Zeolites are aluminosilicate compounds with excellent selective,precise adsorption capabilities that find their potential applications in various sectors of the biomaterials and food *** zeolites from ages have been utilized in biomedicine,catalysis,detergent and air purification industries but their commercial applications in the biomaterials and food industry are not studied *** are known to reduce mycotoxins,toxic compounds,heavy metals,and *** present review tries to summarize different arenas of zeolite applications in the biomaterials and food *** article also includes a discussion of individual applications of zeolitic properties like antimicrobial effect,food nanoreactors and intelligent food contact behaviour in ***,sound coverage is given over zeolite classification,their synthesis and the modelling of their adsorption *** outcomes of the review emphasize the commercial viability of zeolites and their potential to serve as a possible alternative to many processing steps which ultimately will economise the production process in the food *** review also emphasizes extensive research that needs to be carried out to further improvise the capabilities of zeolites to overcome the challenges lying around them.

Studies on Rhizospheric Mycoflora of Tea (Camellia sinensis): In vitro Antagonism with Dominant Bacteria

Species of Trichoderma, Penicillium, Aspergillus and Mucor were found to dominate the rhizosphere of tea bushes in different regions of the Indian Himalayas. The Himachal Himalayas were dominated by Monilia humiscola (45.08%) and Mucor hiemalis (33.11%). In the Uttaranchal Himalayas, Aspergillus clavatum dominated the rhizosphere (54.01%), followed by A. flavous (20.07%). Although the fungal isolates require a mesophillic temperature (15 ℃ to 35 ℃), the tea rhizospheric isolates tolerate a wide range of temperatures (5 ℃ to 45 ℃). When tested for pH tolerance, these fungi showed a wide range (2.0 to 13.0) of pH tolerance under in vitro conditions. Seasonal variations also influenced the colony forming units (cfu) of the rhizospheric fungi, with the maximum forming in November and March, and the minimum in December^February. During this period, the populations of the fungi were found inversely proportional to the bacterial populations. In addition, the dominant bacteria in the tea rhizosphere, i.e., Bacillus subtilis and B. mycoides, showed antagonistic activity against fungal isolates by inhibiting the growth and causing structural abnormalities in mycelium. Biochar is a carbon-rich material obtained after thermochemical conversion of biomass under no oxygen *** effect of biochar amendment on soil properties,such as water retention,infiltration and desiccation crack potential was studied in the recent ***,the effect of biochar or feedstock type on these properties is not *** study investigates the effect of two different(in terms of feedstock)types of biochar on the water retention,infiltration and desiccation crack-ing behavior of compacted silty *** retention characteristics,infiltration rate and the progression of desiccation cracks were measured after compacting soil amended with 5-10%(w/w)biochar produced from water hyacinth(WHB)and *** were also taken for an unpyrolyzed material coir pith(CP,sourced from coconut husk)-amended soil for comparing the results of biochar-amended *** results show that the amendment of 5%to 10%biochar increased the maximum water holding capacity(θs),air entry value(AEV)and water content at 1500 kPa(θ1500)of the soil,whereas decreased the infiltration rate and peak crack intensity factor(CIF)of the ***,the application of CP increased the infiltration *** amendment of WHB showed the highest increment in AEV andθ1500 and the highest decrement in infiltration rate and CIF compared to the other *** on the results,it is advisable to use the WHB-amended soil in bioengineered structures that could promote the growth of vegetation by higher water retention and could reduce the potential of leachate formation by decreasing water infiltration and desiccation crack potential.

The prediction of crop yield is one of the important factor and also challenging,to predict the future crop yield based on various criteria’*** advanced technologies are incorporated in the agricultural processes,which enhances the crop yield production *** process of predicting the crop yield can be done by taking agriculture data,which helps to analyze and make important decisions before and during *** paper focuses on the prediction of crop yield,where two models of machine learning are developed for this *** is Modified Convolutional Neural Network(MCNN),and the other model is TLBO(Teacher Learning Based Optimization)-a Genetic algorithm which reduces the input size of *** this work,some spatial information used for analysis is the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index,Standard Precipitation Index and Vegetation Condition *** finds some best feature value set in the data that represents the specific yield of the ***,these selected feature valued set is passed in the Error Back Propagation Neural Network for ***,the training was done in such a way that all set of features were utilized in pair with their yield value as *** increasing the reliability of the work whole experiment was done on a real dataset from Madhya Pradesh region of country *** result shows that the proposed model has overcome various evaluation parameters on different scales as compared to previous approaches adopted by researchers.

Galvanic corrosion of AZ31B joined to dual-phase steel with and without Zn layer by ultrasonic and friction stir welding

Galvanic corrosion of AZ31B joined with bare or Zn-coated DP590 steel by ultrasonic spot welding or linear friction stir welding was quantitatively studied by pre-defining anode and cathode in the lap joint samples. Corrosion volume and depth from Mg anode surfaces exposed to 0.1 M sodium chloride solution was analyzed as functions of cathode surface type and welding method. Characterization of as-welded joints was performed to identify any microstructural feature of the bonding zone that could impact galvanic corrosion *** modeling with modified user subroutine was conducted to simulate the progression of Mg corrosion in the same joint and electrode configurations used for the corrosion experiments. The experimental results indicated that Zn-coated cathode surface can reduce Mg galvanic corrosion significantly as galvanic polarization and cathodic current on Zn-coated surface remained relatively low for Mg in the weld *** modeling described the growth of Mg galvanic corrosion in a reasonable manner but showed limitation by underestimating the corrosion volume as it did not capture self-corrosion.
