Portal vein thrombosis is a common complica- tion in cirrhotic patients. When portal vein thrombectomy is not a suitable option, a large collateral vessel can be used for allograft venous inflow reconstruction. We describe an unusu- al case of successful portal revascularization using the right gastroepiploic vein. The patient underwent a cadaveric or- thotropic liver transplantation with end-to-end anastomosis of the portal vein to the right gastroepiploic vein. six months after liver transplantation the patient is well with good liver function. The use of the right gastroepiploic vein for allograft venous reconstruction is feasible and safe, with a great advan- tage of avoiding the need of venous jump graft.

Every dam or barrage construction affects the watercourse and the retention of sediment that previously was carried by the river, which can lead to siltation of the reservoir and obstruction of water intakes over time, reducing their capacities. However, the information available regarding the effect of sediment and drawdown parameters, sediment management at reservoirs, as well as different equational approaches,is scarce. The current research aims to evaluate the effect of parameters associated with numerical modeling of sediment management in reservoirs considering scenarios with different drawdowns,transport equations, sediment size distributions, and thickness of the initial sediment layer. The case study of the Aimore s Hydropower Plant(HPP) is used, applying the delft3D-FLOW model for twodimensional modeling. All parameters influenced the volume of mobilized sediment, among which the initial layer thickness was the parameter that resulted in the greatest changes in simulated results. In general, the results show that the uncertainties in the input parameters outweigh the uncertainties between the techniques, which found large variations in results when evaluating the use of different transport equations. These results indicate the importance of proper estimation of model parameters for predicting effects with accuracy and the need for such studies before planning and management operations are evaluated to avoid environmental harm and energy waste.

This work describes the synthesis of catalysts based on red mud/polyethylene terephthalate（PET） composites and their subsequent heat treatment under N2 *** materials were characterized by scanning electron microscopy（sEM）,temperature programmed reduction（TPR）,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FT–IR）,X-ray diffraction（XRD）,thermogravimetric（TG） analysis and N2adsorption/*** catalysts were evaluated in the oxidative desulfurization reaction of dibenzothiophene（DBT） in a biphasic *** results indicated that the PET impregnation on red mud increased the affinity of the catalyst with the nonpolar phase（fuel）,in which the contaminant was dissolved,allowing a higher conversion（up to 80%） and selectivity to the corresponding dibenzothiophene *** sulfone compound is more polar than DBT and diffused into the polar solvent as indicated by the data obtained via gas chromatography–mass spectrometry（GC–Ms）.

Changes in land cover have a direct impact on forest ecosystem goods and services. In this study, changes in land cover in sierra de juarez–Oaxaca ecosystems were estimated using a consistent processing of Landsat images and OBIA methodology. Additionally, landscape analyses using FRAGsTAT were conducted. In 2014, sierra de juarez–Oaxaca was covered by approximately 84% of forests, mainly pine-oak and cloud forests. After extensive deforestation until 2001, this trend was reversed and the forest cover surface area in 2014 was slightly higher than in 1979. The comparison of the landscape structure of the forested and agricultural lands suggests an increase in habitat heterogeneity. However, interspersion and juxtaposition indices, showing the patch shape by patch area and perimeter, were similar throughout the study period(1979–2014). social and economic drivers can explain this situation: namely, community organization, forest enterprises, payment for ecosystem services programs, and changes of agricultural activity. Communities in the sierra of Oaxaca have reforested degraded lands, created community forest enterprises, and preserved the forest under conservation schemes like those proposed by the Mexican payment for ecosystem services programs. However, their sustainable management faces internal challenges and has become highly dependent on political and institutional decisions beyond their control.

The energy functional associated with different models is analyzed and stability inequalities are established. The pandemic of the new coronavirus(COVID-19)may be affecting the physical activity(PA)level in much of the *** study aimed to investigate the prevalence of physical inactivity and sedentary behavior(sB)among adults with chronic diseases and their associations with sociodemographic factors during the COVID-19 *** cross-sectional study included 249 participants(age:18-91 years;61.4%female)with chronic conditions and attended the Family Health strategy program in a small town in *** were collected between 2020-07-13 and 2020-07-24 by face-to-face ***-reported PA,sitting time,chronic diseases,medication use,sociodemographic data,and self-isolation adherence were obtained by *** this specific time point of the COVID-19 pandemic,71.5%of participants did not meet the PA recommendations(≥500 METs-min/week),and the prevalence of sB risk(≥4 h sitting)was 62.7%.Adj.sted logistic regression indicated that male participants(odds ratio[OR]:1.89[95%CI 1.02-3.53]),living alone(OR:2.92[95%CI 1.03-8.30])or in a two-person household(OR:2.32[95%CI 1.16-4.63]),and those who reported sometimes performing self-isolation(OR:3.07[95%CI 1.47-6.40])were more likely to meet the minimum PA *** smokers had a lower odds(OR:0.36[95%CI 0.14-0.95])of meeting the PA *** participants(OR:2.18[95%CI 1.06-4.50])and those who had multimorbidity(OR:1.92[95%CI 1.07-3.44])were more likely to have a higher degree of *** is an urgent need to mitigate physical inactivity and sB,and public health interventions must take into account sociodemographic status.
