Specimens regarded as Thelonectria discophora(Thelonectria,nectriaceae,Hypocreales)constitute a conspicuous group of saprobic fungi on decaying plant material,characterized by red perithecia each with a broad mammiform(nipple-like)*** asexual state is characterized by a cylindrocarpon-like morphology,with 3–5 septate macroconidia,unicellular microconidia and chlamydospores that are rarely produced in *** the past,*** was regarded as one species with a wide geographic ***,a recent study rejected the monophyly and cosmopolitan distribution of this species,and showed the existence of at least 16 cryptic species distributed in three main *** combining the results of phylogenetic analyses of six nuclear loci and morphological studies,we revised the taxonomy of the *** species complex,resulting in the description of 12 new species and four new combinations based on historic *** though molecular phylogenetic analyses strongly support the segregation of these species,and are in agreement with previous studies,individual diagnostic morphological characters for each species could not be ***,discrete morphological traits corresponding to each of the three main groups of species were *** could be differentiated based on the average values of morphological traits as well as the presence/absence of characteristic asexual propagules and colony growth at ***,illustrations are provided for the recognized species.

Chronic wounds have become one of the most important issues for healthcare systems and are a leading cause of death *** dressings are necessary to facilitate wound *** wound dressings may substantially reduce healing time,reduce the risk of recurrent infections,and reduce the disability and costs *** the path of engineering of an ideal wound dressing,hydrogels have played a leading *** are 3D hydrophilic polymeric structures that can provide a protective barrier,mimic the native extracellular matrix(ECM),and provide a humid *** to their advantages,hydrogels(with different architectural,physical,mechanical,and biological properties)have been extensively explored as wound dressing *** we describe recent studies on hydrogels for wound healing applications with a strong focus on the interplay between the fabrication method used and the architectural,mechanical,and biological performance ***,we review different categories of additives which can enhance wound regeneration using 3D hydrogel *** engineering for wound healing applications promises the generation of smart solutions to solve this pressing problem,enabling key functionalities such as bacterial growth inhibition,enhanced re-epithelialization,vascularization,improved recovery of the tissue functionality,and overall,accelerated and effective wound healing.

Game Theory Applications in a Water Distribution Problem

A water distribution problem in the Mexican Valley is modeled first as a three-person noncooperative game. Each player has a five-dimensional strategy vector, the strategy sets are defined by 15 linear constraints, and the three payoff functions are also linear. A nonlinear optimization problem is first formulated to obtain the nash equilibrium based on the Kuhn-Tucker conditions, and then, duality theorem is used to develop a computational procedure. The problem can also be considered as a conflict between the three players. The non-symmetric nash bargaining solution is suggested to find the solution. Multiobjective programming is an alternative solution concept, when the water supply of the three players are the objectives, and the water authority is considered to be the decision maker. The optimal water distribution strategies are determined by using these solution concepts and methods.

Violence at work and its relationship with burnout, depression and anxiety in healthcare professionals of the emergency services

The aim of this study was to examine the possible relationship between physical and psychological aggression suffered in the workplace and professional burnout, depression and anxiety suffered by healthcare professionals of the emergency services. Methods: 315 physicians, nurses, orderlies and ambulance drivers of Critical Care and Emergency Devices (CCED) in the Andalusian Public Health System, in the province of Granada (Spain) participated. They were interviewed about the exposure to violence at work and answered a battery of questions that measured burnout, depression and anxiety. Results: Physical aggression was significantly related to emotional exhaustion, personal accomplishment at work, depression and anxiety. Psychological aggression was associated with personal accomplishment. Logistic regression showed that the CCED professionals who have suffered physical aggression were 4.2 and 2.6 times more likely to have suffered anxiety and reduced personal accomplishment, respectively, than those who did not suffer physical aggression. On the other hand, feelings of anxiety and reduced personal accomplishment increase the professionals’ risk (3.4 and 2.1 times more likely, respectively) of suffering from physical aggression. Conclusion: The results suggest that exposure to violence is related to the other psychological problems tested: emotional exhaustion and personal accomplishment (two components of burnout), depression and anxiety. In addition, physical violence is a risk factor for anxiety and diminished personal accomplishment of the CCED professionals.

