Pupil dynamics are the important characteristics of face spoofing *** face recognition system is one of the most used biometrics for authenticating individual *** main threats to the facial recognition system are different types of presentation attacks like print attacks,3D mask attacks,replay attacks,*** proposed model uses pupil characteristics for liveness detection during the authentication *** pupillary light reflex is an involuntary reaction controlling the pupil’s diameter at different light *** proposed framework consists of two-phase *** the first phase,the pupil’s diameter is calculated by applying stimulus(light)in one eye of the subject and calculating the constriction of the pupil size on both eyes in different video *** above measurement is converted into feature space using Kohn and Clynes model-defined *** Support Vector Machine is used to classify legitimate subjects when the diameter change is normal(or when the eye is alive)or illegitimate subjects when there is no change or abnormal oscillations of pupil behavior due to the presence of printed photograph,video,or 3D mask of the subject in front of the *** the second phase,we perform the facial recognition ***-invariant feature transform(SIFT)is used to find the features from the facial images,with each feature having a size of a 128-dimensional *** features are scale,rotation,and orientation invariant and are used for recognizing facial *** brute force matching algorithm is used for matching features of two different *** threshold value we considered is 0.08 for good *** analyze the performance of the framework,we tested our model in two Face antispoofing datasets named Replay attack datasets and CASIA-SURF datasets,which were used because they contain the videos of the subjects in each sample having three modalities(RGB,IR,Depth).The CASIA-SURF datasets showed an 89.9%Equal Err

NiCo_2O_4 Nano-/Microstructures as High-Performance Biosensors: A Review

Non-enzymatic biosensors based on mixed transition metal oxides are deemed as the most promising devices due to their high sensitivity,selectivity,wide concentration range,low detection limits,and excellent *** NiCo2O4 mixed oxides have drawn considerable attention recently due to their outstanding advantages including large specific surface area,high permeability,short electron,and ion diffusion *** of the rapid development of non-enzyme biosensors,the current state of methods for synthesis of pure and composite/hybrid NiCo2P4 materials and their subsequent electrochemical biosensing applications are systematically and comprehensively reviewed *** analysis reveals better electrochemical sensing of bioanalytes by one-dimensional and two-dimensional NiCo2O4 nano-/microstructures than other *** biosensing efficiency of NiCo2O4 as compared to corresponding individual metal oxides,*** and Co3O4,is attributed to the close intrinsic-state redox couples of Ni3+/Ni2+(0.58 V/0.49 V) and Co3+/Co2+(0.53 V/0.51 V).Biosensing performance of NiCo2O4 is also significantly improved by making the composites of NiCo2O4 with conducting carbonaceous materials like graphene,reduced graphene oxide,carbon nanotubes(single and multi-walled),carbon nanofibers;conducting polymers like polypyrrole(PPy),polyaniline(PANI);metal oxides NiO,Co3O4,SnO2,MnO2;and metals like Au,Pd,*** factors affecting the morphologies and biosensing parameters of the nano-/microstructured NiCo2O4 are also ***,some drawbacks and future perspectives related to this promising field are outlined.

Experimental investigation for machinability aspects of graphene oxide/carbon fiber reinforced polymer nanocomposites and predictive modeling using hybrid approach

This article explores the drilling behavior of polymer nanocomposites reinforced by Graphene oxide/Carbon fiber using a hybrid method of Grey theory and Principal component analysis(GR-PCA).An online digital dynamometer was employed for the evaluation of Thrust Force and *** image processing technique computes the *** surface methodology(RSM)considers the parameters,namely,drilling speed(S),feed rate(F),Graphene Oxide wt.%(G)in designing the experimentation *** component analysis(PCA)was used to tackle the response priority weight during the combination of multiple *** of variance(ANOVA)scrutinized the influence of parameters and intended the regression models to predict the ***-PCA evaluated the optimal parametric setting and remarked that feed rate acts as the most predominant *** higher feed rate and wt.%of G is responsible for surface damages like fiber pull-out,fiber fracture and cracks.A significant improvement in drilling responses has been obtained and also validates through confirmatory test and microstructure investigations.

The various methods for microwave processing of materials exhibit numerous advantages,such as short processing times,high yield,expanded reaction conditions,high reproducibility,and high purity of ***-assisted synthesis strategies have been widely adopted for the preparation of highperformance graphene-based materials for supercapacitor *** oxides,mixed metal oxides,metal hydroxides,layered double hydroxides,carbon nanotubes and conducting polymers are some of the main materials which have been added to graphene derivatives for advanced composite/hybrid *** review article first provides a brief introduction and an overview of microwave heating and its advantages for processing graphene-based electrode *** that,a systematic survey of recently published research on microwave irradiation-assisted processing is presented,focusing on:(i)transformation of graphite/graphite oxide into graphene/graphene oxide by exfoliation and reduction;(ii)formation of graphene derivatives in various liquid and gaseous media;(iii)modification of graphene derivatives with various metal oxides/hydroxides,carbon nanotubes,and conducting polymers for use in *** challenges and future perspectives for microwave-assisted processing of graphene-based materials for cutting-edge supercapacitor electrode applications are also summarized in the conclusion.

