Phase separations have been studied for graded-indium content In_xGa_（1-x）N/GaN multiple quantum wells（MQWs） with different indium contents by means of photoluminescence（PL）,cathodeluminescence（CL） and time-resolved PL（TRPL） *** the main emission peaks,all samples show another 2 peaks at the high and low energy parts of the main peaks in PL when excited at 10 *** images show a clear contrast for 3 samples,which indicates an increasing phase separation with increasing indium *** spectra at 15 K of the main emissions show an increasing delay of rising time with indium content,which means a carrier transferring from low indium content structures to high indium content structures.

High-mobility group box 1 was first discovered in the calf thymus as a DNA-binding nuclear protein and has been widely studied in diverse fields,including neurology and ***-mobility group box 1 in the extracellular space functions as a pro-inflammatory damage-associated molecular pattern,which has been proven to play an important role in a wide variety of central nervous system disorders such as ischemic stroke,Alzheimer’s disease,frontotemporal dementia,Parkinson’s disease,multiple sclerosis,epilepsy,and traumatic brain *** drugs that inhibit high-mobility group box 1 as a damage-associated molecular pattern,such as glycyrrhizin,ethyl pyruvate,and neutralizing anti-high-mobility group box 1 antibodies,are commonly used to target high-mobility group box 1 activity in central nervous system *** it is commonly known for its detrimental inflammatory effect,high-mobility group box 1 has also been shown to have beneficial pro-regenerative roles in central nervous system *** this narrative review,we provide a brief summary of the history of high-mobility group box 1 research and its characterization as a damage-associated molecular pattern,its downstream receptors,and intracellular signaling pathways,how high-mobility group box 1 exerts the repair-favoring roles in general and in the central nervous system,and clues on how to differentiate the pro-regenerative from the pro-inflammatory *** targeting high-mobility group box 1 in the central nervous system may benefit from differentiating between the two functions rather than overall suppression of high-mobility group box 1.

Numerical simulation of a short flexible pipe subject to forced motion and vortex-induced vibration

A series of numerical sinmlations about a small scale （aspect ratio： 63.2） flexible pipe undergoing forced harmonious oscillation and vortex-induced vibration （VIV） have been taken into account. The wake hydrodynamics and pipe deformation were accomplished by ANSYS MFX solution strat- egy designed for fluid-structure interaction （FSI） problem with well-performed LES model. The configuration of structured mesh, multi-domain design, different mesh stiffness admeasured by User Fortran ensured that the numerical task was competent to deal with large deformation related to this case. The introduction of instantaneous amplitude definition and modeless component decom- position method （Chen and Kim, 2008） was helpful to reveal much more information from modal analysis. Most results from numerical simulation are generally consistent with those from model test （choi and Hong, 2000） via the comparison between them. As supplementary to model test, visualization of the vortex wake was also provided. It has been proved that the forced oscillation doesn＇t only excite a complicated dumbbell-like wake pattern around the outer thimble, but also results in inner flow inside the PVC pipe. The velocity of the inner flow increases with the frequency of forced oscillation.

Smart home technology provides consumers with network connectivity,automation or enhanced services for home *** the Internet of Things era,a vast data flow makes business platforms have to own the same computing power to match their business *** achieves computing power through implementing big data algorithms deployed in the cloud data ***,because of the far long geographical distance between the client and the data center or the massive data capacity gap,potentially high latency and high packet loss will reduce the usability of smart home systems if service providers deploy all services in the cloud data *** computing and fog computing can significantly improve the utilization of network resources and reconstruct the network architecture for the user’s *** article enables a fog resource-based resource allocation management *** provides a method that can more reasonably allocate network resources through a virtualized middle-tier method to ensure low response time and configure Quality of Service to ensure the use of delay-sensitive critical applications to improve the reliability of smart home communication ***,the proposed method has is tested and verified by adjusting the variables of the network *** realize the optimization of resource allocation of client network without changing the hardware of client.

