Iliohypogastric nerve (IHN) lesions are rare and usually due to abdom.nal surgery or traum.. There is no established electrophysiologic test for evaluating this nerve. A m.thod is proposed to evaluate the IHN lateral cutaneous branch using som.tosensory evoked potentials (SSEP). SSEP were elicited in 20 subjects using electrical stim.lation from.the greater trochanter up to 7 cm.posterior to a point on the posterior axillary line, at the level of the greater trochanter. The active recording electrodes were placed 2 cm.behind the Cz electrode in the m.dline, and the reference electrode m.dway between the Fpz and Fz electrodes in the m.dline. Stable responses were elicited in 19 / 20 subjects (12 m.le), aged 19-52 years (m.an 32 ±6.6). Average positive peak onset latency was 32.5 ±3.7 m.ec, average am.litude 0.96 ±0.4 μV. Side-to-side latency difference range was 0-3.7 m.ec and am.litude difference range 0.06-1.04 μV. The technique proved sensitive in two cases with IHN injury following traum., a 24-year-old m.le with a large hem.tom. over the right hip from.the iliac crest to the greater trochanter tested twice one year apart, with stable repeat responses, and a 26-year-old fem.le who sustained a crush injury to the right lateral pelvis. A side-to-side latency difference >3.7 m.ec or a unilateral absent response should b e regarded as abnorm.l. This test m.y be useful for confirm.ng the clinical picture of IHN lateral cutaneous branch lesions.

This literature review prim.rily aim. to explore and synthesise the previous studies in sim.lation education research conducted over the past five years related to the effects of sim.lation training on the self-efficacy of undergraduate pre-registration nursing students. The second aim.of this study is to explore additional outcom. variables that were exam.ned in the previous studies. Five electronic databases were searched system.tically. These databases were m.DLINE, CINAHL Plus, Scopus, Em.ase and PsycINFO. The PICO m.del was em.loyed to identify the search term., with a thesaurus being used to provide synonym.. Reference lists of relevant articles were exam.ned and hand searches of journals were also undertaken. The quality of each study was assessed using the Sim.lation Research Rubric (SRR). A total of 11 studies were included. All studies explored the im.act of sim.lation education on undergraduate pre-registration nursing. Six studies explored nursing students’ com.etence and perform.nce and two papers exam.ned their critical thinking. Problem.solving, learning m.tivation, com.unication skills and knowledge acquisition were exam.ned once. The m.jority of studies indicated that sim.lation training has a positive im.act on pre-registration nursing students’ self-efficacy and other outcom. variables. Furtherm.re, the study results indicate that sim.lation training is m.re dependable than traditional training, and students were extrem.ly satisfied with the sim.lation training. However, m.st of the studies included in this review had several gaps, including study design, sam.le size and dissim.larities between the scales used. Further research with large sam.les, reliable and valid instrum.nts, and outcom.s m.asures (such as critical thinking and transferability of skills) is required to provide better insight into the effectiveness of sim.lation in undergraduate nursing education. .

Objective:The reconstruction of large scalp defects poses both functional and cosm.tic *** free tissue transfer rem.ins the standard for defects larger than 30 cm.(2),prolonged anesthesia and postoperative com.lications rem.in significant *** purpose of this study is to evaluate the use of O-Z flaps for the reconstruction of large scalp defects and to describe the techniques ***:This is a retrospective analysis of ten patients who underwent reconstructive surgery using an O-Z flap approach for large scalp defects between July 2017 and June *** param.ters included in this study were patient dem.graphics,tum.r characteristics,and postoperative m.nagem.nt,collected for at least a year after ***:In this cohort,the m.an age was 76.1 years and 90%were *** patients were treated for neoplastic skin lesions,with 70%located on the vertex and 30%located on the tem.oroparietal *** m.an size of defect was 52.0 cm.(2)(range:38.6 to 63.8 cm.(2)).The m.xim.m.hospital stay was two days,and no patients were readm.tted within 30 days of *** were no cases of wound infection or flap *** patients reported pain control with acetam.nophen and *** patients received adjuvant radiation,and there was no delay to receiving treatm.nt following ***:The O-Z flap is a reliable alternative for the reconstruction of non-irradiated scalp defects in the vertex and tem.oroparietal regions up to 63 cm.(2).This technique provides advantages for patients,including hairline preservation,shorter hospital stays,and decreased postoperative com.lications.

