Three-dimensional mapping and comparative analysis of the distal human corpus cavernosum and the inflatable penile prosthesis

The intricate anatomy of the corpus cavernosum in both the flaccid and tumescent state has not been fully elucidated. We report our experience using a three-dimensional （3D） scanner to reconstruct cadaveric casts and compare them with 3D images of two prototypes of penile prosthesis. Two different models of the Titan Coloplast inflatable penile prosthesis were analyzed using a 3D scanner. The first was the standard model and the second was a newer model with a rounder silicone tip. Two cadaveric phalluses were harvested using Smooth-Cast 300Q polyurethane molding. The molds were excised and scanned along side the penile prosthesis. 3D scans were completed and analyzed using Leios Mesh software, and GOM Inspect software. The 3D scans demonstrated the mean human corporal radii 2 mm from the distal tip to be 36.51 mm （36.01-37.0 mm）, which is an obtuse angle. The standard Titan penile prosthesis spherical radius at the same level was 202.52 mm, while the new silicone tip prosthesis had a radius of 139.33 mm. 3D mapping further demonstrated the trajectory of the cavernosa appeared curvilinear and the distal ends appeared blunt. The use of cadaveric cavernosal molds in combination with the 3D scanner allowed us to accurately image the corpus cavernosum for the first time. Our findings suggest that anatomically accurate corporal tips appear to be relatively blunt and that the new Titan silicone tip penile prosthesis more closely resembles the human corporal tip.

Augmented reality assisted surgery： a urologic training tool

Augmented reality is widely used in aeronautics and is a developing concept within surgery. In this pilot study, we developed an application for use on Google Glass optical head-mounted display to train urology residents in how to place an inflatable penile prosthesis. We use the phrase Augmented Reality Assisted Surgery to describe this novel application of augmented reality in the setting of surgery. The application demonstrates the steps of the surgical procedure of inflatable penile prosthesis placement. It also contains software that allows for detection of interest points using a camera feed from the optical head-mounted display to enable faculty to interact with residents during placement of the penile prosthesis. Urology trainees and faculty who volunteered to take part in the study were given time to experience the technology in the operative or perioperative setting and asked to complete a feedback survey. From 30 total participants using a lO-point scale, educational usefulness was rated 8.6, ease of navigation was rated 7.6, likelihood to use was rated 7.4, and distraction in operating room was rated 4.9. When stratified between trainees and faculty, trainees found the technology more educationally useful, and less distracting. Overall, 81% of the participants want this technology in their residency program, and 93% see this technology in the operating room in the future. Further development of this technology is warranted before full release, and further studies are necessary to better characterize the effectiveness of Augmented Reality Assisted Surgery in urologic surgical training.

Aim： To present a simple technique during penile prosthesis implantation that promotes the perception of increased phallic length. Methods： The penoscrotal web is defined. A ＂check mark＂ incision is made with excision of scrotal tissue. excellent exposure is provided for implantation of the cylinders, pump and reservoir. Wound closure is performed longitudinally. Results： This technique is a modified extension of surgeries described in the pediatric literature for webbed penis. Loss of penile length following penile implantation surgery is worrisome for patients suffering from erectile dysfunction （eD）. This technique helps with patient satisfaction, cosmetic results, and improves perception of penile length. Conclusion： Ventral phalloplasty is a safe, technically simple procedure that may be performed in concert with penile prosthesis implantation or as a stand alone procedure under＇certain circumstances.

Patient satisfaction and penile morphology changes with postoperative penile rehabilitation 2 years after Coloplast Titan prosthesis

A common complaint after inflatable penile prosthesis surgery is reduced penile length. We previously reported how using the Coloplast Titan inflatable penile prosthesis with aggressive new length measurement technique （NLMT） coupled with postoperative IPP rehabilitation of the implant for 1-year helped to improve patient satisfact on and erectile peni e measurements Th s is a 2 years follow-up of a prospective, three-center, study of 40 patients who underwent Titan prosthesis placement, With new length measurement technique for erectile dysfunction. Patient instructions were to inflate daily for 6 months and then inflate maximally for 1-2 h daily for 6-24 months. Fifteen penile measurements were taken before and immediately after surgery and at follow-up visits. Measurement changes were improved at 24 months as compared to immediately postoperative and at 12 months. 67.8% of subjects were satisfied with their length at 2 years, and 77% had perceived penile length that was longer （30.8%） or the same （46.2%） as prior to the surgery. 64.3% and 17.9% of subjects had increased and unchanged satisfaction, respectively, with penile length as compared to prior to penile implant surgery. All but one subject （96.5%） was satisfied with the overall function of his implant. This study suggests using the Coloplast Titan with aggressive cylinder sizing, and a postoperative penile rehabilitation inflation protocol can optimize patient satisfaction and erectile penile measurements at 2 years postimplant.