Swarm robot systems are an important application of autonomous unmanned surface vehicles on water *** monitoring natural environments and conducting security activities within a certain range using a surface vehicle,the swarm robot system is more efficient than the operation of a single object as the former can reduce cost and save *** is necessary to detect adjacent surface obstacles robustly to operate a cluster of unmanned surface *** this purpose,a LiDAR(light detection and ranging)sensor is used as it can simultaneously obtain 3D information for all directions,relatively robustly and accurately,irrespective of the surrounding environmental *** the GPS(global-positioning-system)error range exists,obtaining measurements of the surface-vessel position can still ensure stability during platoon *** this study,a three-layer convolutional neural network is applied to classify types of surface *** aim of this approach is to redefine the sparse 3D point cloud data as 2D image data with a connotative meaning and subsequently utilize this transformed data for object classification ***,we have proposed a descriptor that converts the 3D point cloud data into 2D image *** use this descriptor effectively,it is necessary to perform a clustering operation that separates the point clouds for each *** developed voxel-based clustering for the point cloud ***,using the descriptor,3D point cloud data can be converted into a 2D feature image,and the converted 2D image is provided as an input value to the *** intend to verify the validity of the proposed 3D point cloud feature descriptor by using experimental data in the ***,we explore the feasibility of real-time object classification within this framework.

BACKGROUND： Previous studies have analyzed cerebral activation and lateralization of cognitive functions, as well as cerebellar function with reference to high-level cognitive processing. However, there has been very little research on systematization and diversification. In particular, there are no reports on cerebellar lateralization, although reliable results have been reported on cerebral lateralization. OBJECTIVE： This study analyzed cerebellar activation and lateralization in relation to verbal and visuospatial tasks using functional magnetic resonance imaging （fMRI）. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A block design for fMRI observation was performed at the fMRI Laboratory, Brain Science Research Center, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology from May 2006 to September 2008. PARTICIPANTS： Sixteen healthy, male, college students, aged （23.3 ± 0.5） years, and 16 healthy, male, college students, aged （21.5 ± 2.3） years, participated in the study, respectively. METHODS： Verbal and visuospatial tasks were presented while functional brain images were acquired using a 3T fMRI system. Verbal analogy testing required the subject to select the word with the same relationship as one of the given words. Verbal antonym testing required the subject to select the word with a different meaning among four words. Visuospatial tasks involved selecting a shape that corresponded to a given figure with four examples, as well as selecting a development figure of a diagram. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： Changes in cerebellar activation and lateralization between two cognition tasks. RESULTS： Bilateral hemisphere Iobules VI and IX, right hemisphere Iobule VIII, bilateral hemisphere Iobules Crus I, and vermis Iobule IV, V, and Vl were closely related to verbal tasks in comparison to visuospatial tasks. Conversely, bilateral hemisphere Iobules IV and V, as well as the right hemisphere Iobule VI, were closely related to visuospatial tasks compared to verbal tasks. There was no great differe

Online Approach for Spatio-Temporal Trajectory Data Reduction for Portable Devices

As location data are widely available to portable devices, trajectory tracking of moving objects has become an essential technology for most location-based services. To maintain such streaming data of location updates from mobile clients, conventional approaches such as time-based regular location updating and distance-based location updating have been used. However, these methods suffer from the large amount of data, redundant location updates, and large trajectory estimation errors due to the varying speed of moving objects. In this paper, we propose a simple but efficient online trajectory data reduction method for portable devices. To solve the problems of redundancy and large estimation errors, the proposed algorithm computes trajectory errors and finds a recent location update that should be sent to the server to satisfy the user requirements. We evaluate the proposed algorithm with real GPS trajectory data consisting of 17 201 trajectories. The intensive simulation results prove that the proposed algorithm always meets the given user requirements and exhibits a data reduction ratio of greater than 87% when the acceptable trajectory error is greater than or equal to 10 meters.

The effects of lntcr-ckxttxxk insertion on the performance of a hollow--electrode plasma torch have been investigated by numerical *** results revealed that when inter-dcctrodes arc inserted,the arc voltages and plasma powers increase due to the increase in the arc *** addition,it was predicted that thermal efficiency can be improved with the increase in plasma power by injecting plasma gases through the gaps between *** unique effects of inter-electrode insertion arc a result of the plasma temperatures adjusting themselves to increase arc voltages when the arc column is contracted radially by increasing gas-flow rate or decreasing inter-electrcxk diameter.
