AIm:To investigate the effect of preoperative factors on visual acuity,higher-order aberrations(HOAs),and index of success for spherical change(***)after transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy(t-PRK)for treating different grades of ***:This was a retrospective one-armed cohort study where patients with high,moderate,or mild myopia treated with single-step t-PRK using Amaris 500 Hz excimer laser were evaluated for visual acuity,refractive status,corneal topography,HOAs,***,and mean efficiency and safety index before and 6 mo after ***:A total of 154 eyes of 77 patients with mild(n=59),moderate(n=83),and high(n=12)myopia were *** efficiency and safety indices for vision recovery by single-step t-PRK were 98%and 100%,*** achieved spherical equivalent(SE)was within 1 diopter(D)in 151(98%)*** median of the *** was 1.18[interquartile range(IQR)1.0,1.4].The change in *** was significantly correlated with age(P=0.007),6.5 mm ablation zone(mann-Whitney U test,Pmild and moderate grade of myopia(Kruskal–Wallis test,Pal aberration,and aberration coefficient types of HOA increased significantly(Wilcoxon test,Pmo *** was a significant correlation between spherical aberration and aberration coefficient HOAs by myopia grades(Pmising short-term outcomes for refractive corrections and vision improvement to treat all three grades of myopia.

Cross-lingual image description,the task of generating image captions in a target language from images and descriptions in a source language,is addressed in this study through a novel approach that combines neural network models and semantic matching *** conducted on the Flickr8k and AraImg2k benchmark datasets,featuring images and descriptions in English and Arabic,showcase remarkable performance improvements over state-of-the-art *** model,equipped with the Image&Cross-Language Semantic matching module and the Target Language Domain Evaluation module,significantly enhances the semantic relevance of generated image *** English-to-Arabic and Arabic-to-English cross-language image descriptions,our approach achieves a CIDEr score for English and Arabic of 87.9%and 81.7%,respectively,emphasizing the substantial contributions of our *** analyses with previous works further affirm the superior performance of our approach,and visual results underscore that our model generates image captions that are both semantically accurate and stylistically consistent with the target *** summary,this study advances the field of cross-lingual image description,offering an effective solution for generating image captions across languages,with the potential to impact multilingual communication and *** research directions include expanding to more languages and incorporating diverse visual and textual data sources.

The United States is in the throes of a severe opioid overdose epidemic,primarily fueled by the pervasive use of fentanyl and the emerging threat of xylazine,a veterinary sedative often mixed with *** high potency and long duration of fentanyl is compounded by the added risks from xylazine,heightening the lethal danger faced by opioid *** such as enhanced surveillance,public awareness campaigns,and the distribution of fentanylxylazine test kits,and naloxone have been undertaken to mitigate this ***-related overdose deaths persist despite these efforts,partly due to inconsistent policies across states and resistance towards adopting harm reduction strategies.A multifaceted approach is imperative in effectively combating the opioid overdose *** approach should include expansion of treatment access,broadening the availability of medications for opioid use disorder,implementation of harm reduction strategies,and enaction of legislative reforms and diminishing stigma associated with opioid use disorder.

The growing prevalence of fake images on the Internet and social media makes image integrity verification a crucial research *** of the most popular methods for manipulating digital images is image splicing,which involves copying a specific area from one image and pasting it into *** were made to mitigate the effects of image splicing,which continues to be a significant research *** study proposes a new splicing detectionmodel,combining Sonine functions-derived convex-based features and deep *** stages make up the proposed *** first step entails feature extraction,then classification using the“support vector machine”(SVm)to differentiate authentic and spliced *** proposed Sonine functions-based feature extraction model reveals the spliced texture details by extracting some clues about the probability of image *** proposed model achieved an accuracy of 98.93% when tested with the CASIA V2.0 dataset“Chinese Academy of Sciences,Institute of Automation”which is a publicly available dataset for forgery *** experimental results show that,for image splicing forgery detection,the proposed Sonine functions-derived convex-based features and deep features outperform state-of-the-art techniques in terms of accuracy,precision,and ***,the obtained detection accuracy attests to the benefit of using the Sonine functions alongside deep feature *** the regions or locations where image tampering has taken place is limited by the *** research will need to look into advanced image analysis techniques that can offer a higher degree of accuracy in identifying and localizing tampering regions.

