Delftia acidovorans(earlier known as Comamonas acidovorans) is an aerobic,non-fermentative, Cram negative rod,classified in the Pseudomonas rRNA homology Group *** of isolation of the organism from serious infections like central venoug catheter associated bacleremia. corneal ulcers,otitis media *** microbiologists can identify this organism based on an orange indole *** reaction demonstrates the organism's ability to produce anthranilic acid from tryptophan on addition of Kovac's reagent;which gives the media its characteristic "pumpkin orange" *** we report the isolation of this organism from the Endotracheal tube aspirate of a 4 year old *** the increasing use of invasive devices,it has become important to recognize these non fermentative gram negative bacilli as emerging source of infection even in immunocompetent individuals.

Objective:To report our experience with two tests,anti-cardiolipin antibody test[venereal disease reasearch laboratory(VDRL) test]and specific treponemal test(Treponema pallidum hemagglutination assay),used for screening antenatal,high risk cases and cases from sexually transmitted infection in a tertiary care hospital from January 2006 till December ***:A total of 14639 samples received from various patient groups including antenatal cases,patients attending sexually transmitted disease(STD) clinic,blood donors and HIV positive patients were ***:Among the 14639 samples collected,103 were positive by VDRL *** these 89 cases were confirmed by quantitative VDRL test and Treponema pallidum hemagglutination *** cumulative seroprevalence over two years was found to be 0.61%in this *** syphilis seroprevalence reduced from 0.88%in 2006 to 0.40%in *** the various sub-populations studied,patients attending the sexually transmitted infection clinic showed a seroprevalence of 2.62%.The seroprevalence decreased significantly from 4.00%in 2006 to1.39%in ***:Our study showed a statistically significant declining rate of syphilis in STD clinics as well as the overall *** findings could be interpreted as indicators of improved programmes for prevention and management of STDs.

BACKGROUND The prognosis of gastric cancer continues to remain poor,and epigenetic drugs like histone deacetylase inhibitors(HDACi)have been envisaged as potential therapeutic ***,clinical trials are facing issues with toxicity and efficacy against solid tumors,which may be partly due to the lack of patient stratification for effective *** study the need of patient stratification before HDACi treatment,and the efficacy of pre-treatment of HDACi as a chemotherapeutic drug *** The expression activity of class 1 HDACs and histone acetylation was examined in human gastric cancer cells and *** potential combinatorial regime of HDACi and chemotherapy drugs was defined on the basis of observed drug binding assays,chromatin remodeling and cell *** In the present study,the data suggest that the differential increase in HDAC activity and the expression of class 1 HDACs are associated with hypoacetylation of histone proteins in tumors compared to normal adjacent mucosa tissue samples of gastric *** data highlights for the first time that pretreatment of HDACi results in an increased amount of DNA-bound drugs associated with enhanced histone acetylation,chromatin relaxation and cell cycle ***-affected plots and combination index-based analysis show that pre-HDACi chemo drug combinatorial regimes,including valproic acid with cisplatin or oxaliplatin and trichostatin A with epirubicin,exhibit synergism with maximum cytotoxic potential due to higher cell death at low combined doses in gastric cancer cell *** Expression or activity of class 1 HDACs among gastric cancer patients present an effective approach for patient ***,HDACi therapy in pretreatment regimes is more effective with chemotherapy drugs,and may aid in predicting individual patient prognosis.

Layzer’s approximation method for investigation of two fluid interface structures associated with Rayleigh Taylor instability for arbitrary Atwood number is extended with the inclusion of second harmonic mode leaving out the zeroth harmonic one. The modification makes the fluid velocities vanish at infinity and leads to avoidance of the need to make the unphysical assumption of the existence of a time dependent source at infinity. The present analysis shows that for an initial interface perturbation with curvature exceeding , where A is the Atwood number there occurs an almost free fall of the spike with continuously increasing sharpening as it falls. The curvature at the tip of the spike also increases with Atwood number. Certain initial condition may also result in occurrence of finite time singularity as found in case of conformal mapping technique used earlier. However bubble growth rate is not appreciably affected.

Splenic artery aneurysms (SAA) are third most common intra-abdominal aneurysm (after aneurysms of the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries). A splenic artery aneurysm larger than 3 cm is even rare. Splenic artery aneurysms are fatal vascular lesions if ruptured. The incidence of rupture is increased in larger aneurysms. Transcatheter arterial embolization is an alternative method of treatment in a patient with splenic arterial aneurysm which has relative lower morbidity and mortality than surgical procedures. Here, we report a case of giant ruptured proximal splenic artery pseudoaneurysm detected by contrast enhanced computed tomography (CECT) & referred to Interventional Radiology for Transcatheter arterial embolisation.
