Photocatalytic degradation of Bisphenol A （BPA）, a representative endocrine disruptor chemical, was carried out under irradiation of sunlight in the presence of CexZn1-xO nanophotocatalyst. Cerium （Ce） ions were successfully incorpor.t.d into the bulk lattice of ZnO by simple co-precipitation process. the CexZn1-xO composite nanostructures exhibited higher photocatalytic efficiency than pure ZnO in the degradation of BPA under sunlight irradiation and nearly complete mineralization of BPA was achieved. the degradation r.t. was strongly dependent on factors such as the size and structure of catalyst, doping material concentr.t.on, BPA concentr.t.on, catalyst load, irradiation time and pH levels. this work suggested that the CexZn1-xO assisted photocatalytic degradation is a versatile, economic, environmentally benign and efficient method for BPA removal in the aqueous environment.

Samarium doped vertically aligned one dimensional ZnO nanorod（Nr） arrays were grown by vapor phase transport（VPt） method through vapor solid（VS） growth process. Influence of different concentr.t.ons（0% to 8%） of Sm（all Sm contents in the paper are in mass fraction） on the ZnO Nr arrays were investigated by X-ray diffraction（XrD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）, photoluminescence（PL）, raman spectroscopy and vibr.t.ng sample magnetometry（VSM） techniques, respectively. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the ZnO Nr arrays were perfectly oriented along（002） crystallographic orientation with wurtzite crystal structure. Photoluminescence results showed an increase in oxygen vacancies due to increase in Sm doping. M-H curves revealed enhanced ferromagnetic behavior, and the magnetic moment values were 0.45, 0.363, 1.694, 3.613 and 2.197 emu/cm^3 for（0–8%） Sm doped ZnO Nr arrays respectively. the curve revealed that paramagnetic behavior was observed for undoped ZnO Nr arrays and on increasing the Sm dopant to 4%, paramagnetic switched to ferromagnetic behavior.

the Linz-Donawitz（LD） steelmaking process produces LD slag at a r.t. of about 125 kg/t. After metallic scrap recovery, the non-metallic LD slag is rejected because its physical/chemical properties are unsuitable for recycling. X-ray diffraction（XrD） studies have indicated that non-metallic LD slag contains a substantial quantity of mineral phases such as di- and tricalcium silicates. the availability of these mineral phases indicates that LD slag can be recycled by iron（Fe）-ore sintering. However, the presence of 1.2wt% phosphorus（P） in the slag renders the material unsuitable for sintering oper.t.ons. Electron probe microscopic analysis（EPMA） studies indicated concentr.t.on of phosphorus in dicalcium silicate phase as calcium phosphate. the Fe-bearing phases（i.e., wustite and dicalcium ferr.t.） showed compar.t.vely lower concentr.t.ons of P compared with other phases in the slag. Attempts were made to lower.t.e P content of LD slag by adopting various beneficiation techniques. Dry high-intensity magnetic separ.t.on and jigging were performed on as-received samples with particle sizes of 6 and 3 mm. Spiral separ.t.on was conducted using samples ground to sizes of less than 1 and 0.5 mm. Among these studies, grinding to 0.5 mm followed by spiral concentr.t.on demonstr.t.d the best results, yielding a concentr.t. with about 0.75wt% P and 45wt% Fe.

Environmental crises,land degradation,declining factor productivity,and farm profitability questioned the sustainability of linear economy-based existing agricultural production ***,there is a dire need to design and develop circular economy-based production systems to meet the twin objectives of environmental sustainability and food ***,the productive capacity,natural resource conserving ability,and biomass recycling potential of four intensified maize-based systems ***(Zea mays)+sweet potato(Ipomoea batatas)-wheat,maize+colocasia(Colocasia esculenta)-wheat,maize+turmeric(Curcuma longa),and maize+ginger(Zingiber officinale)were tested consecutively for.t.ree years(2020,2021 and 22)in a fixed plot manner at Dehradun region of the Indian Himalaya against the existing maize-wheat *** result showed that the maize+sweet potato-wheat system significantly reduced runoff loss(166.3 mm)over.t.e maize-wheat *** highest through fall(68.12%)and the lowest stem flow(23.54%)were recorded with sole *** the contrary,the maize+sweet potato system has the highest stem flow(36.15%)and the lowest through ***,the maize+sweet potato system had 5.6 times lesser soil erosion and 0.77 t ha^(-1)higher maize pro-ductivity over.t.e maize-wheat ***,the maize+sweet potato system recorded significantly higher soil moisture(19.3%),infiltr.t.on r.t.(0.95 cm h^(-1)),and organic carbon(0.78%)over.t.e rest of the *** maize+sweet potato system also recycled the highest nitrogen(299.2 kg ha^(-1)),phosphorus,(31.0 kg ha^(-1)),and potassium(276.2 kg ha^(-1))into the soil ***,it can be inferred that concurrent cultivation of sweet potato,with maize,is a soil-supportive,resource-conserving,and productive production model and can be recommended for achieving the circular economy targets in the Indian Himalayas.

the current communication reports in vitro characterization of the optimized hollow floating microballoons of amoxicillin on the basis of micromer.t.c properties and in vitro minimum inhibitory concentr.t.on(MIC).Amoxicillin loaded hollow microballoons were prepared by emulsion solvent diffusion *** morphological characterization was done on the basis of scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Fourier.t.ansformed Infrared Spectroscopy(FtIr)was used to investigate drugepolymer *** correlation between the in vitro buoyancy of microballoons and their physical properties,*** and porosity were *** results of FtIr spectroscopy revealed the absence of any drugepolymer *** porosity values of more than 69%and diameter.t. thickness r.t.o greater.t.an 2.90,proved a high cavity volume within the microballoons in all size *** spherical shape of microballoons with hollow internal cavity was confirmed from SEM *** in vitro MIC results showed a sustained drug effect from the *** conclusion,it can be said that the developed microballoons can be used for.t.e effective treatment of Helicobacter pylori induced gastric ulcer.

