Objective:To evaluate the dose and duration dependent cytotoxicity of aroclor 1254 on mice ***: The study tests the hypothesis that in vivo exposure of very low dose aroclor 1254, comparable to that of possible human exposure from different environmental sources, will provoke dose and duration dependent histological damage in the mice testis. Male mice were orally administered with the two doses 0.1 and 1 mg/kg b.w /d. of aroclor 1254 for 7, 14, 21 and 28 ***:Results showed the degenerative changes in the testis of mice, namely, atrophied seminiferous tubules, expanded space in interstitial and necrosis in the germinal epithelial cells of seminiferous tubules, of the seminiferous tubules and deceleration of ***: Therefore, the results of the present study suggested that the sub-acute exposure of very low doses of aroclor 1254, can subsequently mediate the cytoskeleton dysfunction in the testis of mice.

Most of the machineries in small or large-scale industry have rotating elementsupported by bearings for rigid support and accurate movement. For proper functioning ofmachinery, condition monitoring of the bearing is very important. In present study soundsignal is used to continuously monitor bearing health as sound signals of rotatingmachineries carry dynamic information of components. There are numerous studies inliterature that are reporting superiority of vibration signal of bearing fault ***, there are very few studies done using sound signal. The cost associated withcondition monitoring using sound signal (Microphone) is less than the cost of transducerused to acquire vibration signal (Accelerometer). This paper employs sound signal forcondition monitoring of roller bearing by K-star classifier and k-nearest neighborhoodclassifier. The statistical feature extraction is performed from acquired sound signals. Thentwo-layer feature selection is done using J48 decision tree algorithm and random treealgorithm. These selected features were classified using K-star classifier and k-nearestneighborhood classifier and parametric optimization is performed to achieve the maximumclassification accuracy. The classification results for both K-star classifier and k-nearestneighborhood classifier for condition monitoring of roller bearing using sound signals werecompared.

Nutrient-efficient root system architecture(RSA)is becoming an important breeding objective for generating crop varieties with improved nutrient and water acquisition *** variants shaping soybean RSA is key in improving nutrient and water ***,we report on the use of an improved 2-dimensional high-throughput root phenotyping platform that minimizes background noise by imaging pouch-grown root systems submerged in *** also developed a background image cleaning Python pipeline that computationally removes images of small pieces of debris and filter paper fibers,which can be erroneously quantified as root *** platform was used to phenotype root traits in 286 soybean lines genotyped with 5.4 million single-nucleotide *** was a substantially higher correlation in manually counted number of root tips with computationally quantified root tips(95%correlation),when the background was cleaned of nonroot materials compared to root images without the background corrected(79%).Improvements in our RSA phenotyping pipeline significantly reduced overestimation of the root traits influenced by the number of root ***-wide association studies conducted on the root phenotypic data and quantitative gene expression analysis of candidate genes resulted in the identification of 3 putative positive regulators of root system depth,total root length and surface area,and root system volume and surface area of thicker roots(DOF1-like zinc finger transcription factor,protein of unknown function,and C2H2 zinc finger protein).We also identified a putative negative regulator(gibberellin 20 oxidase 3)of the total number of lateral roots.

Electrochemical oxidation/reduction of radicals is a green and environmentally friendly approach to generating *** reactions,however,suffer from sluggish kinetics due to a low local concentration of radicals around the electrocatalyst.A large applied electrode potential can enhance the fuel generation efficiency via enhancing the radical concentration around the electrocatalyst sites,but this comes at the cost of ***,we report about a~45%saving in energy to achieve an electrochemical hydrogen generation rate of 3×10^(16) molecules cm^(–2)s^(–1)(current density:10 mA/cm^(2))through localized electric field-induced enhancement in the reagent concentration(LEFIRC)at laser-induced periodic surface structured(LIPSS)*** finite element model is used to simulate the spatial distribution of the electric field to understand the effects of LIPSS geometric parameters in field *** the LIPSS patterned electrodes are used as substrates to support Pt/C and RuO_(2) electrocatalysts,the η_(10) overpotentials for HER and OER are decreased by 40.4 and 25%,***,the capability of the LIPSS-patterned electrodes to operate at significantly reduced energy is also demonstrated in a range of electrolytes,including alkaline,acidic,neutral,and ***,when two LIPSS patterned electrodes were assembled as the anode and cathode into a cell,it requires 330 mVs of lower electric potential with enhanced stability over a similar cell made of pristine electrodes to drive a current density of 10 mA/cm^(2).This work demonstrates a physical and versatile approach of electrode surface patterning to boost electrocatalytic fuel generation performance and can be applied to any metal and semiconductor catalysts for a range of electrochemical reactions.

