Diabetes mellitus (DM) is marked as global health care challenge with almost 10% of the United States population being diagnosed with DM. A sizeable percentage of patients are oblivious of their disease, in spite of easily accessibility knowledge about its early signs and symptoms and rapid diagnostic modalities. Critically ill patients with undiagnosed DM are likely to have an increased mortality as compared to intensive care unit (ICU) patients with diagnosed DM. DM may have adverse effect on ICU patients causing organ failure and complications. Early Screening of patients at the risk of developing disease may prevent long term complications. Early screening and management may be beneficial as controlled DM patients have similar morbidity as non DM patients in ICU. An intense glycaemic and blood pressure control improves retinopathy and albuminuria, but may not affect the macrovascular outcomes.

Physical and chemical properties of wool surface significantly affect the absorbency,rate of dye bath exhaustion and fixation of the industrial ***,surface modification is a necessary operation prior to coloration process in wool wet processing *** treatment is an effective alternative for physiochemical modification of wool ***,optimum processing parameters to get the expected modification are still under investigation,hence this technology is still under development in the wool wet processing ***,in this paper,treatment parameters with the help of simple dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor and air as a plasma gas,which could be a promising combination for treatment of wool substrate at industrial scale were schematically studied,and their influence on the water absorbency,mechanical,and dyeing properties of twill woven wool fabric samples are *** is expected that the results will assist to the wool coloration industries to improve the dyeing processes.

Kongsfjorden is a fjord in Spitsbergen（Svalbard archipelago）that lies adjacent to both Arctic and Atlantic water masses and is therefore a suitable site to understand the effects of climate change on *** decipher the effect of the lateral advection of transformed Atlantic water （TAW）within the fjord,spatial variations of foraminiferal tests,their test size variations and stable isotopic composition（δ^（13）C andδ^（18）O）in the surface sediments were *** organic carbon and textural analyses were also carried *** dominant benthic foraminifera included Nonionellina labradorica,Elphidium excavatum,Cassidulina reniforme,Quinqueloculina stalkeri and Islandiella *** labradorica was the predominant species in the outer fjord,whereas Elphidium excavatum and Cassidulina reniforme were dominant in the inner *** organic carbon and the test size of Nonionellina labradorica within the fjord were highly correlated（r=0.97）and both showed a decreasing trend towards the inner *** on the distribution and abundance of Nonionellina labradorica as well as temperature profiles,we suggest that there was little or no major change in the lateral advection of TAW within the fjord in the immediate past.

The novel coronavirus 2019(COVID-19)was reported by the World Health Organization in December 2019,and since then it has progressed into a worldwide pandemic,causing significant morbidity and *** symptoms of COVID-19 and elevated liver chemistries are seen in up to 50%of infected *** reports have suggested a high mortality rate for COVID-19 in patients with pre-existing liver disease,having an associated mortality of 39.8%.Alcoholic liver disease is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in New Mexico(USA),and we report here the clinical course and characteristics of three cases of patients with alcoholic cir-rhosis who were admitted to our hospital with COVID-19.

