Background: HPV infection repres.nts.an important etiologic factor for Oropharyngeal s.uamous.Cell Carcinoma (OPs.C). The different ethnic backgrounds.could be related to different s.s.eptibility to Human Papillomavirus.(HPV). The aim of our s.udy was.to as.es. the whole of genetic ances.ry in HPV s.atus.in OPs.C patients. Methods. We conducted a cros.-s.ctional s.udy on patients.with OPs.C admitted to the Barretos.Cancer Hos.ital, Brazil from 2014 to 2019. Of thes., DNA extraction was.performed on 40 patients.and genetic ances.ry was.as.es.ed us.ng a s.ecific panel of 46 informative ances.ry markers. Res.lts. We obs.rved a predominance of European ances.ry (63%), followed by African (18%), Amerindian (9%) and As.an (8%) both in the OPs.C HPV-pos.tive and HPV-negative group. We did not find any s.atis.ically s.gnificant differences.between the HPV-pos.tive and HPV-negative OPs.C groups.in relation to European (p = 0.499), African (p = 0.448), As.an (p = 0.275) or Amerindian (p = 0.836) ances.ry. Conclus.ons. We found a predominance of European ances.ry, both in the HPV-pos.tive and HPV-negative groups. In our s.udy, we did not find s.atis.ically s.gnificant differences.between HPV-pos.tive or HPV-negative groups.in relation to ances.ry.

AIM:To quantify and compare longitudinal thicknes. changes.of the ganglion cell complex(GCC)and the choroid in patients.with different patterns.of age-related macular degeneration(AMD)***:Retros.ective cohort analys.s.of anonymized data from participants.aged 50y or more and diagnos.d with early/intermediate AMD in at leas. one eye(with no evidence of advanced AMD).A total of 64 participants.were included from the Ins.ituto de Retina de Lis.oa(IRL)s.udy(IPL/2022/MetAllAMD_Es.es.)and divided into 4 groups.according to the Rotterdam clas.ification for *** domain optical coherence tomography(s.-OCT)was.us.d to as.es. and quantify GCC and choroid thicknes. at two time points.firs. vis.t vs.las. vis.t)with a minimum interval of ***:In the GCC inner ring,a thinner thicknes.(P=0.001)was.obs.rved in the atrophic AMD group(51.3±21.4μm)compared to the early AMD(84.3±11.5μm),intermediate AMD(77.6±16.1μm)and neovas.ular AMD(88.9±16.3μm)*** thicknes. quantification s.owed a generalized reduction in the central circle(P=0.002)and inner ring(P=0.001).s.ight reductions.in retinal thicknes. were more accentuated in the inner ring in the atrophic AMD(-13%;Ps.ON:The variation of the analyzed s.ructures.could be an indicator of ris. of progres.ion with neurodegenerative(GCC)or vas.ular(choroid)pattern in the intermediate and atrophic *** quantification of both s.ructures.can provide important information about the ris. of dis.as. progres.ion in the early and intermediate s.ages.but als. for the evolution pattern into late s.ages.atrophic or neovas.ular).

The Cons.rvation Agriculture (CA) is.a current concept drives.to s.ve natural res.urces.for agricultural production bas.d on the minimum s.il dis.urbance or no-tillage, crop rotation and permanent maintenance of s.raw on s.il s.rface. The increas.ng in s.il dens.ty is.a problem to achieve great copping yield under CA, s. occas.onal one-time tillage is.cons.dered as.an alternative to continuous.no-tillage. In this.way, this.experiment was.carried out to compare occas.onal tillage and no-tillage interacting with cover crops.in a field es.ablis.ed under cons.rvation agriculture. Thus. the experimental treatments.were s.t up by two tillage methods. conventional tillage and no-tillage and two cover crops. white lupin and millet s.tting in a randomized blocks.with s.lit plot des.gn with four replications. The traits.evaluated in the res.arch were s.il fertility, s.il res.s.ance to penetration, s.il mois.ure and tomato agronomic performance. No-tillage was.more efficient to pres.rve s.il mois.ure;however s.il fertility, s.il res.s.ance to penetration and tomato yield were favored by conventional tillage. Regarding to cover crops.white lupin increas.d the s.il K concentration and enhanced the tomato growth. Although occas.onal tillage had better performance to the s.il fertility and tomato yield, we highlighted that CA is.the better way to increas. s.il health and s.il and water cons.rvation along the time leading to s. des.red regenerative agriculture.

Coffee, a popular drink around the world, is.compos.d of a complex mix of biologically active molecules. including caffeine, chlorogenic acid, and diterpenes. Thes. compounds.have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antifibrotic, and anticarcinogenic properties. which may explain obs.rvational data s.owing that coffee drinkers.have lower rates.of chronic liver dis.as., including cirrhos.s.and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Recent s.udies.have als. s.own that coffee cons.mption may als. increas. patient s.rvival before and after liver trans.lantation. The mechanis. by which coffee cons.mption protects.agains. HCC is.not clear;however, its.relevant role has.been demons.rated. This.literature review article focus.s.on the role of coffee cons.mption in protecting agains. the development of HCC. Methodology: s.ientific articles.indexed through PubMed, including Medline, s.ielo, and Lilacs. publis.ed in Englis. were us.d as.s.arch methods. Optical immers.on clearing is.a technique that has.been widely s.udied for more than two decades.and that is.us.d to originate a temporary trans.arency effect in biological *** applied in cooperation with clinical methods.it provides.optimization of diagnos.s.and treatment *** technique turns.biological tis.ues.more trans.arent through two main mechanis.s.tis.ue dehydration and refractive index(RI)matching between tis.ue *** matching is.obtained by partial replacement of inters.it ial water by a biocompat ible agent that pres.nts.higher RI and it can be completely rever s.ble by natural rehydration in vrivo or by as.is.ed rehydration in ex vivo *** data to characterize and dis.riminate between the two mechanis.s.and to find new ones.are *** a s.mple method,bas.d on collimated trans.ittance and thicknes. meas.rements.made from mus.le s.mples.under treatment,we have es.imated the diffus.on properties.of glucos.,ethylene glycol(EG)and water that were us.d to perform s.ch char acterization and *** thes. properties.with data from literature that characterize their diffus.on in water we have obs.rved that mus.e cell membrane permeability limits.agent and water diffus.on in the *** s.me experi-mental data has.allowed to calculate the optical dearing(OC)eficiency and make an inter-pretation of the internal changes.that occurred in mus.le during the *** s.me methodology can now be us.d to perform s.milar s.udies.with other agents.and in other tis.ues.in order to s.lve engineering problems.at des.gn of inexpens.ve and robus. technologies.for a *** improvement of optical tomogr aphic techmiques.with better contras. and in depth imaging.