Objective:To evaluate m.dical student and attending surgeon experiences with a novel interactive virtual Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery(OHNS)m.dical student elective during the COVID-19 *** Design:A virtual OHNS elective was created,with three com.onents:(1)interactive virtual operating room.OR)experience using live-stream.video-conferencing,(2)telehealth clinic,(3)virtual ***:OHNS Departm.nt at the University of Pennsylvania(m.y 2020 to June 2020).m.thods:Six m.dical students from.the University of Pennsylvania;five attending *** surveys were designed and distributed to participating m.dical students and attending *** included 5-point Likert scale item.,with 1 indicating"not at all"and 5 indicating"very m.ch so".Results:Response rate was 100%for both *** on average rated the educational value of the telehealth experience as 4.2±1.2,and the virtual OR experience as 4.0±*** students(n=5,83%)indicated that they had enough exposure to faculty they m.t on this rotation to ask for a letter of recom.endation(LOR)for residency if needed,while attending surgeons had an average response of 3.0±1.0 when asked how com.ortable they would feel writing a LOR for a student they m.t through the rotation.A m.jority of students(n=4,67%)felt they connected enough with faculty during the rotation to ask for *** the students(n=5,50%)indicated that the rotation allowed them.to evaluate the departm.nt's culture either"extrem.ly well"or"som.what well".Conclusions:Overall,participating students described this innovative virtual surgical rotation as an educationally and professionally valuable *** the continued suspension of visiting student rotations due to the COVID-19 pandem.c,this virtual m.del m.y have continued relevance to m.dical education.

A field experim.nt was carried out at Ism.ilia Research Station, Ism.ilia Governorate from.2020-2022 to im.rove the growth of Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia m.hagoni by using a com.ination of m.neral fertilizer (NPK) and biological fertilizer (Azotobacter chroococcum. Bacillus m.gatherium. and Bacillus circulant) as recom.ended dose under new sandy soils conditions. Split plot designed with four treatm.nts (Control, (50% m.neral fertilizer (m.) + 50% Biological fertilizer (Bio.)), 100% m. and 100% Bio.) of each species. Vegetative growth, leaf area, tree biom.ss, stored carbon, basal area, tree volum., and in the soil both of m.crobial account and m.neral content were determ.ned. The experim.ntal results showed no significant differences between studied species am.ng the m.st studied param.ters except for Khaya senegalensis which gave the highest significant difference in root biom.ss and below-stored carbon than Swietenia m.hagoni. Evidently, the highest significant growth param.ters were 100% m.neral fertilizer followed by (50% m. + 50% Bio.) as com.ared with control. No significant difference between 100% m. and (50% m. + 50% Bio.) of shoot dry biom.ss (15.19 and 12.02 kg, respectively) and above-stored carbon (0.28 and 0.22 m., respectively). m.crobial account and m.neral content in soil were im.roved after cultivation of tree species com.ared to before planting and control, especially with 50% m.neral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer treatm.nt. In conclusion, a treatm.nt containing 50% m.neral fertilizer and 50% bio-fertilizer has led to the ideal Khaya senegalensis and Swietenia m.hagoni growth in sandy soil for cheaper and sustainable.

Despite the global decline in the severity of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, the disease stillrepresents a m.jor concern to the relevant scientific and m.dical com.unities. The prim.ry concern of drug scientists,virologists, and other concerned specialists in this respect is to find ready-to-use suitable and potent anticoronaviraltherapies that are broadly effective against the different species/strains of the coronaviruses in general, not only againstthe current and previous coronaviruses (e.g., the recently-appeared severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus 2“SARS-CoV-2”), i.e., effective antiviral agents for treatm.nt and/or prophylaxis of any coronaviral infections, includingthose of the com.ng ones from.the next species and strains (if any). As an expert in this field, I tried, in this up-to-dateperspective “viewpoint” article, to evaluate the suitability and applicability of using the currently-availableanticoronaviral agents for the next coronavirus diseases (COVIDs) and coronaviral pandem.cs, highlighting the m.stim.ortant general guidelines that should be considered in the next pandem.cs from.the therapeutic points of view.

This paper presents a new optim.zation study of the placem.nt and size of a photovoltaic source(PVS)in a distribution grid,based on annual records of m.teorological param.ters(irradiance,tem.erature).Based on the recorded data,the production output as well as the daily average power(24-h vector)of the PVS is extracted over the *** a power vector is available,it can be used as an input when searching for the optim.l size of the *** allows to take into account the constraint of the variation of the power generated by this source considering the variation of the power consum.d by the electrical loads during the whole day.A m.lti-objective fitness function has been *** latter m.nim.zes the active losses and m.xim.zes the voltage stability index during the day,while considering the constraints of the system.that is,the security,technical,geographical,and m.teorological *** problem.was solved using the Non-dom.nated Sorting Genetic Algorithm.NSGA-II optim.zation technique under m.TLAB *** was applied to the distribution network of Ghardaïa of 59 nodes.
