Cancer is an abnormal state of cells where they undergo uncontrolled proliferation and produce aggressive malignancies that causes millions of deaths every *** the new understanding of the molecular mechanism(s)of disease progression,our knowledge about the disease is snowballing,leading to the evolution of many new therapeutic regimes and their successive *** the past few decades,various combinations of therapies have been pro-posed and are presently employed in the treatment of diverse *** drug therapy,immunotherapy,and personalized medicines are now largely being employed,which were not common a few years *** field of cancer discoveries and therapeutics are evolving fast as cancer type-specific biomarkers are progressively being identified and several types of cancers are nowadays undergoing systematic therapies,extending patients’disease-free survival *** growing evidence shows that a systematic and targeted approach could be the future of cancer medicine,chemotherapy remains a largely opted therapeutic option despite its known side effects on the patient’s physical and psychological ***-apeutic agents/pharmaceuticals served a great purpose over the past few decades and have remained the frontline choice for advanced-stage malignancies where surgery and/or radiation therapy cannot be prescribed due to specific *** present report succinctly reviews the existing and contemporary advancements in chemotherapy and assesses the status of the enrolled drugs/pharmaceuticals;it also comprehensively discusses the emerging role of specific/targeted therapeutic strategies that are presently being employed to achieve better clinical success/survival rate in cancer patients.

Trend Analysis of Three Major Mosquito Borne Diseases in Punjab, India

Background & Objectives: Understanding the distribution and prevalence of three major mosquito borne diseases in an area is critical for the development of effective vector control strategies and public health interventions. The present study is therefore aimed to explore the epidemiological trend of malaria, dengue and chikungunya from 2012 to 2018 in Punjab. Methods: Quantitatively retrospective data was collected from Department of Health and Family Welfare, the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Punjab from 2012 to March 2018. The collected data was statistically analysed. Results: In case of malaria highest prevalent districts in Punjab are Mansa and Bathinda, for dengue Patiala, Ludhiana and s.A.s. Nagar and Patiala for chikungunya. Malaria was reported mainly from rural areas while dengue and chikungunya were found more in urban areas. For all three mosquito borne diseases, males were infected more as compared to females. Malaria cases were reported in months of August and september while dengue cases increased from July to November whereas chikungunya cases were highest in months of August to October. Conclusions: These findings help in concluding the trend analysis which in turn helps us to increase our focus on disease endemic districts along with boosting the vector control strategies in respective districts. Further the control of these mosquito borne diseases can be solved by employing adequate human resources, by increasing awareness in the community by conducting health camps and strengthening the entomological surveillance for timely reduction in the breeding of the vectors, especially before the repeated rise in cases during the period from July to November each year.

TL Glow Curve study, Kinetics, PL and XRD Analysis of Mn2+Doped CaAl2O4Phosphors

The present paper reports Thermoluminescence (TL) Glow curve of Mn2+ doped CaAl2O4 phosphor with different UV exposure time. The Glow peak shows general order kinetics and evaluation of kinetic parameters was done by peak shape method. Calculations of Trap Depth were done with Chen’s different methods and order of kinetics, activation energy and frequency factor are calculated. The recorded glow curve shifts towards higher temperature with increasing intensity as a function of UV exposure time until 30 minutes where it is seen that the peak shifts towards low temperature side and intensity also decreases. The peaks were found at 345?C, 356.83?C, 358?C and 356.73?C respectively using the heating rate 6.7?C/s. The PL (photoluminescence) excitation spectra show peaks at 248 nm and 362 nm whereas emission spectra shows peaks between 364 nm and 551 nm. sample was characterized by XRD technique.

近年来以内容分析法为研究方法的旅游研究呈现出逐年增长的趋势.为提高我国旅游学界在应用内容分析法进行研究时的规范性和有效性,从内容分析法的基本研究程序出发,采用目的抽样对74篇发表于2009—2019年间运用了内容分析法的中文旅游核心论文进行了系统的统计与分析.研究结果揭示了这一阶段内容分析法在我国旅游研究中的应用现状和发展趋势,同时指出了我国旅游研究应用内容分析法的过程中在抽样方法、评判记录以及信度检验等研究程序中存在的规范性欠缺,提出在今后的相关研究中应当遵循研究主题、样本选择、编码归类、评判记录、信度检验和统计描述的研究程序,并建议了具体的实施标准和系统的研究程序.

Data Transmission Delay in Medtronic Reveal LINQTMImplantable Cardiac Monitor: Clinical Experience in 520 Patients

Background: The Implantable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) is an invaluable tool for detecting cardiac arrhythmias by providing physicians. Critical to the success of ICMs depends on how quickly and accurately the data can be transmitted to a physician’s office after an arrhythmic event. Then, the clinical event can be analyzed and the treatment will be provided accordingly. However, no reports have been published as to how efficiently the ICM data is transmitted. Methods: There is a retrospective review of 520 patients who received a Medtronic Reveal LINQTM between 2/01/2015 and 6/01/2017. The time from the arrhythmic event to the time of physician notification was calculated and reason for delay was noted. Results: One hundred and twenty patients out of 520 patients (23%) had arrhythmic events transmitted over a mean follow up of 14 ± 4 months. The mean time between cardiac events and physician notification was 15 ± 8 days. sixty-three percent (63%) of data transmission delay (defined as >24 hours) was due to the MyCareLinkTM Monitor not being in proximity to the patient. Connection failure between the monitor and the network accounted for 34% of data transmission delay. Conclusion: significant delay in data transmission from Medtronic Reveal LINQTM cardiac monitor occurs frequently impacting patient care. Newer generations of the implantable cardiac monitors utilize Bluetooth technology, enabling immediate transfer of data from ICM to a patient’s cellular phone and subsequently to their physician’s office. This technology could potentially improve efficiency and reliability eliminating the issues of proximity and connectivity.