ηmesons in hot magnetized nuclear matter

ηN interactions are investigated in hot magnetized asymmetric nuclear matter using the chiral SU(3)model and chiral perturbation theory(ChPT).In the chiral modcl,thc in-medium properties of η-mesons are calcu-lated using medium modified scalar densities under the influence of an extermal magnetic ***,in a com-bined chiral model and ChPT approach,off-shell contributions of the ηN interactions are evaluated from the ChPTeffective ηN Lagrangian,and the in-medium effect of scalar densities are incorporated from the chiral SU(3)*** find that the magnetic field has a significant effect on the in-medium mass and optical potential of η mesons,andwe observe a deeper mass-shift in the combined chiral model and ChPT approach than in the solo chiral SU(3)*** both approaches,no additional mass-shift is observed due to the uncharged nature of η mesons in the presenceof a magnetic field.

Charmonia and bottomonia in asymmetric magnetized hot nuclear matter

We investigate the mass-shift of P-wave charmonium(χc0,χc1),and S and P-wave bottomonium(ηb,■,χb0,andχb1)states in magnetized hot asymmetric nuclear matter using the unification of QCD sum rules(QCDSR)and the chiral S U(3)*** QCDSR,we use two approaches,i.e.,the moment sum rule and the Borel sum *** magnetic field induced scalar gluon condensateand the twist-2 gluon operatorcalculated in the chiral S U(3)model are utilised in QCD sum rules to calculate the in-medium mass-shift of the above *** attractive mass-shift of these mesons is observed,which is more sensitive to magnetic field in the high density regime for charmonium,however less so for *** results may be helpful to understand the decay of higher quarkonium states to the lower quarkonium states in asymmetric heavy ion collision experiments.

Secondary Silicates as a Barrier to Carbon Capture and Storage in Deccan Basalt

Investigating the immobilization of CO2,previous basalt-water-CO2 interaction studies revealed the formation of carbonates over a short period,but with the extensive formation of secondary silicates(SS).The mechanisms involved in these processes remain unresolved,so the present study was undertaken to understand secondary mineral formation *** and Rietveld refinement data for neo-formed minerals show a drastic decrease in the Ca-O bond length,with the calcite structure degenerating after 80 h(hours).However,SEM images and EDS data revealed that a longer interaction time resulted in the formation of chlorite and smectite,adjacent to basalt grains which prevent basaltwater-CO2 interaction to form carbonates,thus restricting carbonate *** a result of this,the CO2 mineralization rate is initially high(till 80 h),but it later reduces *** is evident that,for such temperature-controlled transformations,low temperature is conducive to minimizing SS surface coating at the time of mineral carbonation.

Sacred groves preserve a rich religious and socio-cultural heritage of Indian biodiversity from primeval times,due to their *** act as a bridge between man and *** help to improve soil quality,replenish water resources and are pivotal for biodiversity conservation of plants and animals including rare,endemic,threatened,vulnerable species and ethnobotanical *** of India's sacred groves are associated with a deity or a spiritual being,who protects the grove and local *** cover of these groves has traditional ethnobotanical value,especially in the field of ethnomedicine,which accounts for the conservation of groves over the *** plant species from sacred groves are used according to tradition and culture to prevent or cure various health ***,modernisation,industrialisation,increased encroachment and misuse of forest resources increasingly threaten sacred *** treasures of nature must be conserved by formulating and applying new laws and policies while creating awareness among people about the value of sacred *** this aim,we review the distribution,ecological and socio-cultural significance of sacred groves of India and strategies to conserve them.

Kinematic Modeling for Biped Robot Gait Trajectory Using Machine Learning Techniques

This paper presents the predictive models for biped robot trajectory *** models are parametrizing as a continuous function of joint angle *** a previous work,the authors had collected the human locomotion dataset at RAMAN Lab,MNIT,Jaipur,*** MNIT gait dataset consists of walking data on a plane surface of 120 human subjects from different age groups and ***-two machine learning models(linear,support vector,k-nearest neighbor,ensemble,probabilistic,and deep learning)trained using the collected *** addition,two types of mapping,(a)one-to-one and(b)many-to-one,are presented for each *** mapping models act as a reference policy for the control of joints and prediction of state for the next time instant in advance if the onboard sensor *** show that the deep learning and probabilistic learning models perform better for both types of ***,the probabilistic model outperforms the deep learning-based models in terms of maximum error,because the probabilistic model effectively deals with the prediction *** addition,many-to-one outperforms the one-to-one mapping because it captures the correlation between knee,hip,and ankle ***,this study suggests a many-to-one mapping using the probabilistic model for biped robot trajectory generation.

A Novel Approach for Enhancement of Geometric and Contrast Resolution Properties of Low Contrast Images

The present work encompasses a new image enhancement algorithm using newly constructed Chebyshev fractional order differentiator. We have used Chebyshev polynomials to design Chebyshev fractional order differentiator. We have generated the high pass filter corresponding to it. The designed filters are applied for decomposing the input image into four bands and low-low(L-L) sub-band is updated using correction coefficients. Reconstructed image with updated L-L sub-band provides the enhanced image. The visual results obtained are encouraging for image enhancement. The applicability of the developed algorithm is illustrated on three different test *** effects of order of differentiation on the edges of images have also been presented and discussed.
