There has been a considerable development in microfluidic based immunodiagnostics over the past few years which has greatly favored the growth of novel point-of-care-testing(POCT).However,the realization of an inexpensive,low-power POCT needs cheap and disposable microfluidic devices that can perform autonomously with minimum user *** work.for the first time,reports the development of a new microchannel capillary flow assay(MCFA)platform that can perform chemiluminescence based ELISA with lyophilized chemiluminescent *** new MCFA platform exploits the ultra-high sensitivity of chemiluminescent detection while eliminating the shortcomings associated with liquid reagent handling,control of assay sequence and user *** functionally designed microchannels along with adequate hydrophilicity produce a sequential flow of assay reagents and autonomously performs the ultra-high sensitive chemiluminescence based ELISA for the detection of malaria biomark.r such as *** MCFA platform with no external flow control and simple chemiluminescence detection can easily communicate with smartphone via USB-OTG port using a custom-designed optical *** use of the smartphone for display,data transfer,storage and analysis,as well as the source of power allows the development of a smartphone based POCT analyzer for disease *** paper reports a limit of detection(LOD)of 8 ng/mL by the smartphone analyzer which is sensitive enough to detect active malarial *** MCFA platform developed with the smartphone analyzer can be easily customized for different biomark.rs,so a hand-held POCT for various infectious diseases can be envisaged with full network.ng capability at low cost.

China’s long-term,low-emission development goals will hinge on effective low-carbon ***,it is valuable to evaluate the costs and benefits of low-carbon policy pack.ges to ensure that low-carbon development concepts and strategies can be well integrated into the policy mak.ng *** work.uses the Low-carbon Policy Assessment(LPA)model to assess long-term costs and benefits of climate and energy policies in China under the reference(RS)scenario and the low-carbon(LC)scenario,which includes 25 additional climate and energy *** the LC scenario,both energy-related CO2 emissions and total greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions peak.around 2030,achieving China’s Nationally Determined Contribution(NDC)*** the policies included in the LC scenario,the five with the highest GHG mitigation potential beyond China’s existing policies are:fluorinated gas(F-gas)substitution,a renewable portfolio standard,carbon pricing,carbon capture utilization and storage(CCUS),and a fuel economy standard for heavy duty vehicles(HDVs).In addition to reducing GHG emissions,these policies decrease particulate emissions and associated premature deaths,which would otherwise reduce China’s GDP by nearly 1.5%in ***,these policies have the potential to promote significant low-carbon prosperity in China.

There are two very common sayings about corpse (dead body). The first common saying is that “the corpse is a silent witness who never lies” and the other common saying is that “the dead body is extremely eloquent and honestly informative, if one exercises patience in listening to it.” Both these sayings were proved in one of our cases. In the present case, decomposed body of an unidentified female individual aged about 25 - 26 years was recovered from the bank.of western Yamuna canal in Haryana. The police made the efforts for establishing the identity of the deceased but could not succeed. The body was forwarded to the district hospital for autopsy along with the inquest report. However, the body being in advanced stage of decomposition so it was referred from the district hospital to the department of Forensic Medicine, PGIMS, Rohtak.(Haryana) for the examination and the expert opinion regarding the cause of death. The findings observed on examination of the body helped to deduce the cause, time and manner of death whereas certain important objective features of identification were also observed and ultimately proper identity of the deceased could be established beyond the reasonable doubt by DNA profile of the samples preserved at autopsy. The autopsy findings, DNA profile and the results of examination of other materials (exhibits) tak.n from the body not only revealed the truth from the silent witness—the corpse, but also provided objective and scientific evidence to establish the corpus delicti in this case.

In tropical countries lik. India,malaria has been one of the most common parasitic illnesses leading to frequent hospitalization and causing major economic burden among the masses. Although Plasmodium vivax infection is considered to be benign,in contrast to Plasmodium, falciparum infection which is notorious for its severe splenic complications can occur frequently. Splenomegaly tends not to receive special attention,as it is not usually accompanied by any symptoms and can be gradually resolved via standard antimalarial *** infarction, although rarely attributable to malaria in an endemic region with high parasitemia,can be a rare presentation of this disease entity.

要实现新型换流变压器的产业化,制定与新型换流变压器配套的保护方案是重要的前提。文中对基于变压器模型的变压器保护原理进行研究,并将该保护原理的思路运用于新型换流变压器保护方案设计中,而且对动作特性方程进行梯形积分来构成保护判据。仿真结果验证了该保护方案可快速可靠地识别新型换流变压器正常运行状态和内部故障状态,并能有效地减少差分代替微分的误差,可以用作新型换流变压器微机主保护。

BACk.ROUND: Diagnostic imaging is an integral aspect of care that is often insufficient, if not altogether absent, in rural and remote regions of low to middle income countries(LMICs) such as Tanzania. The introduction of ultrasound can significantly impact treatment in these countries due to its portability, low cost, safety, and usefulness in various medical assessments. This study reviews the implementation of a four-week.ultrasound course administered annually from 2013–2016 in a healthcare professional school in Mwanza, Tanzania by first-year allopathic US medical ***: Participants(n=582, over 4 years) were recruited from the Tandabui Institute of Health Sciences and Technology to tak. the ultrasound course. Subjects were predominantly clinical officer students, but other participants included other healthcare professional students, practicing healthcare professionals, and school employees. Data collected includes pre-course examination scores, post-course examination scores, course quiz scores, demographic surveys, and postcourse feedback.surveys. Data was analyzed using two-tailed t-tests and the single factor analysis of variance(ANOVA).RESULTS: For all participants who completed both the pre-and post-course examinations(n=229, 39.1% of the total recruited), there was a significant mean improvement in their ultrasound k.owledge of 42.5%, Pk. in Tanzania. Future investigation into the level of long-term k.owledge retention, impact of ultrasound training on k.owledge of human anatomy and diagnostic capabilities, and how expansion of an ultrasound curriculum has impacted access to care in rural Tanzania is warranted.

Back.round:Carbapenems are effective against severe Pseudomonas aeruginosa nosocomial ***,carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a serious public health *** understanding of the risk.of inappropriate exposure to different antimicrobials in resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection could help in elucidating the effective approach towards using antimicrobials in vulnerable patients with CRPA ***:To investigate the association between exposure ofβ-lactam antimicrobials and CRPA infection relative to control ***:The MEDLINE/PubMed and OVID/Embase databases were used to search case-control and cohort studies in English language which reported antimicrobial exposure as risk.factors for CRPA *** pooled odds ratios(OR)were calculated using a random-effect and fixed-effect model,and forest plots from a cumulative meta-analysis method were used to better show how pooled OR changed as updated evidence ***:A total of 24 studies comprising 7039 participants were included for cumulative meta-analysis.A positive correlation was found between development of CRPA infection and exposure of beta-lactam antimicrobials:carbapenems(OR=7.60,95%CI:3.95 to 14.62,Pk. quinolone(OR=2.35,95%CI:1.78 to 3.10),ciprofloxacin(OR=2.35,95%CI:1.66 to 3.95),aminoglycoside(OR=2.17,95%CI:1.60 to 2.95),amik.cin(OR=3.11,95%CI:2.10 to 4.61),glycopeptides(OR=3.02,95%CI:1.92 to 4.75)and vancomycin(OR=3.26,95%CI:1.48 to 7.18),were also found to be positively associated with development of CRPA ***:Exposure of all k.nds ofβ-lactams is significantly associated with development of carbapenemresistant Pseudomo
