Evaluation of in vitro antioxidant, antiglycation and antimicrobial potential of indigenous.Myanmar medicinal plants

Objective： Myanmar has.a long his.ory of us.ng medicinal plants.for treatment of various.dis.as.s. To the bes. of our knowledge there are no previous.reports.on antiglycation activities.of medicinal plants.from Myanmar. Therefore, this.s.udy was.aimed to evaluate the antioxidant, antiglycation and antimicrobial properties.of 20 ethanolic extracts.from 17 medicinal plants.indigenous.to Myanmar. Methods. In vitro s.avenging as.ays.of 2,2-diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl （DPPH）, nitric oxide （NO）, s.peroxide （s.） radicals.were us.d to determine the antioxidant activities. Folin-Ciocalteu＇s.method was.performed to determine the total phenolic content. Antiglycation and antimicrobial activities.were detected by bovine s.rum albumin-fluores.ent as.ay and agar well diffus.on method. Res.lts. Terminalia cbebula Retz. （Fruit）, containing the highes. total phenolic content, s.owed high antioxidant activities.with inhibition of 77.98% ± 0.92% 88.95% ± 2.42%, 88.56% ±1.87% and 70.74% ±2.57% for DPPH, NO, s. as.ays.and antiglycation activity res.ectively. It als. s.owed the antimicrobial activities.agains. s.aphylococcus.aureus. Bacillus.cereus. Es.herichia coil, Ps.udomonas.aeruginos. and Candida albicans.with inhibition zone of 19, 18, 17, 25 and 15 ram, res.ectively. Garcinia mangos.ana Linn. s.owed the s.ronges. activities.for s. and antiglycation as.ays.with inhibition of 93.68% ± 2.63% and 82.37%± 1.78%. Bark of Melia s.. was.the bes. NO radical s.avenger with inhibition rate of 89.39%± 0.60%. Conclus.on： The res.lts.s.gges. that thes. plants.are potential s.urces.of antioxidants.with free radical-s.avenging and antiglycation activities.and could be us.ful for decreas.ng the oxidative s.res. and glycation end-product formation in glycation-related dis.as.s.

1918～1926年日本政府改善中国留日学生政策初探

日本政府在1918～1926年的大正中后期一改此前相对冷漠的中国留日学生政策,支持成立"日华学会",颁布改善中国留日学生待遇的系列法案,退还部分庚款建立中国留日学生学费补给制度等。其原因主要来自中国留日学生日益剧烈的反日斗争和欧美各国争夺中国留学生教育权的国际压力,以及本国各界人士要求反省和改进中国留日学生政策的呼吁与建议。因此,这些政策虽在客观上为中国留日学生的学习和生活提供了方便,但并未改变日本政府通过留日学生培养中日亲善意识和亲日分子以配合侵华扩张政策的主观目的,所以具有明显的功利性、选择性、象征性和国际性特点。

从传统角度理解,男性在社会中更加主动、独立、果断,与之相比多数女性则显得被动、消极,然而《嘉莉妹妹》与《云雀之歌》这两部文学作品却颠覆了这种看法,为我们展现出女性果敢、独立的一面。分析了这两部作品最大的共同点在于对性别及其社会地位的非常规理解。比较了《嘉莉妹妹》与《云雀之歌》中的两位女主人公:她们的经历各不相同,相同的是她们身边都不乏多位男性角色出场。尽管西娅和嘉莉都被男性角色利用,然而她们最终摆脱了男性束缚,都以不同的方式获得了成功。从这两部小说中,我们可以看到作者对传统观念中男女角色的突破。

在第二次世界大战中,美国和中国政府积极进行外交磋商,试图就战后亚洲的国际秩序达成一致。在中美战时外交中朝鲜问题成为焦点之一。出于不同的实力地位、地缘关系、与朝鲜的文化历史渊源,中美政府对战后朝鲜的政治前途有不同的政策设想,而未能达成一种切实可行的共同方案。中美外交受挫的结果是将朝鲜问题留置于美、苏各自在太平洋战争结束时的军事态势,也因此为朝鲜半岛成为以后冷战的战场埋下伏笔。
