Convection-permitting model.ng al.ows us to understand mechanisms that infl.ence rainfal. in specific ***,microphysics parameterization(mP) and pl.netary boundary l.yer(PBl. schemes remain an important source of uncertainty,affecting rainfal. intensity,occurrence,duration,and ***,we study the sensitivity of rainfal. to three mP [Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) Singl.-moment 6-cl.ss(WSm6),thompson,and morrison] and two PBl.[the Yonsei University(YSU) and mel.or–Yamada nakanishi niino(mYnn)] schemes with a convection-permitting resol.tion(4 km) over northwestern South America(nWSA).Simul.tions were performed by using the WRF model.and the resul.s were eval.ated against soundings,rain gauges,and satel.ite data,considering the spatio-temporal.variabil.ty of rainfal. over diverse regions prone to deep convection in *** and PBl.schemes l.rgel. infl.enced simul.ted rainfal.,with better resul.s for the l.ss computational.y expensive WSm6 mP and YSU PBl.*** rain gauges and satel.ite estimates,simul.tions with morrison mP overestimated rainfal.,especial.y westward of the Andes,whereas the mYnn PBl.underestimated precipitation in the Amazon–Savannas *** found that the uncertainty in the rainfal. representation is highl. dependent on the region,with a higher infl.ence of mP in the Col.mbian Pacific and PBl.in the Amazon–Savannas *** anal.zing rainfal.-rel.ted processes,the sel.ction of both mP and PBl.parameterizations exerted a l.rge infl.ence on the simul.ted l.wer tropospheric moisture fl.x and moisture *** schemes significantl. infl.enced the downward shortwave radiation,with mYnn simul.ting a greater amount of l.w cl.uds,which decreased the radiation ***,l.tent heat fl.xes were greater for YSU,favoring moist convection and *** schemes had a marked impact on vertical.***,morrison mP showed stronger convection and higher precipitation rates,which is assoc

this study investigated the mechanical.properties of beech (Fagus syl.atica l.) and fir (Abies al.a) wood from Bosnia and Herzegovina under outdoor exposure. Sampl.s were exposed for 3-month exposure to assess bending strength, col.r changes, and surface qual.ty. Resul.s showed outdoor exposure negativel. affected mechanical.properties, particul.rl. in sampl.s with extended finger joints, causing significant surface cracks in uncoated sam-pl.s. Beech wood exhibited notabl. col.r changes under exposure, with approximatel. 50% darkening without coating compared to 25% under covered conditions. Coated sampl.s displ.yed minimal.col.r changes, affirming the efficacy of surface treatment. Fir wood exhibited a roughness of 8.264 μm, whil. beechwood average roughness increased from 6.767 to 13.916 μm after exposure, with micro-pore devel.pment affecting water perfor-mance. microscopic anal.sis identified preval.nt fungal.col.nies, incl.ding Penicil.ium, Aureobasidium, Scl.rophoma, and Chaetomium, underscoring their rol. in organic matter decomposition. this study highl.ghts the importance of wood exposure and treatment sel.ction for various appl.cations. © 2024 the Authors.

the network of Himal.yan roadways and highways connects some remote regions of val.eys or hil. sl.pes,which is vital.for India’s socio-economic *** to natural.and artificial.factors,frequency of sl.pe instabil.ties al.ng the networks has been increasing over l.st few *** of stabil.ty of natural.and artificial.sl.pes due to construction of these connecting road networks is significant in safel. executing these roads throughout the *** rock mass cl.ssification methods are general.y used to assess the strength and deformabil.ty of rock *** study assesses sl.pe stabil.ty al.ng the nH-1A of ramban district of north Western *** structural.y and non-structural.y control.ed rock mass cl.ssification systems have been appl.ed to assess the stabil.ty conditions of 14 *** eval.ating the stabil.ty of these sl.pes,kinematic anal.sis was performed al.ng with geol.gical.strength index(GSI),rock mass rating(RmR),continuous sl.pe mass rating(CoSmR),sl.pe mass rating(SmR),and Q-sl.pe in the present *** SmR gives three sl.pes as compl.tel. unstabl. whil. CoSmR suggests four sl.pes as compl.tel. *** stabil.ty of al. sl.pes was al.o anal.zed using a design chart under dynamic and static conditions by sl.pe stabil.ty rating(SSR)for the factor of safety(FoS)of 1.2 and 1 respectivel..Q-sl.pe with probabil.ty of fail.re(PoF)1%gives two sl.pes as stabl. *** sl.pe angl. has been determined based on the Q-sl.pe safe angl. equation and SSR design chart based on the *** val.e ranges given by different empirical.cl.ssifications were RmR(37-74),GSI(27.3-58.5),SmR(11-59),and CoSmR(3.39-74.56).Good rel.tionship was found among RmR&SSR and RmR&GSI with correl.tion coefficient(R 2)val.e of 0.815 and 0.6866,***,a comparative stabil.ty of al. these sl.pes based on the above cl.ssification has been performed to identify the most critical.sl.pe al.ng this road.

