Direct Synthesis of Molybdenum Phosphide Nanorods on Silicon Using Graphene at the Heterointerface for Efficient Photoelectrochemical Water Reduction

Transition metal phosphides(TMPs)and transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)have been widely investigated as photoelectrochemical(PEC)catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Using high-temperature processes to get crystallized compounds with large-area uniformity,it is still challenging to directly synthesize these catalysts on silicon photocathodes due to chemical incompatibility at the ***,a graphene interlayer is applied between p-Si and MoP nanorods to enable fully engineered interfaces without forming a metallic secondary compound that absorbs a parasitic light and provides an inefficient electron path for hydrogen ***,the graphene facilitates the photogenerated electrons to rapidly transfer by creating Mo-O-C covalent bondings and energetically favorable band *** a bridging role of graphene,numerous active sites and anti-reflectance of MoP nanorods lead to significantly improved PEC-HER performance with a high photocurrent density of 21.8 mA cm−2 at 0 V versus RHE and high ***,low dependence on pH and temperature is observed with MoP nanorods incorporated photocathodes,which is desirable for practical use as a part of PEC *** results indicate that the direct synthesis of TMPs and TMDs enabled by graphene interlayer is a new promising way to fabricate Si-based photocathodes with high-quality interfaces and superior HER performance.

AIM To investigate survival rate and incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) in patients with decompensated cirrhosis in the antiviral *** We used the Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment. Korea's health insurance system is a public single-payer system. The study population consisted of 286871 patients who were prescribed hepatitis B antiviral therapy for the first time between 2007 and 2014 in accordance with the insurance ***, 48365 antiviral treatment-na?ve patients treated between 2008 and 2009 were included, and each had a follow-up period ≥ 5 years. Data were analyzed for the 1 st decompensated chronic hepatitis B(CHB) and treatment-na?ve patients(n = 7166). RESULTS The mean patient age was 43.5 years. The annual mortality rates were 2.4%-19.1%, and 5-year cumulative mortality rate was 32.6% in 1^(st) decompensated CHB treatment-na?ve subjects. But the annual mortality rates sharply decreased to 3.4%(2.4%-4.9%, 2-5 year) after one year of antiviral treatment. Incidence of HCC at first year was 14.3%, the annual incidence of HCC decreased to 2.5%(1.8%-3.7%, 2-5 year) after one year. 5-year cumulative incidence of HCC was 24.1%. Recurrence rate of decompensated event was 46.9% at first year, but the annual incidence of second decompensation events in decompensated CHB treatment-na?ve patients was 3.4%(2.1%-5.4%, 2-5 year) after one year antiviral treatment. 5-year cumulative recurrence rate of decompensated events was 60.6%. Meanwhile, 5-year cumulative mortality rate was 3.1%, and 5-year cumulative incidence of HCC was 11.5% in compensated CHB treatment-na?ve *** Long term outcome of decompensated cirrhosis treated with antiviral agent improved much, and incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma and mortality sharply decreased after one year treatment.

Many *** incentivize residential energy reduction through rebates,often in response to state mandates for energy reduction or from a desire to reduce demand to mitigate the need to grow generating *** assumption built into incentive programs is that the least efficient residences will be more likely take advantage of the ***,however,is not always the *** main goal of this study was to determine the potential for prioritized incentivization,i.e.,prioritizing incentives that deliver the greatest energy savings per invest-ment through an entire *** uses a data mining approach that leverages known building and energy characteristics for predicting energy consumption of houses that collectively can be considered representative of all residences within an entire *** this model,it estimates natural gas consumption and savings,and corresponding implementation costs associated with the adoption of the most impactful energy reduction *** resulting savings and cost estimates allow us to develop a sequential energy reduction strategy whereby the most economic measures within the whole utility district are *** results show that an energy reduction of 36%can be achieved at a levelized cost of less than$14 per mmBTU($14,780 per MJ),demonstrating the strong potential of this approach.A corresponding Economic Input–Output Analysis captures the cascading community economic impacts of this *** results show that for the roughly 45,000 single-family residences in the studied region,an initial energy efficiency investment of$26M could result in a total cascading multiplier economic impact of$41M and additional economic impacts of$2.2M for the lifetime of the considered energy efficiency measures.

Malignant fibrous histiocytoma, which is composed of spindle-shaped cells arranged in a pleomorphic and storiform pattern, is rarely found in the colorectum. Although complete surgical excision remains the main stem of therapy, an optimal treatment strategy according to the stage has not been elucidated. We report a case of a 63-year-old woman with an ulcerative lesion in the anorectal junction and a final diagnosis of malignant fibrous histiocytoma. We introduced an access for transanal local excision and adjuvant radiotherapy because the patient refused abdominoperineal resection. No local recurrences or distant metastases were observed 15 mo after the operation. To our knowledge, this is the first case reported in the English literature of a malignant fibrous histiocytoma treated with the transana local excision and adjuvant radiotherapy. This report showed that this approach is selectively reserved for early-stage malignant fibrous histiocytoma and for those patients who refuse radical surgery because of the risk in a permanent colostomy.

