Correlation of work function and stacking fault energy through Kelvin probe force microscopy and nanohardness in diluteα-magnesium

electronic interactions of the Group 2A elements with magnesium have been studied through the dilute solid solutions in binary Mg-Ca,Mg-Sr and Mg-Ba *** investigation incorporated the difference in the‘Work Function'(ΔWF)measured via Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy(KPFM),as a property directly affected by interatomic bond types,*** electronic structure,nanoindentation measurements,and Stacking Fault energy values reported in the *** was shown that the nano-hardness of the solid-solutionα-Mg phase changed in the order of Mg-Ca>Mg-Sr>***,it was shown,by also considering the nano-hardness levels,that SFe of a solid-solution is closely correlated with its‘Work Function'***-hardness measurements on the eutectics andΔWF difference between eutectic phases enabled an assessment of the relative bond strength and the pertinent electronic structures of the eutectics in the three *** withΔWF and at least qualitative verification of those computed SFe values with some experimental measurement techniques were considered important as those computational methods are based on zero Kelvin degree,relatively simple atomic models and a number of *** asserted by this investigation,if the results of measurement techniques can be qualitatively correlated with those of the computational methods,it can be possible to evaluate the electronic structures in alloys,starting from binary systems,going to ternary and then multi-elemental *** investigation has shown that such a qualitative correlation is *** all,the SFe values are not treated as absolute values but rather become essential in comparative investigations when assessing the influences of alloying elements at a fundamental level,that is,free electron density *** study indicated that the principles of‘electronic metallurgy'in developing multi-elemental alloy systems can be followed via practical experimental methods,i.e.ΔWF measurements using KPF

Facial wound segmentation plays a crucial role in preoperative planning and optimizing patient outcomes in various medical *** this paper,we propose an efficient approach for automating 3D facial wound segmentation using a two-stream graph convolutional *** method leverages the Cir3D-FaIR dataset and addresses the challenge of data imbalance through extensive experimentation with different loss *** achieve accurate segmentation,we conducted thorough experiments and selected a high-performing model from the *** selectedmodel demonstrates exceptional segmentation performance for complex 3D facial ***,based on the segmentation model,we propose an improved approach for extracting 3D facial wound fillers and compare it to the results of the previous *** method achieved a remarkable accuracy of 0.9999993% on the test suite,surpassing the performance of the previous *** this result,we use 3D printing technology to illustrate the shape of the wound *** outcomes of this study have significant implications for physicians involved in preoperative planning and intervention *** automating facial wound segmentation and improving the accuracy ofwound-filling extraction,our approach can assist in carefully assessing and optimizing interventions,leading to enhanced patient ***,it contributes to advancing facial reconstruction techniques by utilizing machine learning and 3D bioprinting for printing skin tissue *** source code is available at https://***/SIMOGroup/WoundFilling3D.

CpG Island definition and Methylation Mapping of the t2t-YAO Genome

Precisely defining and mapping all cytosine(C)positions and their clusters,known as CpG islands(CGIs),as well as their methylation status,are pivotal for genome-wide epigenetic studies,especially when population-centric reference genomes are ready for timely ***,we first align the two high-quality reference genomes,t2t-YAO and t2t-CHM13,from different ethnic backgrounds in a base-by-base fashion and compute their genome-wide density-defined and position-defined ***,by mapping some representative genome-wide methylation data from selected organs onto the two genomes,we find that there are about 4.7%–5.8%sequence divergency of variable categories depending on quality *** among the divergent sequences are mostly associated with neurological ***,CGIs associated with the divergent sequences are significantly different with respect to CpG density and observed CpG/expected CpG(O/e)ratio between the two ***,we find that the t2t-YAO genome not only has a greater CpG coverage than that of the t2t-CHM13 genome when whole-genome bisulfite sequencing(WGBS)data from the european and American populations are mapped to each reference,but also shows more hyper-methylated CpG sites as compared to the t2t-CHM13 *** study suggests that future genome-wide epigenetic studies of the Chinese populations rely on both acquisition of high-quality methylation data and subsequent precision CGI mapping based on the Chinese t2t reference.

Mechanical properties of semi-solid casting are dependent on multiple processing parameters,and improper processing parameters will not only reduce mean data but also increase *** present study investigated the impact of parameters in slurry preparation and heat treatment on the yield strength and ductility of t6 heat-treated A356 Al-Si alloy using rapid slurry forming(RSF)semi-solid *** focus was primarily on the robustness of mechanical properties based on taguchi design *** analyzing signal-to-noise ratio and minimum value calculated from-3S,the optimum slurry preparation parameters and heat treatment parameters were determined to be no quench,enthalpy exchange material(eeM)temperature of 140℃,eeM-to-melt ratio of 6mass%,stirring time of 18 s,solution heat treated at 520℃ for 2 h,and ageing heat treated at 190℃ for 6 *** a small batch validation,the-3S yield strength and-3S elongation reach 256.1 MPa and 5.03% respectively,showing a satisfactory *** hardness and microstructure of heat-treated samples with the best and worst properties were characterized to gain insight into the underlying mechanisms affecting the mean value and variations of mechanical properties.