The motivation for this study is that the quality of deep fakes is constantly improving,which leads to the need to develop new methods for their *** proposed Customized Convolutional Neural Network method involves extracting structured data from video frames using facial landmark detection,which is then used as input to the *** customized Convolutional Neural Network method is the date augmented-based CNN model to generate‘fake data’or‘fake images’.This study was carried out using Python and its *** used 242 films from the dataset gathered by the Deep Fake Detection Challenge,of which 199 were made up and the remaining 53 were *** seconds were allotted for each *** were 318 videos used in all,199 of which were fake and 119 of which were *** proposedmethod achieved a testing accuracy of 91.47%,loss of 0.342,and AUC score of 0.92,outperforming two alternative approaches,CNN and ***,our method succeeded in greater accuracy than contemporary models such as XceptionNet,meso-4,EfficientNet-BO,mesoInception-4,VGG-16,and *** novelty of this investigation is the development of a new Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)learning model that can accurately detect deep fake face photos.

We investigate the impact of the modified gravity（mOG） field and the quintessence scalar field on horizon evolution, black hole（BH） shadow and the weak gravitational lensing around a static spherically symmetric BH. We first begin to write the BH metric associated with the mOG parameter and quintessence scalar field. We then determine the BH shadow and obtain numerical solutions for the photon sphere and shadow radius. We show that the mOG（α） and the quintessence（c） parameters have a significant impact on the BH shadow and photon *** on the analysis, we further show that the combined effects of the mOG parameter and quintessence field can increase the values of BH shadow and photon sphere radii. We also obtain constraints on the BH parameters by applying the observational data of Sgr A★and m87★.Finally, we consider the weak deflection angle of BH within the context of the Gauss–Bonnet theorem（GBT） and show that the combined effects of the mOG and quintessence parameters do make the value of the deflection angle increase, and find this remarkable property is in good agreement with the physical meaning of both parameters that can maintain the strong gravitational field in the surrounding environment of a BH.

Dodecyl alcohol(DDA) is a promising solid-liquid phase change material(PCm) due to its favorable latent heat storage(LHS) ***,the leakage issue of PCm in a melted state during the heating period and low thermal conductivity restricts its utilization potential in thermal energy storage(TES) *** the same context,the present work aims to overcome the leakage issue and improve the thermal conductivity of the *** this in mind,a novel leak-proof layered double hydroxide(LDH)/DDA composite PCm is proposed through a solution-based impregnation *** leak-proof impregnation ratio of the DDA impregnated within the cavities of the synthesized al/Fe-LDH was determined to be 60%.Detailed morphological,physicochemical,and thermal properties of the fabricated composite were studied by scanning electron microscopy(SEm),Fourier transforms infrared(FTIR) spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD)spectroscopy,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),thermalgravimetric analysis(TGA),and thermal cycling *** results show that the LDH/DDA composite has a suitable phase change temperature(about 20℃) for passive solar thermal management of building *** composite PCm showed high LHS enthalpy(about136 J/g),good thermal stability,and cycling LHS *** also showed nearly 152% higher thermal conductivity compared to that of pure DDA,ultimately reducing the melting and solidification time of the pure DDA by 44.9% and 45.5%,respectively.

Infrared thermography,velocity and impingement pressure measurements alongside numerical modelling are used in this study to resolve(heated)surface temperature distributions of turbulent swirling impinging jets for two Reynolds numbers(Re=11600 and 24600).Whilst building upon earlier discoveries for this same geometry,this paper provides three new contributions:(1)identifying the role of impingement distance(H/D)as a deciding factor in the trade-off between more efficient heat transfer(at high swirl numbers)and achieving better substrate temperature uniformity(lower gradients),(2)developing correlations to predict Nusselt number for swirling and non-swirling cooling jets,and(3)predicting the underlying mixing field in these jets and its interplay with the thermal distributions *** indicate substrate temperature uniformity varies based on H/D and swirl intensity(S)with a significant level of thermal non-uniformity occurring in near-field impingement(H/D=1)at stronger swirl(S=0.59 and 0.74).Four correlations describing the effects of S,Re,and H on the average heat transfer and stagnation heat transfer are developed and yield accuracies of 8%and 12%,*** recirculation near the impingement surface is predicted at H/D=1 for stronger swirl jets which disappears at other substrate *** peak wall shear stress reduces and the flow impingement becomes radially wider at higher H/D and *** turbulence or eddy viscosity regions for non-swirling jets(S=0)are predicted in the shear layer and entrainment regions at H/D=1,but such turbulence is confined to the impingement and wall jet regions for strongly swirling flows.