AIM:To report our experience with single-port laparoscopic surgery(SPLS)for sigmoid volvulus(SV).METHODS:Between October 2009 and April 2013,10patients underwent SPLS for *** was performed transumbilically or through a predetermined stoma *** straight and rigid-type laparoscopic instruments were *** intracorporeal,segmental resection of the affected sigmoid colon,the specimen was extracted through the single-incision *** and perioperative data were ***:SPLS for SV was successful in all 10 patients(4,resection and primary anastomosis;6,Hartmann’s procedure).The median operative time and postoperative hospitalization period were 168(range,85-315)min and 6.5(range,4-29)d,*** intraoperative complications were noted;there were 2 postoperative complications,including 1 anastomotic ***:SPLS was a safe and feasible therapeutic approach for SV,when performed by a surgeon experienced in conventional laparoscopic surgery.

BACKGROUND This report describes and discusses recurrent intramuscular lipoma(IML)of the extensor pollicis brevis(EPB).An IML usually occurs in a large muscle of the limb or *** of IML is *** IMLs,especially those with unclear boundaries,necessitate complete *** cases of IML in the hand have been ***,recurrent IML appearing along the muscle and tendon of EPB on wrist and forearm has not been reported *** SUMMARY In this report,the authors describe clinical and histopathological features of recurrent IML at EPB.A 42-year-old Asian woman presented with a slowgrowing lump in her right forearm and wrist area six months *** patient had a history of surgery for a lipoma of the right forearm one year ago with a scar of 6cm on the right *** resonance imaging confirmed that the lipomatous mass,which had attenuation similar to subcutaneous fat,had invaded the muscle layer of *** and biopsy were performed under general *** histological examination,it was identified as an IML showing mature adipocytes and skeletal muscle ***,surgery was terminated without further *** recurrence occurred during a follow-up of five years after *** Recurrent IML in the wrist must be examined to differentiate it from *** to surrounding tissues should be minimized during excision.

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to consider the concept of Fuzzy Radial Basis Function Neural Networks with Information Granulation(IG-FRBFNN)and their optimization realized by means of the Multiobjective Particle Swarm Optimization(MOPSO).Design/methodology/approach–In fuzzy modeling,complexity,interpretability(or simplicity)as well as accuracy of the obtained model are essential design *** the performance of the IG-RBFNN model is directly affected by some parameters,such as the fuzzification coefficient used in the FCM,the number of rules and the orders of the polynomials in the consequent parts of the rules,the authors carry out both structural as well as parametric optimization of the network.A multi-objective Particle Swarm Optimization using Crowding Distance(MOPSO-CD)as well as O/WLS learning-based optimization are exploited to carry out the structural and parametric optimization of the model,respectively,while the optimization is of multiobjective character as it is aimed at the simultaneous minimization of complexity and maximization of ***–The performance of the proposed model is illustrated with the aid of three *** proposed optimization method leads to an accurate and highly interpretable fuzzy ***/value–A MOPSO-CD as well as O/WLS learning-based optimization are exploited,respectively,to carry out the structural and parametric optimization of the *** a result,the proposed methodology is interesting for designing an accurate and highly interpretable fuzzy model.

The solidification process significantly affects the mechanical properties and there are lots of factors that affect the solidification *** progress has been made in the research on the effect of solidification on mechanical *** them,the PF(Phase Field) model and CA(Cellular Automata) model are widely used as simulation methods which can predict nucleation and its growth,and the size and morphology of the grains during *** they can give accurate calculation results,it needs too much computational memory and calculation *** it is difficult to apply the simulation to the real production *** this study,a more practical simulation approach which can predict the mechanical properties of real aluminum alloys is proposed,by identifying through experiment the relationship between cooling rate and SDAS(Secondary Dendrite Arm Spacing) and mechanical *** experimentally measured values and the values predicted by simulation have relatively small differences and the mechanical properties of a variety of Al alloys are expected to be predicted before casting through use of the simulation.

Extreme rainfall-induced debris flow can be catastrophic to an urban area,and installation of slit-type barriers can prevent such damage while minimizing negative impact on ***,the performance of slit-type barriers against debris flows remains poorly identified partly due to the innate complexity in interactions between debris flow and solid *** paper investigated the flow behaviors of debris affected by slit-type barriers using the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method,in which the numerical model based on the volume of fluid method was verified using the physical modeling *** sensitivity analysis was performed by building metamodels to determine the prima ry parameters influencing the barrier performance against debris flows among various variables,in which the effect of input properties and design parameters,particularly the soil concentration in fluidized debris,initial velocity and volume of debris,the barrier height,and the opening ratio,was evaluated from the perspectives of the flow energy reduction and debris *** initial velocity and volume of debris were found to play a significant role in determining the debris flow characteristics.A decrease in the opening ratio in the channel primarily facilitated the energy reduction and trapping due to the reduced opening ***,the barrier height exhibited a limited effect when the height was sufficiently high to block the debris flow *** addition,it was observed that the double barrier system effectively increased the energy reduction while keeping the benefit of open-type *** developed simulation method and obtained results provide an effective tool and an insight that can contribute to an optimum design of the debris-flow barrier.
