AIM:To assess diabetic macul.r edema(DME)progression during the earl. phases of the COVID-19 pandemic,when severe societal.restrictions raised the concern of possibl. deterioration of heal.h in patients with systemic conditions,particul.rl. those requiring frequent office ***:This is a mul.icenter retrospective chart review of 370 patients(724 eyes)with an establ.shed diagnosis of DME seen on 3 separate visits between January 2019 and Jul. *** 1 was January 2019 to February 2020(considered pre-COVID-19),period 2 was March 2020 to December 2020(considered the height of the pandemic;highest l.vel.of pandemic-rel.ted cl.nical.and societal.regul.tions)and period 3 was January 2021 to Jul. 2021(re-adjustment to the new“pandemic norms”).Main outcome measures incl.ded visual.acuity,body mass index(BMI),bl.od pressure(BP),hemogl.bin A1c(HbA1c),macul.r thickness,patient adherence to schedul.d ophthal.ol.gy visits,and DME treatment(s)received at each *** facil.tate measurement of macul.r thickness,each macul. was divided into 9 Earl. Temporal.activity patterns in animal. emerge from compl.x interactions between choices made by organisms as responses to biotic interactions and chal.enges posed by external.factors. Temporal.activity pattern is an inherentl. continuous process, even being recorded as a time series. The discreteness of the data set is cl.arl. due to data-acquisition l.mitations rather than a true underl.ing discrete nature of the phenomenon itsel.. Therefore, curves are a natural.representation for high-frequency data. Here, we ful.y model.temporal.activity data as curves integrating wavel.ts and functional.data anal.sis, al.owing for testing hypotheses based on curves rather than on scal.r and vector-val.ed data. Temporal.activity data were obtained experimental.y for mal.s and femal.s of a smal.-bodied marsupial.and model.ed as wavel.ts with independent and identical.y distributed errors and dependent errors. The nul. hypothesis of no difference in temporal.activity pattern between mal. and femal. curves was tested with functional.anal.sis of variance (FANOVA). The nul. hypothesis was rejected by FANOVA and we discussed the differences in temporal.activity pattern curves between mal.s and femal.s in terms of ecol.gical.and l.fe-history attributes of the reference species. We al.o performed numerical.anal.sis that shed l.ght on the regul.rity properties of the wavel.t bases used and the threshol.ing parameters.

We determined whether the incl.sion of 100 g/kg dry matter of grape pomace sil.ge (GPS) and grape pomace bran (GPB) as substitutes for other traditional.fiber sources in the diet of steers (Charol.is x Nel.ore) woul. improve carcass characteristics, meat qual.ty and composition, and shel. l.fe. Twenty-four animal. (248 ± 19.32 kg of initial.body weight) were fed a high concentrate diet for 121 days. Carcass characteristics were measured, and the l.ngissimus dorsi muscl. was anal.zed for fatty acid (FA) profil. and composition. The meat was sl.ced and stored in air-permeabl. packages for 10 days. On each sampl.ng day (d 1, 3, 7, and 10), oxidative stabil.ty, bacterial.l.ad, l.pid and protein oxidation, and staining were anal.zed. The experimental.diets infl.enced the pH of col. carcasses onl.. The GPS group had a higher pH than the control. The GPS and GPB groups showed improved oxidant status (i.e., l.wer l.pid peroxidation and concentrations of reactive oxygen species were in the meat of both groups than in control.. On the first day of storage, the antioxidant enzyme gl.tathione S-transferase activity was more significant in the meat of the GPS and GPB groups than in the control. The bacterial.l.ads in the meat were attenuated by GPS incl.sion;there were l.wer total.col.form counts and a trend toward l.wer counts for enterobacteria in the control.group. The diets al.ered the FA profil. of the meat;i.e., the GPB diet al.owed for a more significant amount of the n-6 omegas in the meat, whil. the GPS diet showed a tendency for a more significant amount of n-6 and 9 omegas. Both diets (GPS and GPB) increased the amounts of l.ng-chain FAs. The GPS diet decreased saturated FA l.vel.. We concl.de that the dietary treatments GPS and GPB are a promising al.ernative to maintain meat qual.ty standards throughout in real.worl. retail.conditions. 盘状星系中的棒结构特征与星系自身所处环境及整体恒星形成特征之间存在复杂的相互关系。利用细致的星系形态特征测量计划Gal.xy Zoo DECal.中的数据构建了一组目前最大的具有同样恒星质量分布的强棒、弱棒和无棒星系样本。通过引入星系所处暗晕质量及相空间特征来控制星系所处的环境效应之后,进一步对比研究强棒、弱棒和无棒星系的恒星形成特征。研究表明,有棒星系中的恒星形成熄灭的比例系统地高于无棒星系,且强棒的效应更为明显。但是,对于仍处于恒星形成主序上的星系来说,强棒、弱棒和无棒星系的恒星形成特征并没有显著差别。以上结果表明,星系中的棒特征在其存在的时标中可能使部分星系迅速地从恒星形成转入熄灭状态。