Real-time hybrid simulation for structural control performance assessment

Real-time hybrid simulation is an attractive method to evaluate the response of structures under earthquake loads. The method is a variation of the pseudodynamic testing technique in which the experiment is executed in real time, thus allowing investigation of structural systems with rate-dependent components. Real-time hybrid simulation is challenging because it requires performance of all calculations, application of displacements, and acquisition of measured forces, within a very small increment of time. Furthermore, unless appropriate compensation for actuator dynamics is implemented, stability problems are likely to occur during the experiment. This paper presents an approach for real-time hybrid simulation in which compensation for actuator dynamics is implemented using a model-based feedforward compensator. The method is used to evaluate the response of a semi-active control of a structure employing an MR damper. experimental results show good agreement with the predicted responses, demonstrating the effectiveness of the method for structural control performance assessment.

Positive- and Zero-Sequence Impedance estimation of YNyn0+d-Connected Main Power Transformers in Wind Power Applications

With the increased penetration of non-conventionalrenewable energy resources, such as wind power plants (WPPs),into the power system, a lot of interest has been placed on studyingtheir impact for system protection, planning and operationsto ensure continued reliability of the electric grid. The impactof WPPs on the grid is typically identified during generationinterconnection studies. One of the challenges faced by protectionand planning engineers, at an early stage in this process, isthat many of the studies involving these power plants must beperformed without specific data available because the equipmentis not built yet. Among all the needed data, a particular interest inthis study is placed on the positive- and zero-sequence impedancesof the main power transformer (MPT) that interconnects a windpower plant to the transmission system due to its contribution toshort-circuit current during ground faults. The most commonlyfound in practice MPT winding configurations is a high-voltagewinding in wye with neutral bushing;a low-voltage windingin wye with neutral bushing without phase shift between thesewindings, and a stabilizing tertiary winding connected in deltathat is not designed for external loading designated as YNyn0+***, this paper proposes a methodology to estimate the sequenceimpedances of YNyn0+d transformers from a statistical point ofview applying clustering and regression analyses on existing MPTtest report data.

Degradation of indomethacin in river water under stress and non-stress laboratory conditions:degradation products,long-term evolution and adsorption to sediment

The pharmaceutical compound indomethacin is not totally removed in wastewater treatment plants,whose effluents flow into aquatic environments;concentrations in the 0.1-100 ng/L range are commonly found in surface waters,and its fate is ***,biological,photochemical and thermal degradation assays were conducted under stress and non-stress conditions to estimate its degradation rate in river water and establish its degradation products over *** results revealed that direct sunlight irradiation promoted the complete degradation of indomethacin（2 μg/L） in less than 6 hr,but indomethacin was detected over a period of 4 months when water was kept under the natural day-night cycle and the exposure to sunlight was partially limited,as occurs inside a body of *** biological degradation in water was negligible,while the hydrolysis at pH 7.8 was *** were monitored by ultra-pressure liquid chromatography/quadrupole time-of-flight/mass spectrometry after solid-phase extraction,and six degradation products were found;their structures were proposed based on the molecular formulae and fragmentation observed in high-resolution tandem mass spectra.4-Chlorobenzoic and 2-acetamido-5-methoxybenzoic acids were the long-term transformation products,persisting for at least 30 weeks in water kept under non-stress ***,the degradation in the presence of sediment was also monitored over time,with some differences being *** adsorption coefficients of indomethacin and degradation products on river sediment were calculated;long-term degradation products did not have significant adsorption to sediment.

Whole-genome duplications(WGDs)are regarded as important drivers of macroevolution in plants(Clark and Donoghue,2018).However,there are few studies that test a connection between WGDs and evolutionary *** proper study of evolutionary patterns related to WGDs needs a well-resolved phylogeny,accurate dates of the WGD events,and historical reconstructions of the evolutionary novelties(Clark and Donoghue,2018).The advent of exhaustive phylogenomic studies is becoming a promising way to solve these issues,as wholegenome data can help clarify obscure phylogenetic relationships,evaluate patterns associated with WGDs,and track down the evolution of life-history traits that shaped plant lineages(Bellot et al.,2020).

On the Semiprimitivity and Semiprimality Problems for Partial Smash Products

In this paper we discuss about the semiprimitivity and the semiprimality of partial smash products. Let H be a semisimple Hopf algebra over a field k and let A be a left partial H-module algebra. We study the H-prime and the H-Jacobson radicals of A and their relations with the prime and the Jacobson radicals of A#H, respectively. In particular, we prove that if A is H-semiprimitive, then A^fH is semiprimitive provided that all irreducible representations of A are finite-dimensional, or A is an affine PI-algebra over k and k is a perfect field, or A is locally finite. Moreover, we prove that A=#=H is semiprime provided that A is an H-semiprime PI-algebra, generalizing to the setting of partial actions the known results for global actions of Hopf algebras.

Immersed Boundary Approach to Biofilm Spread on Surfaces