Energetic Analysis of Two Thermal Power Plants with Six and Seven Heaters

An energetic analysis of two power plants with six and seven heaters was realized in this work and also a feedwater heater was taking into consideration. This analysis considered the temperature and pressure ranges under which power generating plants work. The unit thermal consumption (UTC), the specific fuel consumption (SFC) and the specific steam consumption (SSC) were obtained for power generation. The energetic analysis to the cycles of steam with regeneration with six and seven heaters was realized. There was a difference of 0.5% in the values of UTC, SFC and SSC when the pressures of condensation changed. Also an analysis of the behavior of the thermal efficiency in relation to the rise of numbers of heater from two to seven is presented.

Morphometrics and Body Condition Index of Eurasian Collared-Dove and Mourning Dove in Durango, Mexico

In order to incorporate the knowledge of two species of wild doves and compare the results of both, we assessed morphometrics (body weight, bill, tarsus, tail, wing, head and culmen length) and body condition index (using weigh, wing, tail and tarsus length) of Eurasian Collared-Dove Streptopelia decaocto and Mourning Dove Zenaida macroura (Aves: Columbidae) based on 40 specimens of each species collected during fall-winter 2013 and spring-summer 2014 in the municipality of Durango, Durango, Mexico. We found that body condition index was higher during fallwinter for both species. We also found size dimorphism. Males of Eurasian Collared-Dove were larger than females in head length (p = 0.002) and tail length (p = 0.05) but smaller in culmen length. Female Mourning Doves had a higher body condition index compared to males (p = 0.02) during both seasons. As expected, Eurasian Collared-Dove was larger in all measurements than Mourning Dove (p > 0.05) but tail length (p = 0.12).

Breast cancer is the most common type of malignant tumor among women and their second leading cause of cancer-related *** most common method for screening and diagnosis is ***,two main problems have been ***,the dose of radiation received during the test prevents the method from the use on women who are 〈 40 years ***,there can be mammogram failure owing to the lack of tumor contrast with the fibrous ***,there is a need for screening methods that will help to identify high-risk *** developed a biological marker test that can help to identify *** levels of sialic acid （SA） in saliva are known to correlated with breast *** this study,we evaluated the feasibility of raman spectroscopy as a method for quantification of SA in saliva,using citrate-reduced silver nanoparticles （cit-Ag-nPs） as a surface-enhanced raman spectroscopy （SERS） *** of SA was accomplished by measuring its intensity in saliva and comparing it with a calibration curve of SA *** mean SA concentration in saliva was found to be significantly higher among 100 breast cancer patients （18.3 ＆#177; 9.4 mg＆#183;dL-1;mean ＆#177; SD） than among 106 healthy controls （3.5 ＆#177; 1.0 mg＆#183;dL-1）.The SERS test showed sensitivity of 94% and specificity 98% for detection of patients with breast cancer,assuming that SA concentration 〉 7 mg＆#183;dL-1 is a cutoff for positive test *** findings prove the usefulness of this SERS technique as a simple,convenient,and highly sensitive method of quantitative analysis of SA in *** simplicity of this nanotechnological test may help to substantially reduce the mortality among patients with breast cancer by providing women with a simple,noninvasive screening test that can be applied regardless of age or density of breast tissue.

In vitro Ruminal Gas Production Kinetics of Four Fodder Trees Ensiled With or Without Molasses and Urea

This study investigated if the addition of urea （U）, molasses （M） or their 1：1 （v/v） mixture during ensiling increases the nutritional value of forage from four fodder trees （Prunus persica, Leucaena esculenta, Acacia farnesiana, and Prunus domestica）. Forage samples of fodder trees were collected in triplicate （three individual samples of each species） and subjected to an in vitro gas production （GP） procedure. Fermentation at 24 h （GP 24）, short-chain volatile fatty acids （SCFA）, and microbial crude protein production （MCP）, in vitro organic matter digestibility （OMD）, metabolizable energy （ME） and dry matter degradability （DMD） were estimated. Forage samples were incubated for 72 h in an incubator at 39oC and the volume of GP was recorded at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h of incubation using the reading pressure technique. The rumen fermentation profiles were highest for P. persica, which showed the highest （P〈0.0001） DMD, ME, OMD, SCFA, GP 24 and MCP. On the other hand L. esculenta had the lowest （P〈0.0001） DMD, SCFA, MCP; P. domestica had the lowest （P〈0.0001） OMD. The addition of M to silage increased （P〈0.0001） ME and OMD, as well as GP. However, the addition of U and the mixture of U and M reduced （P〈0.0001） DMD, ME, OMD, SCFA, GY 24 and MCP. These results show that P. persica has the highest nutritive value and L. esculenta the lowest for ruminants. Additionally, the addition of M to forage from fodder trees increases rumen GP and fermentation, which may improve nutrient utilization in ruminants.