AIM: To compare surgical peeling and aspiration and neodymium yttrium garnet laser capsulotomy for pearl form of posterior capsule opacification(PCO).METHODS: A prospective, randomized, double blind,study was done at rotary Eye Hospital, Maranda,Palampur, India, Santosh Medical College Hospital,Ghaziabad, India and Laser Eye Clinic, Noida *** patients with pearl form of PCO following surgery, phacoemulsification, manual small incision cataract surgery and conventional extracapsular cataract extraction(ECCE) for age related cataract, were randomized to have peeling and aspiration or neodymium yttrium garnet laser capsulotomy. Corrected distance visual acuity(CDVA), intra-operative and postoperative complications were ***: A total of 634 patients participated in the study, and 314(49.5%) patients were randomized to surgical peeling and aspiration group and 320(50.5%) to the Nd:YAG laser group. The mean pre-procedural log MAr CDVA in peeling and neodymium: yttrium-aluminium-garnet(Nd:YAG) laser group was 0.80 ±0.25 and 0.86 ±0.22, respectively. The mean final CDVA in peeling group(0.22 ±0.23) was comparable to Nd:YAG group(0.24 ±0.28; t-test, P =0.240). There was a significant improvement in vision after both the procedures(P r percentage of patients in Nd:YAG laser group(283/88.3%) than in peeling group(262/83.4%) had a CDVA of 0.5(20/63) or better at 9mo(P rary, patients havingCDVA worse than 1.00(20/200) was also significantly higher in Nd:YAG laser group as compared to peeling group(25/7.7% vs 15/4.7%, respectively). On application of ANCOVA, there was less than 0.001% risk that PCO thickness and total laser energy had no effect on rate of complications in Nd:YAG laser group and less than 0.001% risk that PCO thickness had no effect on complications in peeling group respectively. Hepatitis C virus(HCV) infection is a systemic disease that is implicated in multiple extrahepatic organ dysfunction contributing to its protean manifestations. HCV is associated with diverse extrahepatic disorders including atherosclerosis, glucose and lipid metabolic disturbances, alterations in the iron metabolic pathways, and lymphoproliferative diseases over and above the traditional liver manifestations of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The orchestration between HCV major proteins and the liver-muscle-adipose axis, poses a major burden on the global health of human body organs, if not adequately addressed. The close and inseparable associations between chronic HCV infection, metabolic disease, and cardiovascular disorders are specifically important considering the increasing prevalence of obesity and metabolic syndrome, and their economic burden to patients, the healthcare systems, and society. Cellular and molecular mechanisms governing the interplay of these organs and tissues in health and disease are therefore of significant interest. The coexistence of metabolic disorders and chronic hepatitis C infection also enhances the progression to liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. The presence of metabolic disorders is believed to influence the chronicity and virulence of HCV leading to liver disease progression. This comprehensive review highlights current knowledge on the metabolic manifestations of hepatitis C and the potential pathways in which these metabolic changes can influence the natural history of the disease.

Searching for new resonances and finding out their properties is an essential part of any existing or future particle physics experiment. The nature of a new resonance is characterized by its spin, charge conjugation,parity, and its couplings with the existing particles of the Standard Model. If a new resonance is found in the four lepton final state produced via two intermediate Z bosons, the resonance could be a new heavy scalar or a Z boson or even a higher spin particle. In such cases a step by step methodology as enunciated in this paper can be followed to determine the spin, parity and the coupling to two Z bosons of the parent particles, in a fully model-independent way. In our approach we show how three uni-angular distributions and a few experimentally measurable observables can conclusively tell us about the spin, parity as well as the couplings of the new resonance to two Z bosons. We have performed a numerical analysis to validate our approach and showed how the uni-angular observables can be used to disentangle the spin parity as well as the coupling of the resonance.

Drug-induced autoimmune hepatitis(DIAIH)is a specific phenotype of druginduced liver injury that may lead to the devastating outcome of acute liver failure requiring liver *** implicated in DIAIH include antimicrobials such as nitrofurantoin and minocycline,non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,statins as well as anti-tumor necrosis *** clinical features of druginduced liver injury are indistinguishable from idiopathic autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)as both may have positive AIH-related autoantibodies,elevated immunoglobulin G,as well as similar histopathological *** patients who show no clinical improvement,or there is progressive liver injury despite cessation of the suspected drug,a liver biopsy should be considered,whereby the presence of advance fibrosis on histology favors the diagnosis of idiopathic *** treatment with corticosteroids may be required in patients with non-resolving liver injury.A typical clinical scenario supportive of DIAIH includes a history of drug exposure with spontaneous resolution of liver injury after drug withdrawal and the absence of relapse after rapid steroid *** this article we report two cases of DIAIH secondary to Sorafenib and Atorvastatin along with a review of currently available *** identification and treatment often lead to a favorable outcome in DIAIH.

This paper examines the selection and performance evaluation of a variety of piezoelectric materials for cantilever-based sensor *** finite element analysis method is implemented to evaluate the relative importance of materials properties such as Young's Modulus(E),piezoelectric stress constants(e_(31)),dielectric constant(ε)and Poisson's ratio(ν)for cantilever-based sensor *** analytic hierarchy process(AHP)is used to assign weights to the properties that are studied for the sensor structure under study.A technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution(TOPSIS)is used to rank the performance of the piezoelectric materials in the context of sensor voltage *** ranking achieved by the TOPSIS analysis is in good agreement with the results obtained from finite element method *** numerical simulations show that K_(0.5)Na_(0.5)NbO_(3)-LiSbO_(3)(KNN-LS)materials family is important for sensor ***'s modulus(E)is most influencing material's property followed by piezoelectric constant(e_(31)),dielectric constant(ε)and Poisson's ratio(ν)for cantilever-based piezoelectric sensor applications.
