Technological advances in radiotherapy have led to the introduction of techniques such as stereotactic body radiation therapy(SBRT), allowing the administration of ablative doses. The hypothesis that oligometastatic disease may be cured through local eradication therapies has led to the increasing use of SBRT in patients with this type of disease. At the same time, scientific advances are being made to allow the confirmation of clinically suspected oligometastatic status at molecular level. There is growing interest in identifying patients with oligometastatic prostate cancer(PCa) who may benefit from curative intent metastasis-directed therapy, including SBRT. The aim is to complement, replace or delay the introduction of hormone therapy or other systemic therapies. The present review aims to compile the evidence from the main ongoing studies and results on SBRT in relation to oligometastatic PCa; examine aspects where gaps in knowledge or a lack of consensus persist(e.g., optimum schemes, response assessment, identification and diagnosis of oligometastatic patients); and document the lack of first-level evidence supporting the use of such techniques.

Duodenal diverticula are a relatively common condition. They are asymptomatic, unless they become complicated, with perforation being the rarest but most severe complication. Surgical treatment is the most frequently performed approach. We report the case of a patient with a perforated duodenal diverticulum, which was diagnosed early and treated conservatively with antibiotics and percutaneous drainage of secondary retroperitoneal abscesses. We suggest this method could be an acceptable option for the management of similar cases, provided that the patient is in good general condition and without septic signs.

Emil Theodor Kocher and Theodor Billroth pioneered the surgical management of thyroid disease. Their surgical techniques, knowledge of thyroid anatomy, embryology, histology, physiology, and antisepsis practices transitioned a life-threatening operation to one with acceptable morbidity. The modern head and neck surgeon should have a meticulous surgical technique, combined with a thorough understanding of thyroid embryology and anatomy that is central to the understanding and treatment of the different disease processes of the thyroid gland and the consequences of thyroid gland surgery. In this manuscript we will be examining thyroid gland embryology, anatomy, histology, and physiology that is essential to the practicing thyroid surgeon.

＜正＞ The effect of halothane’ anaesthesia in the memory and in the rat brain 5 - HT1A and galanin （GAL） receptors were determined. Rats （n = 12. adult male Sprague- Dawley） were anaesthetized with halothane （HAL）（3-5 mmHg in 50% O2- 50 % O2N,30 min）. The memory capacity （8 - arm labyrinth） and brain 5 -HT1A and GAL receptors （ autoradiography techniques with 3H - 8OH - DPAT and 125I - human - porcine galanin） were determined 24 h after. HAL increased the time spent in: the first choice （ + 50 % ）,in the first 1 and 8 accuracy choices （ + 53%,+ 67% ）, and the error choices total number （ + 136% ）. HAL diminished the time spent eating （ - 26% ）. and the accuracy choices total number （ - 44 %） and the first 8 choices accuracy choices number （ -42%）（p＜0. 05）. HAL increased the affinity of GAL receptors in hippocampus and amygdala （Ki increment 82 % and 151 % ）（p ＜ 0.01）. HAL increased the 5 - HT1A receptors affinity of fronto - parietal cortex, hippocampus CA1 and amygdala （Kd reduction - 66% , - 88% and - 63% ） while reduced receptors affinity of dorsal raphe （Kd increment +224%）（p＜0.0l）. Amnesia induced by halothane in rats are linked to an increased neurotransmission of the galanin and the 5 - HT1A receptors in limbic areas.

Dear Editor,The Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats(CRISPR)and CRISPR-associated protein 9(Cas9)(CRISPR/Cas9)-mediated generation of somatically genetically engineered mouse models have emerged as a new approach for in vivo modeling of cancer[1].Here,we describe a novel DNA-free,easy,rapid,flexible,multiplexable,and robust method to model endometrial neoplasia by CRISPR/Cas9 ribonucleoprotein(RNP)electroporation into the uterus of mice.

Introduction: Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is the second most common histologic type of breast cancer, representing 5% to 15% of invasive tumors. ILC tends to spread to bones, lungs, central nervous system, reproductive organs, and the gastrointestinal tract (GI tract). The most commonly affected organs in the GI tract are the stomach, small intestine, followed by colon and rectum. Case presentation: A 78-year-old woman who was referred to our institution after having a bowel obstruction that required a diagnostic laparoscopy where they identified an obstructing ulcerative lesion in the distal ileum that was managed with a segmental bowel resection. Pathology report showed an invasive lobular breast carcinoma that occluded 90% of the bowel lumen. A PET/CT scan revealed a left breast tumor with increased metabolism. The patient was staged as a clinical cT4b, cN0, cm1 left breast invasive lobular carcinoma (ER/PgR positive, HER-2 negative). She was managed with endocrine therapy with Letrozole (an eight-week course). A follow-up PET/CT showed a peritoneal hypermetabolic nodule adjacent to the previous ileal anastomosis. The lesion decreased in size and metabolic activity. In a multidisciplinary fashion, the endocrine therapy was extended for another three months. Another follow-up PET/CT scan was performed three months after the identification of the peritoneal implant that showed that the nodule increased in size and in metabolism. The lesion continued to decrease significantly in size and became metabolically inactivity. Due to the good breast response and the possibility that the ileal nodule could be a granuloma, she underwent an exploratory laparoscopy with excision of the peritoneal nodule, and a modified left radical mastectomy with immediate breast reconstruction (complex wound closure). The final pathology report of the nodule was negative for malignancy. She continued on endocrine therapy and underwent whole breast irradiation four weeks after the operat
