Transformer Differential and overcurrent schemes are traditionally used as main and backup protection respectively. The differential protection relay (SEL487E) has dedicated harmonic restraint function which blocks the relay tripping during the transformer magnetizing inrush conditions. However, the backup overcurrent relay (SEL751A) applied to the transformer protection does not have harmonic restraint element and trip the overcurrent relay during the inrush conditions. Therefore, major contribution of this research work is the developed harmonic blocking scheme for transformer which uses element (87HB) of the transformer differential relay (SEL487E) to send an IEC61850 GOOSE-based harmonic blocking signal to the backup overcurrent relay (SEL751A) to inhibit from tripping during the transformer magnetizing inrush current conditions. The simulation results proved that IEC61850 standard-based protection scheme is faster than the hardwired signals. Therefore, the speed and reliability of the transformer scheme are improved using the IEC61850 standard-based GOOSE applications.

Current efficiency in electro-winning of lanthanum and cerium metals from molten chloride electrolytes

The objective of this study is to prepare lan- thanum and cerium metals by fused salt electrolysis of their anhydrous chloride in molten media such as LiCl-KCl, NaCl-KCl, KCl, NaCl, and LiCl and to characterize the metal deposit by X-ray diffraction, energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence, and inductive coupled plasma-atomic emis- sion spectroscopy. Deposit metal of purity more than 99 % was obtained in each of the experiments. The entire process starting from preparation of anhydrous lanthanum/cerium chloride to electrolysis yielding of metal deposits has been described. The effect of process parameters such as tem- perature, electrolyte composition, and current density on the current efficiency was studied. All these parameters were varied to get the highest current efficiency and metal yield. The major non-rare earth impurities with the deposit are found to be Fe, Cr, and Ni along with - 1× 10^-3 of total gaseous impurities.

A general class of non-linear large-scale interconnected systems is considered,wherein each subsystem is comprised of a nominal part in a general strict-feedback-like structure and a set of appended *** and functional uncertainties and time delays are allowed throughout the overall system structure including the nominal strictfeedback-like parts and appended dynamics of each subsystem as well as the non-linear subsystem *** controller design is based on the dual dynamic highgain scaling technique and provides a robust adaptive delay-independent globally stabilising decentralised output-feedback *** disturbance attenuation properties of the proposed output-feedback decentralised controller to an exogenous disturbance input are also analysed and specific conditions under which properties such as Input-toOutput-practical-Stability and asymptotic stabilisation are attained are also discussed.

Controlled release of TDI and hence the cure characteristics of several blocked TDI with HTPB are reported. The reactions were followed through viscosity measurements as a function of time and temperature under the catalytic influence of triethylamine. The effect of nature of substituents present on the end capping substrate, temperature, solvent, basicity of catalyst and kinetics thereon have been studied.

Cure characteristics of hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HTPB) prepolymer with avariety of blocked toluene diisocyanate (TDI) in the presence of triethylamine (TEA) andchloroacetic acid catalyst are reported. Phenol, thiophenol, p-chloropheno1, p-nitrophenol,p-cresol, resorcinol, naphthols, caprolactam and butylated-hydroxytoluene were used as blockingagents. Viscosity measurements have been carried out using a mixture of HTPB and blocked TDIin cyclohexanone in the presence of the catalysts at 50℃ and 60℃ using Haake rotational vis-cometer. Viscosity measurements have also been carried out with 50% solids such as ammonium sulphate along with HTPB and TDI adduct.

Introduction:This paper describes the leafing,flowering and fruiting phenology of canopy trees in the dry deciduous forest of Bhadra wildlife sanctuary from June 2004 to May ***:All the woody canopy individuals(>20 cm girth at breast height)were identified and tagged with a unique number along a transect of approximately 2 Km comprising 157 individuals of 22 *** were made at monthly intervals from June 2004 to May 2006 for leafing,flowering and fruiting ***:Leaf fall starts in September,with a peak in December and *** initiation begins in February,with a peak in April before the *** expansion starts in February from pre-monsoon with a peak in May and July during the *** senescence begins in September to November and peaks in January to *** bud initiates in January with a peak in April and May,and pollination begins in April with a peak in May and July before the monsoon to onset of *** bud initiates in May with a peak in September and *** fruit was observed in May with a peak in September and *** fall begins in November with a peak in ***:Our results show that leafing and flowering activities occur in the summer or *** patterns occur during the monsoon to post-monsoon *** among various phenophases indicates that leaf senescence flower initiation and fruit fall have strong seasonality.

Moirésuperlattices of transition metal dichalcogenide(TMD)heterostructures give rise to rich excitonic phenomena associated with the interlayer twist *** calculations of excitons in such systems are typically based on model moirépotentials that mitigate the computational ***,predictive understanding of the electron-hole coupling dominating the excitations is crucial to realize the twist-induced modifications of the optical selection *** this work,we use many-body perturbation theory to evaluate the relation between twist angle and exciton properties in TMD *** present an approach for unfolding excitonic states from the moiréBrillouin zone onto the separate-layer *** this method to a large-angle twisted MoS^(2)/MoSe^(2) bilayer,we find that the optical spectrum is dominated by mixed electron–hole transitions with different momenta in the separate monolayers,leading to unexpected hybridization between interlayer and intralayer *** findings offer a design pathway for exciton layer-localization in TMD heterostructures.
