A mathematical model of an amperometric biosensor with the substrate inhibition for steady-state condition is discussed. The model is based on the system of non-stationary diffusion equation containing a non-linear term related to non-Michaelis–Menten kinetics of the enzymatic reaction. This paper presents the analytical expression of concentrations and current for all values of parameters φ2s φ2s α and β . Here the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) is used to find the analytical expressions for substrate, product concentration and current. A comparison of the analytical approximation and numerical simulation is also presented. A good agreement between theoretical predictions and numerical results is observed.

A mathematical modelling by a biofilm under steady state conditions is discussed. The nonlinear differential Equations in biofilm reaction is solved using the Adomian decomposition method. Approximate analytical expressions for substrate concentration have been derived for all values of parameters δ and SL. These analytical results are compared with the available numerical results and are found to be in good agreement.

A theoretical model for the non steady-state response of a pH-based potentiometric biosensor immobilizing organophosphorus hydrolase (OPH) is discussed. The model is based on a system of five coupled nonlinear reaction-diffusion equations under non steady-state conditions for enzyme reactions occurring in potentiometric biosensor that describes the concentration of substrate and hydrolysis products within the membrane. New approximate analytical expressions for the concentration of the substrate (organophosphorus pesticides (OPs)) and products are derived for all values of Thiele modulus and buffer concentration using new approach of homotopy perturbation method. The analytical results are also compared with numerical ones and a good agreement is obtained. The obtained results are valid for the whole solution domain.

Biogenic volatile organic compounds(VOCs)emitted by plants can reveal information about plant adaptation,defense processes,and biological ***,such VOC data may be utilized to capture phenotypic plant responses to the *** this study,the main objective was to evaluate the potential of biogenic compounds,including VOCs,to phenotype two pea cultivars,Ariel(susceptible)and Hampton(high levels of partial resistance)for resistance to Aphanomyces root rot *** were monitored non-destructively for VOC emission at three-time points(15,20,and 30 days after inoculation,DAI)using dynamic headspace sampling with gas chromatography-flame ionization detec-tion(GC-FID)system,as well as destructively at the end of the experiments,using solvent extraction and pyrolysis of both shoot and root tissues.A non-inoculated control(mock-inoculated with distilled water)was utilized to compare the plant responses within a *** common chemical peaks between control and inoculated samples of both culti-vars(RT_(cm))were analyzed after normalizing the relative peak intensity of inoculated samples with those of control samples,prior to a comparison between *** addi-tion,unique chemical peaks(RT_(uq))present in inoculated samples,but not in control sam-ples were also identified and their relative peak intensities were *** the released green leaf volatiles(RT_(cm)),the normalized relative peak intensity of hexanal emis-sion,at 20 DAI,was higher in Ariel than that of *** addition,several putative chemical peaks(both RT_(cm) and RT_(uq)),previously known as indicators for disease response,exhibited some differences in their emission rates between pea cultivars in at least one of the time *** destructive sampling revealed that shoot samples produced more putative unique biomarkers(RT_(uq))than the root *** on the differences in puta-tive chemical peaks between cultivars,this initial study supports the concept of utilizat

Friction stir welding(FSW)has been extensively adopted to fabricate aluminium alloy joints by incorporating various welding parameters that include welding speed,rotational speed,diameters of shoulder and pin and tool tilt *** parameters significantly affect the weld *** tilt angle is one of the significant process parameters among the weld *** present study focused on the effect of tool tilt angle on strength of friction stir lap welding of AA2014-T6 aluminium *** tool tilt angle was varied between 0°and 4°with an equal increment of 1°.Other process parameters were kept *** and microstructure analysis,microhardness measurement,scanning electron micrograph,transmission electron micrograph and energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis were performed to evaluate the lap shear strength of friction stir lap welded *** proved that,defect-free weld joint was obtained while using a tool tilt angle of 1°to 3°.However,sound joints were welded using a tool tilt angle of 2°,which had the maximum lap shear strength of 14.42 kN and microhardness of HV *** joints welded using tool tilt angles of 1°and 3°yielded inferior lap shear strength due to unbalanced material flow in the weld region during FSW.

Approximate Solution of Non-Linear Reaction Diffusion Equations in Homogeneous Processes Coupled to Electrode Reactions for CE Mechanism at a Spherical Electrode

The pH and chloride ion concentration within the rust of low alloy steels were monitored using tungsten/tungsten oxide microelectrode and silver/silver chloride microelectrode probes after wet/ dry corrosion testing using 0.5% mass sodium chloride solution. The pH value of the carbon steel within the rust is found to be declined to very low values with the number of cycles in the corrosion test, which indicated that Cl ions penetrates in to the inner rust. How ever, pH values monitored for the steel containing 0.8 mass % Al, 3.0 mass % Ni and 2.0 mass % Si showed only a marginal decrease in pH within the rust. Based on these results, the rust formed on the low alloy steels prevents the formation of acidity within the rust., which in turn, these alloys exhibits excellent corrosion resistance. Hence, the alloying elements namely Al, Ni and Si plays a vital role in the rust formation of low alloy steels, prevents the ingress of chloride ions which in turn decreases the pH within the rust.

A mathematical model of CE reaction schemes under first or pseudo-first order conditions with different diffusion coefficients at a spherical electrode under non-steady-state conditions is described. The model is based on non-stationary diffusion equation containing a non-linear reaction term. This paper presents the complex numerical method (Homotopy perturbation method) to solve the system of non-linear differential equation that describes the homogeneous processes coupled to electrode reaction. In this paper the approximate analytical expressions of the non-steady-state concentrations and current at spherical electrodes for homogeneous reactions mechanisms are derived for all values of the reaction diffusion parameters. These approximate results are compared with the available analytical results and are found to be in good agreement.

A Mathemataical model for a modified micro- cylinder electrode in which polyphenol oxidase ( PPO) occurs for all values of the concentration of catechol and o-quinone is analysed. This model is based on system of reaction-diffusion Equations containing a non-linear term related to Michaelis Menten kinetics of the enzymatic reaction. Here a new analytical technique Homotopy Perturbation Method is used to solve the system of non-linear differential Equations that describe the diffusion coupled with a Michaelis-Menten kinetics law. Here we report an analytical expressions pretaining to the concentration of catechol and o-quinone and corresponding current in terms of dimensionless reaction-diffusion parameters in closed form. An excellent agreement with available limiting case is noticed.