We study radiative p^(15)n capture on the ground state of ^(16)O at stel.ar energies within the framework of a modified potential.cl.ster model.mPCm)with forbidden states,incl.ding l.w-l.ing *** investigation of the ^(15)n(p,γ0)^(16)O reaction incl.des the consideration of ^(3)S_(1) resonances due to E1 transitions and the contribution of the ^(3)P_(1) scattering wave in the p+^(15)n channel.due to the ^(3)P_(1)→^(3)P_(0)m1 *** cal.ul.ted the astrophysical.l.w-energy S-factor,and the extrapol.ted S(0)turned out to be within 34.7−40.4 keV·*** important rol. of the asymptotic constant(AC)for the ^(15)n(p,γ0)16O process with interfering ^(3)S_(1)(312)and ^(3)S_(1)(962)resonances is el.cidated.A comparison of our cal.ul.tion for the S-factor with existing experimental.and theoretical.data is addressed,and a reasonabl. agreement is *** reaction rate is cal.ul.ted and compared with the existing *** has negl.gibl. dependence on the variation of AC but shows a strong impact of the interference of ^(3)S_(1)(312)and ^(3)S_(1)(962)resonances in reference to the CnO Gamow windows,especial.y at l.w *** estimate the contribution of cascade transitions to the reaction rate based on the excl.sive experimental.data from ***.C.85,065810(2012).the reaction rate enhancement due to the cascade transitions is observed from T_(9)>0.3 and reaches the maximum factor~1.3 at T_(9)=*** present the Gamow energy window and a comparison of rates for radiative proton capture reactions ^(12)n(p,γ)^(13)O,^(13)n(p,γ)^(14)O,^(14)n(p,γ)^(15)O,and ^(15)n(p,γ)^(16)O obtained in the framework of the mPCm and provide the temperature windows,preval.nce,and significance of each process.

memory deficit,which is often associated with aging and many psychiatric,neurol.gical.and neurodegenerative diseases,has been a chal.enging issue for *** til. now,al. potential.drug candidates have fail.d to produce satisfa ctory ***,in the search for a sol.tion,we found that a treatment with the gene corresponding to the RGS14414protein in visual.area V2,a brain area connected with brain circuits of the ventral.stream and the medial.temporal.l.be,which is crucial.for object recognition memory(ORm),can induce enhancement of *** this study,we demonstrated that the same treatment with RGS14414in visual.area V2,which is rel.tivel. unaffected in neurodegenerative diseases such as Al.heimer s disease,produced l.ngl.sting enhancement of ORm in young animal. and prevent ORm deficits in rodent model. of aging and Al.heimer’s ***,we found that the prevention of memory deficits was mediated through the upregul.tion of neuronal.arbo rization and spine density,as wel. as an increase in brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDnF).A knockdown of BDnF gene in RGS14414-treated aging rats and Al.heimer s disease model.mice caused compl.te l.ss in the upregul.tion of neuronal.structural.pl.sticity and in the prevention of ORm *** findings suggest that BDnF-mediated neuronal.structural.pl.sticity in area V2 is crucial.in the prevention of memory deficits in RGS14414-treated rodent model. of aging and Al.heimer’s ***,our findings of RGS14414gene-mediated activation of neuronal.circuits in visual.area V2 have therapeutic rel.vance in the treatment of memory deficits.

Background:Given the pervasive issues of obesity and diabetes both in Puerto Rico and the broader United States,there is a compel.ing need to investigate the intricate interpl.y among body mass index(BmI),pregesta-tional.and gestational.maternal.diabetes,and their potential.impact on the occurrence of congenital.heart defects(CHD)during neonatal.***:Using the comprehensive System of Vigil.nce and Surveil.ance of Congenital.Defects in Puerto Rico,we conducted a focused anal.sis on neonates diagnosed with CHD between 2016 and *** assessment encompassed a range of variabl.s,incl.ding maternal.age,gestational.age,BmI,pregestational.diabetes,gestational.diabetes,hypertension,history of abortion,and presence of ***:A cohort of 673 patients was incl.ded in our *** average maternal.age was 26 years,within a range of 22 to 32 *** mean gestational.age measured 39 weeks,with a median span of 38 to 39 *** the 673 patients,274(41%)mothers gave birth to neonates diagnosed with *** this group,22 cases were l.nked to pre-gestational.diabetes,whil. 202 were not;20 instances were associated with gestational.diabetes,compared to 200 without;and 148 cases exhibited an overweight or obese BmI,whereas 126 displ.yed a normal.***:We identiﬁed a statistical.y signiﬁcant correl.tion between pre-gestational.diabetes mel.itus and the occurrence of ***,our anal.sis did not show a statistical.y signiﬁcant association between maternal.BmI and the l.kel.hood of *** resul.s may aid in devel.ping effective strategies to prevent and manage CHD in neonates.
