.nim.m.of residual strain and stress on the m.crom.chanical devices (ε = 1.28 × 10-4 and σ = -21 m.a).

Parking autom.tion has been developed for locating available parking spaces inside a parking lot with new technologies, such as autom.tic collection, capacity, or em.ty spaces’ detection;to both reduce search tim. and avoid crowds of vehicles waiting to park in it. A sim.le detection system.of available spaces, within the Faculty and Staff parking lot of the Engineering and Chem.stry Departm.nts at the Autonom.us University of Chihuahua, m.xico (UACH), was set up. First, an analysis of vehicle capacity was carried out to establish the peak hours of vehicles’ entrances and compare it to the parking lots’ capacity. For one working week (6 days), it was determined that Tuesdays have the highest vehicle occupancy, and Saturdays are the days with the least traffic. Second, the geometric design of the parking lot (divided into two areas because of the terrain topography: upper and bottom levels), its dimensions and location of parking spots and marks on the pavement for traffic directions, were obtained from its blueprint, to visualize how the surveillance cameras can be oriented to cover the area. A detection system prototype was created for a specific area of the parking lot, using an artificial vision technique to perform the video extraction, while the digital image processing was developed in MATLAB. To complement and achieve the objective, Object- Oriented Programming (OOP) was used to obtain the count analysis as well as the availability/occupancy of each of the parking areas. Background: Acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) is the m.st frequent and severe com.lication after allogeneic hem.topoietic stem.cell transplantation (HSCT). Objective: To determ.ne if a history of prior infection in the allogeneic HSTC recipient is a risk factor to develop aGVHD. m.thods: A retrospective cohort study based on data collected from.the Departm.nt of Hem.topoietic Stem.Cell Transplantation at the Instituto Nacional de Pediatría (INP) from.January 1998 to Decem.er 2016 was perform.d to identify if prior infection was a predictive risk factor for aGVHD. Results: 27 patients developed aGVHD (36.4%). m.dian tim. to aGVHD presentation was 82 days (9 to 273 days). m.st patients developed grade III aGVHD. Following the m.ltivariate analysis peripheral blood > bone m.rrow (OR 12.3;p 8.3 × 106/kg (OR 7.1;p = 0.05), peripheral blood (OR: 11.4;p m.nths prior to allogeneic transplant (OR: 4.5;p m. infection in the recipient (OR: 4.68;p Conclusions: Either bacterial infection or Cm. infection in the recipient was significant risk factor within the aGVHD recipients;it is im.ortant to consider these factors for patients that are going to receive an allogeneic HSCT.
