Wound infect.ons can have devast.t.ng effect. on healing as well as t.e healt. of t.e pat.ent. Complicat.ons increase when t.e pat.ogens are capable of producing virulence fact.rs and/or are drug resist.nt. Novel met.ods are needed t. t.ke on t.e challenges of t.eat.ng such wounds. Drawt.x®?dressing is purport.d t. have hydroconduct.ve propert.es t.at.allow it.t. draw away debris and exudat. from t.e wound int. t.e dressing. t.e goal of t.is work is t. bet.er define t.ese int.ract.ons of t.is experiment.l dressing wit. bact.ria and virulence fact.rs. t.o series of in vit.o experiment. were performed. First. pieces of experiment.l dressing were submerged in a series of cult.res in flasks and samples of t.e dressing and cult.res were t.ken over 90 minut.s and assayed for bact.ria and virulence fact.r levels. Second, experiment.l or st.ndard care (cont.ol) dressings were placed on select.ve agar plat.d wit. pat.ogens of int.rest. Dressings and t.e agar covered by t.em were used t. quant.fy bact.ria and virulence fact.rs over t.me. t.e experiment.l dressing t.ok up bot. bact.ria and virulence fact.rs t. a larger ext.nt.t.an t.e cont.ol dressing. Experiment.l dressing significant.y reduced t.e load of bact.ria and virulence fact.rs in cult.res compared t. cont.ol cult.re wit.out.dressing. Based on t.e abilit. of t.e dressing t. t.ke up bact.ria and virulence fact.rs in t.is st.dy, t.e dat. point.t. t.e pot.nt.al for t.is dressing t. be similarly effect.ve in reducing or eliminat.ng pat.ogen from wounds, pot.nt.ally increasing t.e chances of successful wound healing.

Older adult. are significant.y impact.d by nat.ral hazards and disast.rs t.at.are exacerbat.d by climat. change. Underst.nding t.eir awareness and preparedness is essent.al for enhancing disast.r resilience. t.is st.dy invest.gat.d t.e at.it.des, act.ons, and recommendat.ons of older adult. regarding nat.ral hazards t.at.pose risks in t.eir geographic area—specifically floods, wildfires, and/or eart.quakes in Canada. Met.ods for t.is st.dy included survey and focus groups wit. older adult.(n = 161 and n = 10, respect.vely) and ot.er high-risk groups from across Canada, t.at.are vulnerable t. t.ese nat.ral hazards. t.e main findings from t.is st.dy are t.at.current.awareness and preparedness among older adult. is low, t.ough st.onger percept.ons of risks are associat.d wit. risks specific t. geographic locat.ons where respondent. live. Several barriers, such as hazard vulnerabilit. mispercept.ons, cost.relat.d reasons, and lack of hazard awareness have result.d in low awareness and preparedness among t.ese populat.ons. t.e t.o main recommendat.ons arising from t.is research are:(1) improve awareness and preparedness wit. t.ilor-made emergency preparedness mat.rials for older adult.;and(2) adopt.communit.-based approaches t. disast.r preparedness t.rough exist.ng communit. groups t. st.engt.en social connect.ons wit. a focus on locally specific hazards. t.e findings from t.is research can be applied t. ot.er hazards, including heat.aves and pandemics.

Object.ve:t. conduct.a syst.mat.c lit.rat.re review on uret.ral calculi in a cont.mporary cohort.describing et.ology,invest.gat.on,and management.***:A syst.mat.c search of MEDLINE and Cochrane Cent.al Regist.r of Cont.olled t.ials(CENt.AL)dat.bases was ***,including case report. and case series on uret.ral calculi published bet.een January 2000 and December 2019,were ***-t.xt.manuscript. were reviewed for clinical paramet.rs including sympt.mat.logy,et.ology,medical hist.ry,invest.gat.ons,t.eat.ent.and *** were collat.d and analyzed wit. univariat. ***:Sevent.-four publicat.ons met.inclusion crit.ria,report.ng on 95 *** sympt.ms(41.1%),pain(40.0%),and acut. urinary ret.nt.on(32.6%)were common present.ng *** calculi were most.oft.n init.ally invest.gat.d using plain X-ray(63.2%),wit. almost.all radio-opaque(98.3%).Uret.ral calculi were frequent.y associat.d wit. coexist.nt.bladder or upper urinary t.act.calculi(16.8%)and underlying uret.ral pat.ology(53.7%)including divert.culum(33.7%)or st.ict.re(13.7%).Uret.ral calculi were most.commonly managed wit. ext.rnal uret.rolit.ot.my(31.6%),ret.ograde manipulat.on(22.1%),and endoscopic in sit. lit.ot.ipsy(17.9%).Conclusion:t.is unique syst.mat.c review of uret.ral calculi provided a summary of clinical feat.res and t.eat.ent.t.ends wit. a suggest.d t.eat.ent.*** in cont.mporary urological pract.ce should be according t. calculus size,shape,anat.mical locat.on,and presence of uret.ral pat.ology.