A Compar.t.ve Study on the Corrosion Behaviour of Hard Anodic Coatings on AA 6061 Obtained Using DC and Pulsed DC Power Sources

the corrosion behaviour of the hard anodic coatings prepared by three different methods viz., conventional hard anodizing （C-HA）, pulse hard anodizing （P-HA） and low voltage room temper.t.re pulse hard anodizing （LVP- HA） on AA 6061 was compared using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy （EIS） and linear polarisation. Scanning electron microscope （SEM） was used to study the surface morphology before and after corrosion. EIS data revealed that no significant difference in corrosion resistance was observed among three types. rp, Icorr and Ecorr were found to be highly stable over.t.e exposure period up to 72 h which confirms the excellent corrosion resistance. the studies indicate that the corrosion resistance of LVP-HA and P-HA, which are processed at lower voltage and at relatively higher.t.mper.t.res, are comparable to that of C-HA which is processed at sub-zero temper.t.res and high oper.t.ng voltages. the corrosion resistance of all coatings was found to be improved after hydr.t.ermal sealing.

the Ypresian Cambay Shale Formation at Vastan and Mangrol lignite mines in Gujar.t. western India, has yielded a rich vertebr.t. fauna with numerous taxa of European affinities. Here we report a new, approximately contemporary vertebr.t. assemblage from two fossiliferous layers in the nearby mine of tadkeshwar. these layers have yielded a similar mammal fauna with the co-occurrence of the perissodactyl-like cambaytheriid Cambaytherium thewissi, the adapoid primates Marcgodinotius indicus and cf. Asiadapis cambayensis, and the hyaenodontid lndohyaenodon raoi. the presence of these species in both Vastan and tadkeshwar mines and at different levels suggests that the deposits between the two major lignite seams represent a single land mammal age. Apart from the aforementioned species there is a new, smaller species of Cambaytherium, and a new genus and species of esthonychid tillodont. this fauna also contains the fir.t.large early Eocene vertebr.t.s from India, including an unidentified Coryphodon-like pantodont, a dyrosaurid crocodyliform and a new giant madtsoiid snake. Among the tadkeshwar vertebr.t.s several taxa are of Gondwana affinities, such as Pelomedusoides turtles, dyr- osaurids, and large madtsoiids, attesting that the early Eocene was a crucial period in India during which Laurasian taxa of European affinities co-existed with relict taxa from Gondwana before the India-Asia collision. Our results suggest that terrestrial faunas could have dispersed to or from Europe during episodes of contact between the Indian subcontinent and different island blocks along the northern margin of the Neotethys, such as the Kohistan Ladakh island-arc system. Gondwana taxa might represent remnants of ghost lineages shared with Madagascar, which reached the Indian subcontinent during the late Cr.t.ceous; alternatively they might have come from North Africa and passed along the southern margin of the Neotethys to reach the Indian subcontinent. these dispersals would have been

Objectives: threatened miscarriage is the most common complication of pregnancy, occurring in 20% - 25% of ongoing pregnancies. the purpose is to study maternal and perinatal outcome in women with threatened miscarriage. Methods: A prospective study was conducted over a period of 20 months in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Pannadhay Mahila Chikitsalaya, a tertiary care center in Udaipur, India. It included a cohort of pregnant patients with a history of threatened miscarriage during the fir.t.twenty weeks of pregnancy. they were registered, followed up prospectively at antenatal clinics and delivered in the same hospital. For.t.e purpose of comparison, another group of booked patients (controls) without a history of threatened miscarriage were recruited, similarly scanned and followed throughout pregnancy and labour. All women were matched for age, par.t., social class, BMI and gestational age at booking. Discr.t. variables were taken as counts (or frequencies) and were evaluated by Chi-square test. Continuous variables with normal distribution were presented as mean ± standard deviation (SD) and were compared by unpaired Student’s t test. Data were fed into a Microsoft Excel worksheet and were analyzed by using the SPSS ver.17 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA). p-value > 0.05 was considered statistically significant. results: Out of 62 cases, 13 (21%) patients spontaneously aborted after diagnosis of threatened miscarriage. Women with threatened miscarriage had a significantly higher incidence of low lying placenta (p = 0.02) when compared with those without fir.t.rimester bleeding. they were more likely to experience PrOM (p = 0.02), pr.t.rm delivery (p = 0.02) and to have babies with low Birthweight (p = 0.03). Conclusion: Pregnancies complicated by threatened miscarriage are at a higher risk for obstetric complications.

Several dual metal cyanide catalysts were prepared from potassium ferrocyanide,metal chloride(where metal = Zn2+,Mn2+,Ni2+,Co2+ and Fe2+),t-butanol(complexing agent) and PEG-4000(co-complexing agent).the catalysts were characterized by elemental analysis(CHN and X-ray fluorescence),X-ray diffraction,N2 adsor.t.on-desor.t.on,scanning electron microscopy,Fourier.t.ansform infrared spectroscopy,and UV-Visible *** dual metal cyanide catalysts were used in several acid catalyzed multi-component coupling reactions for.t.e synthesis of pharmaceutically important organic *** all these reactions,the Fe-Fe containing dual metal cyanide catalyst was the best *** catalysts can be recycled without loss in catalytic *** advantage of this method is the use of mild,efficient and reusable catalysts for various reactions,which makes them candidates for commercial use.
