Background:?According to the GLOBOCAN 2018 report, the estimated incidence of lung cancer in India was 67,795 in both sexes. The treatment of advanced Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) saw a major paradigm shift with recent advances in molecular-targeted therapy. Immune checkpoint blockade therapy is one such novel strategy with promising clinical benefits in advanced NSCLC. Programmed cell death receptor-1/Programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) pathway is one such checkpoint and has thus become the current area of interest in the treatment of lung carcinoma. The PD-1/?PD-L1 pathway is under active investigation as it represents a promising therapeutic target in NSCLC. The expression of PD-L1 in tumor cells has been suggested as a predictive marker of the clinical response to PD-1/?PD-L1-targeted therapy. Methods: This study was carried out at the Department of Pathology, Health Care Global Specialty Hospital, Bangalore from May 2018 to May 2019. In this study, we analyzed pattern of PD-L1 expression by immunohistochemistry testing using our own Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) in NSCLC patients. Results:?Our study group comprised 50 patients of NSCLC. Among our study population, 40% of the patients exhibited PD-L1 immunopositivity (≥1%) with 28% of them having any expression (TPS 1% - 49%) and 12% of them having a high expression (TPS ≥ 50%) of PD-L1. Majority of them exhibited adenocarcinoma type of NSCLC under which the solid subtype showed a direct correlation with PD-L1 positivity (p-value: 0.004) with a poorly differentiated tumor histology being common in our population in relation to PD-L1 positivity (p-value: 0.043). PD-L1 expression did not correlate with age, gender, smoking status or clinical stage in our study. No association was found between tumor histology (SCC or AC) and driver mutation status with expression of PD-L1 in the present study. The textural and mineralogical characteristics of subsurface sediments along with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) data collected along the Western margin of India were used to understand the depositional environments and the provenance of sediments. Textural attributes such as mean, standard deviation, skewness and Kurtosis show fluctuations due to fluvio-marine interaction and it is well understood that the bottom sediments are enriched with muddy sand, which may be deposited by mean of tidal invasion. The abundance of very coarse silt to very fine sand indicates the prevalence of low energy environment. The Linear Discriminate Function analysis indicates the fluvio marine deposition of sediments under low energy condition. GPR data upto a depth of 5 m shows the stratigraphic sequences of very fine sands and coarse silt. Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) dating of sediments implies that the tidal sediments had deposited between ~30 ± 1 and ~90 ± 4 years before Present. XRD studies results the dominance of K-feldspar and deficiency of clay minerals, indicating that most of the sediments are derived from hinterland. Studies indicate that the Provenance of sediments in the Mandvi area is not related to Indus delta even though a considerable part of Gulf sediments are deposited by the Indus River.

AIM To investigated clinical,endoscopic and histopathological parameters of the patients presenting with ileocecal ulcers on *** Consecutive symptomatic patients undergoing colonoscopy,and diagnosed to have ulcerations in the ileocecal(I/C) region,were *** was obtained and theirclinical presentation and outcome were *** Out of 1632 colonoscopies,104 patients had ulcerations in the I/C region and were included in the *** median age was 44.5 years and 59% were *** predominant presentation was lower GI bleed(55,53%),pain abdomen ± diarrhea(36,35%),fever(32,31%),and diarrhea alone(9,9%).On colonoscopy,terminal ileum was entered in 96(92%) *** distribution of ulcers was as follows:Ileum alone 40%(38/96),cecum alone 33%(32/96),and both ileum plus cecum 27%(26/96).The ulcers were multiple in 98% and in 34% there were additional ulcers elsewhere in *** on clinical presentation and investigations,the etiology of ulcers was classified into infective causes(43%) and noninfective causes(57%).Fourteen patients(13%) were diagnosed to have Crohn's disease(CD).CONCLUSION Non-specific ileocecal ulcers are most common ulcers seen in ileo-cecal *** if all infections are clubbed together then infection is the most common(> 40%) cause of ulcerations of the I/C *** involvement and fever are important clues to infective *** the contrary CD account for only 13% cases as a cause of *** all symptomatic patients with I/C ulcers on colonoscopy are not Crohn's.