Contrasting physical mechanisms of yellowfin tuna fluctuations between the western and eastern Indian Ocean

As an economically critical pelagic migratory species,yellowfin tuna(thunnus albacores,YFt)is very sensible to physical and environmental conditions,such as sea surface temperature(SSt),ocean heat content(OHC),and the mixed layer depth(MLD).We investigated the impact of SSt,OHC,and MLD on fluctuations of YFt catch in the western/eastern Indian Ocean using the long time series of 63-year environmental and YFt *** found that the impact of SSt on YFt was heavily overestimated in the past,and MLD plays a more critical role in the YFt catch *** the MLD deepens(>34.8 m),SSt was more influential in predicting the catches of YFt than OHC in the western Indian Ocean,and OHC was more critical to YFt than SSt in the eastern Indian ***,when the MLD shallows(re vital to predict the catch per unit effort(CPUe)of YFt than SSt/OHC in the *** 2000,there was an asynchronous pattern of YFt CPUe induced by higher frequency variations and ocean hiatus of SSt/OHC signals in the western and eastern Indian Oceans *** impact of the subsurface hiatus may induce the decrease of YFt in the eastern Indian *** above findings clarified a non-stationary relationship between the environmental factors and catches of YFt and provided new insights into variations in YFt abundance.

Impacts of central-Pacific el Niño and physical drivers on eastern Pacific bigeye tuna

Bigeye tuna thunnus obesus is an important migratory species that forages deeply,and el Niño events highly influence its distribution in the eastern Pacific *** sea surface temperature is widely recognized as the main factor affecting bigeye tuna(Bet)distribution during el Niño events,the roles of different types of el Niño and subsurface oceanic signals,such as ocean heat content and mixed layer depth,remain *** conducted A spatial-temporal analysis to investigate the relationship among Bet distribution,el Niño events,and the underlying oceanic signals to address this knowledge *** used monthly purse seine fisheries data of Bet in the eastern tropical Pacific Ocean(etPO)from 1994 to 2012 and extracted the central-Pacific el Niño(CPeN)indices based on Niño 3 and Niño ***,we employed explainable Artificial Intelligence(XAI)models to identify the main patterns and feature importance of the six environmental variables and used information flow analysis to determine the causality between the selected factors and Bet ***,we analyzed Argo datasets to calculate the vertical,horizontal,and zonal mean temperature differences during CPeN and normal years to clarify the oceanic thermodynamic structure differences between the two types of *** findings reveal that Bet distribution during the CPeN years is mainly driven by advection feedback of subsurface warmer thermal signals and vertically warmer habitats in the CPeN domain area,especially in high-yield fishing *** high frequency of CPeN events will likely lead to the westward shift of fisheries centers.

refractive outcomes after V4c toric collamer lens implantation over 1y of follow-up

AIM:to evaluate refractive outcomes and corneal astigmatism changes after toric implantable collamer lens with a central port(V4c t-ICL)implantation over 1y of ***:A retrospective study was performed including 50 eyes of 50 patients that underwent V4c t-ICL ***(UDVA)and corrected(CDVA)distance visual acuities,refraction,refractive and corneal astigmatism changes and corneal coupling correction were evaluated preoperatively,1 and 12mo *** analysis was used for astigmatism *** of adjustment(CAdj)was calculated for corneal coupling ***:the mean UDVA achieved was 0.03 logMAR at 1mo and remained unchanged throughout the whole follow-up(P=0.193).At the last visit,84%of the eyes achieved a CDVA of 0.00 logMAR or *** spherical equivalent refraction(SeQ),96%of eyes were ranges of±1.00 D and 84%of them within±0.50 ***,94%of eyes had a remaining refractive cylinder within±1.00 D and 78%of them within±0.50 ***,SeQ and refractive cylinder,remain stable over the postoperative follow-up(P=1.000 and P=0.660,respectively).In terms of surgically induced astigmatism(SIA),no statistically significant differences were found over the follow-up(P=0.102)and under correction was found with a correction index lower than the unit at each visit.A keratometric astigmatism induced of 0.59±0.53(vector mean:0.26×73º)D was reached at the last *** significant changes in terms of corneal astigmatism orientation were reported over post-surgery visits(P=0.129 and P=0.097 at 1 and 12mo respectively).No clinical significance was found for CAdj on with-the-rule *** postoperative complications resulting from the surgery were ***:refractive outcomes suggest that the V4c t-ICL implantation for correction of myopic astigmatism was satisfactory in terms of effectiveness,safety,and stability during 1y of *** astigmatism induced by the incision around 0.5 D is achieved

the precise movement speed regulation is a key factor to improve the control effect and efficiency of the cyborg ***,the current stimulation techniques cannot realize the graded control of the *** this study,we achieved the multi-level speed regulation of cyborg rats in the large open field and treadmill by specifically targeting the Cuneiform Nucleus(CnF)of the Mesencephalic Locomotor region(MLR).detailed,we measured the influence of each stimulation parameter on the speed control process which included the real-time speed,accelerated speed,response time,and acceleration *** concluded that the pulse period and the pulse width were the main determinants influencing the accelerated speed of cyborg *** the amplitude of stimulation was found to affect the response time exhibited by the cyborg *** study provides valuable insights into the regulation of rat locomotion speed and highlights the potential for utilizing this approach in various experimental settings.