BACKGROUND Intravascular lithotripsy(IVL)is a novel technique increasingly used for plaque modification and endovascular revascularization in patients with severe calcification and peripheral artery ***,much of the available literature on IVL is focused on its use in coronary arteries,with relatively limited data on non-coronary artery *** To analyze the safety and efficacy of current IVL use in non-coronary artery lesions,as reported in case reports and case *** We searched EMBASE,PubMed,and Reference Citation Analysis databases for case reports and case series on IVL use in peripheral artery *** then extracted variables of interest and calculated the mean and proportions of these *** We included 60 patients from 33 case reports/case ***-eight percent of the cases had IVL usage in only one blood vessel,while four had the IVL used in two vessels(2.0%),resulting in 64 Lesions treated with *** mean age of the patients was 73.7(SD 10.9).IVL was successfully used in severe iliofemoral artery stenosis(51.6%),severe innominate,subclavian,and carotid artery stenosis(26.7%combined),and severe mesenteric vessel stenosis(9.4%).Additionally,IVL was successfully used in severe renal(7.8%)and aortic artery(4.7%)*** were complications in 12%of the cases,with dissection being the *** IVL has successfully used in plaque modification and endovascular revascularization in severely calcified and challenging lesions in the iliofemoral,carotid,subclavian,aorta,renal,and mesenteric *** most severe but transient complications were with IVL use in the aortic arch and neck arteries.

This research focuses on the application of three soft computing techniques including Minimax Probability Machine Regression(MPMR),Particle Swarm Optimization based Artificial Neural Network(ANN-PSO)and Particle Swarm Optimization based Adaptive Network Fuzzy Inference System(ANFIS-PSO)to study the shallow foundation reliability based on settlement *** is a heterogeneous medium and the involvement of its attributes for geotechnical behaviour in soil-foundation system makes the prediction of settlement of shallow a complex engineering *** study explores the feasibility of soft computing techniques against the deterministic *** settlement of shallow foundation depends on the parametersγ(unit weight),e0(void ratio)and CC(compression index).These soil parameters are taken as input variables while the settlement of shallow foundation as *** assess the performance of models,different performance indices ***,VAF,R^2,Bias Factor,MAPE,LMI,U(95),RSR,NS,RPD,*** *** the analysis of results,it was found that MPMR model outperformed PSO-ANFIS and ***,MPMR can be used as a reliable soft computing technique for non-linear problems for settlement of shallow foundations on soils.

Influence of graphene nanoplatelet incorporation and dispersion state on thermal, mechanical and electrical properties of biodegradable matrices

Graphene nanoplatelets （GNPs） were used as multifunctional nanofiller to enhance thermal and mechanical properties as well as electrical conductivity of two different biodegradable thermoplastics： poly lactide （PLA） and poly （butylene adipate-co-terephthalate）（PBAT）. Morphological investigations showed different levels of GNP dispersion in the two matrices, and consequently physical properties of the two systems exhibited dissimilar behaviours with GNP incorporation. Crystallinity of PLA, determined from differential scanning calorimetry, was observed to increase markedly with addition of GNPs in contrast to the decrease in crystallinity of PBAT. Isothermal and non-isothermal thermogravimetric analyses also revealed a more significant delay in thermal decomposition of PLA upon addition of GNPs compared to that of PBAT. Furthermore, results showed that increasing GNP content of PLA and PBAT nanocomposites influenced their Young＇s modulus and electrical conductivity in different ways. Modulus of PBAT increased continuously with increasing GNP loading while that of PLA reached a maximum at 9wt% GNPs and then decreased. Moreover, despite the higher conductivity of pure PBAT compared to pure PLA, conductivity of PLA/GNP nanocomposites overtook that of PBATIGNP nanocomposites above a certain GNP concentration. This demonstrated the determining effect of nanoplatelets dispersion state on the matrices properties.
