The perfect combination of renewable energy and desalination technologies is the key to meeting water demands in a cost-effective,efficient and environmentally friendly *** desalination technique by humidificationdehumidification is non-conventional approach suitable for areas with low infrastructure(such as rural and decentralized regions)since it does not require permanent *** this study,this technology is implemented by using solar energy as a source of thermal power.A seawater desalination unit is considered,which consists of a chamber with two evaporators(humidifiers),a wetted porous material made of a corrugated cellulose cardboard and a condenser(dehumidifier).The evaporation system is tested with dry bulb temperature and relative air humidity *** results of numerical simulations indicate that higher inlet air velocities(from 0.75 to 3 m/s)lead to a decrease in theΔT,ΔRH,and *** the air remaining within the evaporator for 30 cm,the temperature differential increases to 5.7°C,accompanied by a 39%rise in relative humidity *** changes result in a significant enhancement in humidification efficiency,achieving a remarkable efficiency level of 78%.However,a wettability value of 630 m^(2)/m^(3)leads to a smaller reduction of these *** the pad thickness,particularly to 0.3 m,improves performance by boostingΔT,ΔRH,and effectiveness,especially for pads with a wettability of 630 m^(2)/m^(3),for which superior performances are predicted by the numerical tests.

This paper mainly studies the comparison of the global vehicle models and the effects of the inertial parameters due to the center of gravity(CG)positions when we consider that the vehicle has only one *** paper proposes a new nonlinear model vehicle model which considers both unsprung mass and sprung mass *** CG positions and inertial parameters effects are analyzed in terms of the published vehicle dynamics *** this end,two 14 degree-of-freedom(DOF)vehicle models are developed and compared to investigate the vehicle dynamics responses due to the different CG height and inertial parameters *** proposed models describe simultaneously the vehicle motion in longitudinal,lateral and vertical directions as well as roll,pitch and yaw of the vehicle about corresponding *** passive and active moments and the forces acting on the vehicle are also described and they are considered as a direct consequence of acceleration,braking and steering *** proposed model M1 takes both the CG of sprung mass,unsprung mass and total vehicle mass into *** second model M2 assumes that the vehicle is one solid body which has a single CG as reported in majority of *** two vehicle models are compared and analyzed to evaluate vehicle ride and handling dynamic responses under braking/acceleration and cornering *** results show that the proposed model M1 could offer analytically some abilities and driving performances,as well as improved roll and pitch in a very flexible manner compared to the second model M2.

In this paper, a new practical model for real heavy vehicle structure is developed to investigate dynamic responses under steering/acceleration or braking maneuvers. The generalized six DoFs （degrees-of-freedom） nonlinear vehicle model M1 including longitudinal, lateral, yaw, vertical, roll and pitch dynamics is validated using the measured data reported in different studies. This model takes the CG （center of gravity） of sprung mass, unsprung mass and total vehicle mass into account. Based on this model, the effects of the inertia parameters on the vehicle dynamic responses are investigated for more comprehensive assessments of the model structure. Another nonlinear vehicle model 342 derived from M1 which assumes that the vehicle has a single CG as reported in literature is also developed. The dynamic responses of the vehicle model Mj are compared with those of the model M2 to demonstrate the performance potential of the proposed nonlinear model. The results of dynamic responses with the nonlinear vehicle model MI suggest that the model could offer considerable potential in realizing enhanced ride and handling performance, as well as improved roll and pitch properties in a flexible manner.

A Case of Complete Neu-Laxova Syndrome: Report and Literature Review

Neu-Laxova syndrome (NLS) is a rare autosomal recessive and early fatal disease. It is a complex entity that includes intrauterine growth retardation, abnormal facial structure, limb and skeletal abnormalities, and ichthyosis and severe malformations of the central nervous system. We report a rare case of recurrence of Neu-Laxova syndrome in a 32-year-old pauciparous woman, which occurred after a first cousin’s consanguineous marriage. Typical ultrasound findings included hydramnios, severe intrauterine growth restriction, craniofacial and central nervous system abnormalities such as ventriculomegaly. The newborn shows a terrible face with a usual craniofacial aspect, eyeball proptosis, puffy hands and feet, large bilateral cleft lip/palate, severe hall body ichthyosis. The overcome was fatal, the death occurred in less than one hour after birth. Consanguinity remains the most implicated cause which is high in developing countries. Prenatal serial ultrasound examinations with genetic counselling should be performed on high-risk pregnant women to terminate affected pregnancies.

