Density （ρ） and viscosity （η） measurements were carried out for 4-aminobutyric acid in 0.0041,0.0125 and 0.0207 mol·L-1 aqueous salbutamol sulphate at T=308.15,313.15 and *** measured values of density and viscosity were used to estimate some important parameters such as apparent molar volume Vφ,limiting apparent molar volume Vφ0,transfer volume △Vφ0,hydration number Hn,second derivative of infinite dilution of partial molar volume with temperature 2Vφ0/T2,viscosity B-coefficients,variation of B with temperature dB/dT,free energy of activation per mole of solvent △μ10＊ and solute △μ20＊,activation entropy △S20＊ and activation enthalpy △H20＊ of the amino *** parameters have been interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions and structure making/breaking ability of solutes in the given solution.

A six level regional primitive equation model has been formulated and tested for monsoon prediction. The model uses dynamic normal mode initialization scheme for obtaining initial balance. The physical processes included are: the large scale condensation, the Kuo type of cumulus convection, the surface friction, the sensible heat supply and evaporation over the sea. The actual smooth orography is included. The model has been integrated for 48 hrs using input of 7 July and 8 August 1979 when the domain of integration was dominated by an intense monsoon depression. In order to investigate the model simulation of formative stage of the depression, the model was also integrated using input of 4 July ***, the envelope orography has been constructed and included in the model for investigating its effects on the monsoon prediction. Results of the model forecast are presented and discussed.

A rapid, sensitive and selective pseudo MRM（p MRM）-based method for the determination of solutol HS15（SHS15） in rat plasma was developed using liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry（LC–MS/MS）. The most abundant ions corresponding to SHS15 free polyethyleneglycol（PEG）oligomers at m/z 481, 525, 569, 613, 657, 701, 745, 789, 833, 877, 921 and 965 were selected for p MRM in electrospray mode of ionization. Purity of the lipophilic and hydrophilic components of SHS15 was estimated using evaporative light scattering detector（ELSD）. Plasma concentrations of SHS15 were measured after oral administration at 2.50 g/kg dose and intravenous administration at 1.00 g/kg dose in male Sprague Dawley rats. SHS15 has poor oral bioavailability of 13.74% in rats. Differences in pharmacokinetics of oligomers were studied. A novel proposal was conveyed to the scientific community,where formulation excipient could be analyzed as a qualifier in the analysis of new chemical entities（NCEs） to address the spiky plasma concentration profiles.

Optical and Microstructural Characterisations of Pulsed rf Magnetron Sputtered Alumina Thin Film

Alumina thin films were deposited on fused quartz and SS304 substrate by pulsed rf magnetron sputtering with both direct and reactive methods. The films were characterised by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy to reveal the microstructure, surface morphology and topography of thin films. Transmittance and reflectance of alumina thin film were evaluated after deposition on the quartz substrate. Transmittance of the quartz remains almost un-altered when alumina was deposited by the reactive sputtering. A marginal decrease of ~4% in the transmittance of quartz was, however, observed after deposition of alumina by direct sputtering. Infrared emittance of the substrate also remains almost constant after deposition of thin alumina film. Further, as-deposited alumina on SS304 obtained by both direct and reactive sputtering process was amorphous in nature. However, after annealing crystalline peaks were observed.

Experimental tests have been carried out to evaluate the performance,emission and combustion characteristics of a diesel engine using neat sea lemon oil and its blends of 25%,50%,&75%and standard diesel fuel *** common problems posed when using vegetable oil in a compression ignition engine are poor atomization,carbon deposits,ring sticking *** is because of the high viscosity and low volatility of vegetable *** blended with diesel,sea lemon oil presented lower viscosity,improved volatility,better combustion and less carbon *** was found that there was reduction in NO for neat sea lemon oil and its diesel blends along with marginal increase in smoke,HC and CO emissions compared to that of standard *** thermal efficiency was slightly lower for neat sea lemon oil and its diesel *** the combustion analysis,it was found that sea lemon oil-diesel blends performed better than neat sea lemon oil.

Embedding the original high dimensional data in a low dimensional space helps to overcome the curse of dimensionality and removes noise. The aim of this work is to evaluate the performance of three different linear dimensionality reduction techniques (DR) techniques namely principal component analysis (PCA), multi dimensional scaling (MDS) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) on classification of cardiac arrhythmias using probabilistic neural network classifier (PNN). The design phase of classification model comprises of the following stages: preprocessing of the cardiac signal by eliminating detail coefficients that contain noise, feature extraction through daubechies wavelet transform, dimensionality reduction through linear DR techniques specified, and arrhythmia classification using PNN. Linear dimensionality reduction techniques have simple geometric representations and simple computational properties. Entire MIT-BIH arrhythmia database is used for experimentation. The experimental results demonstrates that combination of PNN classifier (spread parameter, σ = 0.08) and PCA DR technique exhibits highest sensitivity and F score of 78.84% and 78.82% respectively with a minimum of 8 dimensions.

Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater:a clinicopathologic evaluation

BACKGROUND:Only 105 cases of neuroendocrine tumor(NET)of the ampulla of Vater have been described, mostly as single case *** incidence of NET is *** changes in incidence may result from changes in *** study was to determine the relative incidence and clinicopathological characteristics of high- grade neuroendocrine carcinoma(small cell carcinoma and large cell carcinoma)of the ampulla of Vater at a single institution. METHODS:Sections from paraffin blocks of tumors of the ampulla of Vater taken from 45 patients who underwent Whipple’s procedure and 6 patients who underwent palliative bypass between September 2003 and January 2007 were subjected to immunohistochemical *** clinical and pathological data from 5 patients diagnosed with NET of the ampulla of Vater were analyzed. RESULTS:The patients were 3 men and 2 women,ranging in age from 39 to 47 years(mean 44 years).Operative procedures included Whipple’s procedure in 4 patients and palliative bypass in 1 *** examination revealed large-cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in 2 patients,small cell carcinoma in 2,and carcinoid in *** patients with high-grade neuroendocrine carcinoma who had undergone Whipple’s procedure died at postoperatively 7,11,and 13 *** patient who had undergone palliative triple bypass died 3 months after ***:The relative incidence of high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas of the ampulla of Vater is higher than that generally *** tumors behave aggressively and have a dismal prognosis despite aggressive treatment.
