Distributed renewable energy sources offer significant alternatives for Qatar and the Arab Gulf region’s future fuel supply and *** are essential for providing dependable power in difficult-to-reach areas while incorporating significant amounts of renewable energy *** energy-efficient data centers,distributed generation can be used to meet the facility’s overall power *** study primarily focuses on the best energy management practices for a smart microgrid in Qatar while taking demandside load management into *** article looked into a university microgrid in Qatar that primarily aimed to get all of its energy from the *** diesel generators are categorized as a dispatchable distributed generation with energy storage added to handle solar radiation from the sun and high grid power operating costs in the suggested scenario,wind turbines and solar Photovoltaic(PV)are classified as non-dispatchable distributed *** resulting linear math issues are assessed and displayed in MATLAB optimization software using a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)*** to the simulation results,the suggested energy management strategy reduced the university microgrid’s grid power costs by 38.8%,making it an affordable solution which is somehow greater than the prior case scenario’s 23%*** installed solar system capacity’s effects on the economy,society,and finances were also assessed,and it became clear that the best option for the smart microgrid was determined that would be 325 kW of solar PV,25 kW of wind turbine,and 600 kW of diesel generators,*** the current situation,university administrators are urged to participate in distributed generators and adopt cutting-edge designs for energy storage technologies due to the significant environmental and financial benefits.

Understanding the probabilistic nature of brittle materials due to inherent dispersions in their mechanical properties is important to assess their reliability and safety for sensitive engineering *** is all the more important when elements composed of brittle materials are exposed to dynamic environments,resulting in catastrophic fatigue *** authors propose the application of a non-intrusive polynomial chaos expansion method for probabilistic studies on brittle materials undergoing fatigue fracture when geometrical parameters and material properties are random independent *** the probabilistic nature of fatigue fracture in brittle materials is crucial for ensuring the reliability and safety of engineering structures subjected to cyclic *** growth is modelled using a phase-field approach within a finite element *** modelling fatigue,fracture resistance is progressively degraded by modifying the regularised free energy functional using a fatigue degradation *** of cycles to failure is treated as the dependent variable of interest and is estimated within acceptable limits due to the randomness in independent *** 2D benchmark problems are solved to demonstrate the ability of this approach to predict the dependent variable responses with significantly fewer simulations than the Monte Carlo *** proposed approach can accurately predict results typically obtained through 105 or more runs in Monte Carlo simulations with a reduction of up to three orders of magnitude in required *** independent random variables’sensitivity to the system response is determined using Sobol’*** proposed approach has low computational overhead and can be useful for computationally intensive problems requiring rapid decision-making in sensitive applications like aerospace,nuclear and biomedical *** technique does not require reformulating existing finite element code and can

AIM:To determine the incidence and factors responsible for anastomotic leaks and stricture following anterior resection(AR)and its subsequent ***:Retrospective analysis of data from 108 patients with rectal carcinoma who underwent AR or low anterior resection(LAR)to identify the various preoperative,operative,and post operative factors that might have influence on anastomotic leaks and ***:There were 68 males and 40 females with an average of 47 years(range 21-75 years).The median distance of the tumor from the anal verge was 8 cm(range 3-15 cm).Sixty(55.6%)patients underwent handsewn anastomosis and 48(44.4%)were *** median operating time was 3.5 h(range2.0-7.5 h).Sixteen(14.6%)patients had an anastomotic *** these,11 patients required reexploration and five were managed *** anastomotic leak rate was similar in patients with and without diverting stoma(8/60,13.4%with stoma and 8/48;16.7%without stoma).In 15(13.9%)patients,resection margins were positive for ***(17.6%)patients developed anastomotic strictures at a median duration of 8 mo(range 3-20 mo).Among these,15 patients were successfully managed with per-anal *** multivariate analysis,advance age(>60 years)was the only risk factor for anastomotic leak(P=0.004).On the other hand,anastomotic leak(P=0.00),mucin positive tumor(P =0.021),and lower rectal growth(P=0.011)were found as risk factors for the development of an anastomotic ***:Advance age is a risk factor for an anastomotic *** anastomotic leak,a mucin-secreting tumor,and lower rectal growth predispose patients to develop anastomotic strictures.

In the present investigation, composites with silicon carbide particle （SiCp） as reinforcement and AZ91 magnesium alloy as matrix have been synthesized using liquid metal stir-casting technique with optimized processing conditions. The composites with good particle distribution in the matrix, and better grain refinement and good interfacial bonding between the matrix and reinforcement have been obtained. The effect of SiCp content on the physical, mechanical, and tribological properties of Mg-based metal matrix composite （MMC） is studied with respect to particle distribution, grain refinement, and particle/matrix interfacial reactions. The electrical conductivity, coefficient of thermal expansion, microas well as macro-hardness, tensile and compressive properties, and the fracture behavior of the composites along with dry sliding wear of the composites have been evaluated and compared with the base alloy.