Removal from Water and Adsorption onto Natural Quartz Sand of Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone (HQ) is the most important hydroxy aromatic compound which is produced on a large scale. Understanding its fate in the environment is therefore of primary importance to prevent its migration in the soil and/or the contamination of the aquatic ecosystems. Here we present a column based method to investigate the physicochemical processes controlling the removal from the aqueous phase and the adsorption onto natural quartz sand (NQS), of organic pollutant such as HQ molecules. We will focus on the interactions that occur between the organic pollutant and the NQS substrate. Thus, column reactors filled with NQS were used to investigate the influence of physicochemical parameters such as the ionic strength, the pH, the flow rate, and the nature of the electrolyte cation, on the HQ adsorption from water onto NQS substrate. The data indicate that, when divalent instead of monovalent cations, are present in the effluent water injection phase, and/or when the ionic strength of the effluent increases, the adsorbed HQ amount decreases. Similar decrease of the adsorbed HQ amount was also observed, at constant ionic strength, by increasing either, the pH from 3 to 9, the flow rate Q from 1 to 3 ml·mn-1, or by decreasing the HQ initial concentration, C0 from 30 to 6 mg·L-1. Further, large amount of the organic pollutant (up to 93 wt% of HQ molecules) was removed from the effluent water phase by using NQS column. The overall data seem to indicate that the adsorption of HQ molecules on the NQS surface is mainly controlled by electrostatic interaction forces occurring between the organic molecule polar groups and the inorganic matrix silanol groups.

The aim of the present study was to estimate the production cost of dates of cv. Majhoul (Phoenix dactylifera L.) as part of the Moroccan strategy to develop the date palm sector, and to compare it to that reported in the main exporting regions. Data were collected through surveys of farmers and farm owners carried out in the “Meski Boudnib” extension zone during 2018 and 2019, as well as from studies performed by some governmental organizations. The surveys were conducted on 30 modern and productive date palm farms, managed in monoculture and equipped with localized irrigation systems. All fixed and variable costs were calculated. It was found, through our calculations, that the subsidies from the Moroccan government reduce the average investment cost of a modern date palm farm by 56%. It was also shown that the production cost of one ton of date fruits of cv. Majhoul in the extension zone “Meski Boudnib” (Morocco) is estimated at about 6060 MAD (US$ 634.5), out of which 28% represents the labor cost and 23% represents mineral and organic fertilization costs. The findings of the present study revealed that the production cost of one ton of cv. Majhoul dates in “Meski Boudnib” is lower than those reported in the Coachella Valley (20,189 MAD/ton;US$ 2114) and the Jordan Valley (10,536 MAD/ton;US$ 1103).

Drinking water is water that does not contain pathogens or chemicals at levels that may be harmful to health. Beni Mellal region, one of the major rich areas in ground and surface water in Morocco (the rivers like Oum Errabia, Darna, ...;Bin el-Ouidane and martyr Ahmed El Hansali dams and sources like Ain Asserdoune, …) is located in the North-Centre of Morocco. The main objective of the present study was to evaluate the microbiological quality of different drinking waters originated from sources, faucets, fountains and wells in the Beni Mellal city and its agricultural surrounding areas. For this, hygienic quality indicator parameters of water quality were determined by assessing the analysis of Total Coliforms Count, Fecal Coliforms Count, streptococcus D and revivable germs while germs such as Anaerobic Sulphite-reducing Bacteria, S. aureus and Salmonella sp, were carried out according to national and international standards. The analysis of the microbiological results found for all the different samples waters investigated in this study revealed that the waters originated from fountains, faucets and sources were proper for main consumption at microbiological point of view while the wells waters were improper for consumption according to norms. Finally, it appears, from the results obtained, that the potential risk of infection of water consumers especially (groundwater) calls for prompt intervention in order to alleviate the potential health impact of water-borne diseases in the community. From this, a proper sanitary survey and implementation of water and sanitation projects in the community is recommended.

The aims of this work turn towards the valorization of the underutilized Raw Sugar Beet Pulp by-product to produce white Cellulose Microfibers(CMFs),and its potential effect as a reinforcement for the development of High-Density Polyethylene(HDPE)*** CMFs were first obtained by subjecting raw SBP to alkali and bleaching *** characterization techniques were performed to confirm the successful removal of the amorphous compounds from the surface of individual fibers,including SEM,XRD,TGA,and FT-IR *** CMF loadings(5–10 wt%)were incorporated as bio-fillers into HDPE polymer to evaluate their reinforcing ability in comparison to raw and alkali-treated SBP using twin-screw extrusion followed by injection ***–(Ethylene–Butene)–Styrene Three-Block Co-Polymer Grafted with Maleic Anhydride was used as a compatibilizer to improve the interfacial adhesion between fibers and the ***,mechanical,and rheological properties of the produced composite samples were *** was found that the Young’s modulus were gradually increased with increasing of fibers loadings,with a maximum increase of 30%and 26%observed for composite containing 10 wt%of CMFs and raw SBP,respectively,over neat ***,the use of coupling agent enhances the ductile behavior of the *** was also found that all fiber improves the hardness and toughness behavior of all reinforced composites as well as the complex modulus particularly at 10 wt%.The thermal stability slightly increases with the addition of *** study demonstrates a new route for the valorization of SBP *** fibers can be considered as a valuable bio-fillers candidate for the development of composite materials with enhanced properties.
