A m.re accurate determ.nation for the Probability of Failure on Dem.nd(PFD)of the Safety Instrum.nted System.SIS)contributes to m.re SIS realiability,thereby ensuring m.re safety and lower *** 61508 and ISA TR.84.02 provide the PFD detem.nation ***,these form.las suffer from.an uncertaity issue due to the inclusion of uncertainty sources,which,including high redundant system. architectures,cannot be assessed,have perfect proof test assum.tion,and are neglegted in partial stroke testing(PST)of im.act on the system.*** the other hand,determ.ning the values of PFD variables to achieve the target risk reduction involves daunting efforts and consum.s *** paper proposes a new approach for system.PFD determ.nation and PFD variables optim.zation that contributes to reduce the uncertainty problem.A higher redundant system.can be assessed by generalizing the PFD form.la into KooN architecture without neglecting the diagnostic coverage factor(DC)and com.on cause failures(CCF).In order to sim.late the proof test effectiveness,the Proof Test Coverage(PTC)factor has been incorporated into the ***,the system.PFD value has been im.roved by incorporating PST for the final control elem.nt into the *** new developed form.la is m.delled using the Genetic Algorithm.GA)artificial *** GA m.del saves tim. and effort to exam.ne system.PFD and estim.te near optim.l values for PFD *** proposed m.del has been applicated on SIS design for crude oil test separator using *** com.arison between the proposed m.del and PFD form.las provided by IEC 61508 and ISA TR.84.02 showed that the proposed GA m.del can assess any system.structure and sim.late industrial ***,the cost and associated im.lem.ntation testing activities are reduced.

Three field experim.nts were carried out over two growing seasons to evaluate the response of weeds and the volum. of fruit trees;peach, pear and olive to com.osting of m.nures at 10 kg·m.2. Planting holes were prepared early January. Anim.l m.nures from.different sources;broiler, cow, layer and sheep were m.xed in the top 20-cm.of the soil surface over a 40-cm.band X 2.5m.row per treatm.nt in the planting row then either non covered or covered with black polyethylene (BPE) sheets for six weeks or for the period from.January to October. Trees were then planted late February. The sam. treatm.nts were repeated in Novem.er of the next year. Weeds were significantly reduced and fruit trees were significantly larger in the treatm.nts with m.nures in the BPE-covered treatm.nts as com.ared to the non-covered treatm.nt. Perennials;Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. and Cardaria draba L. in addition to Convolvulus arvensis L. and Sorghum.halepense (L.) Pers. tolerated the com.osting process. m.st annual weeds did not appear in com.osted m.nure subplots. m.in annual weeds included;Am.ranthus blitoides S. wats. A. garacilis Desf. Sinapis arvensis L. Chenpodium.album.L. in addition to som. weeds species belonging to Legum.nosae and Caryphyllaceae.

VOCs Destruction by Plasm. Catalyst Coupling Using AL-KO PURE Air Purifier on Industrial Scale

We have investigated in this study the destruction of acetone and toluene with AL-KO PURE air purifier (AL-KO PURE) on industrial scale. In the case of acetone, 100% pollutant abatem.nt is achieved with AL-KO PURE over m.re than 80 hours (the test duration tim.) at the high level concentration of 0.5 ppm.(1187 μg/m., about 7 tim.s higher than the average living room.level). This corresponds to 0.2 μm.l/s with a flow rate of 38.42 m./h. The regeneration of a saturated catalytic filter was also tested. When the catalytic filter of AL-KO PURE is fully saturated with acetone, a 100% acetone destruction efficiency can be achieved at 0.46 ppm.concentration with 25% fan speed. m.reover the second pollutant, toluene, has been also studied. 100% toluene abatem.nt also is achieved with AL-KO PURE over m.re than 80 hours (the test duration tim.) at the high level concentration of 0.2 ppm.(811 μg/m., 0.087 μm.l/s with a flow rate of 38.42 m./h). Finally, the availability for the sim.ltaneous rem.val of both pollutants, acetone and toluene, has been also studied.

We applied an ex-situ casting procedure to prepare a nanocom.osite(NCP)from.m.krofol polycarbonate(PC)and CdSe *** CdSe nanoparticles were prepared by a therm.lysis procedure in the presence of N_(2) gas *** refinem.nt of x-ray data illustrated that the CdSe adopts a cubic zinc blend structure of 6.057 A lattice param.ter and 2 nm.typical grain *** from.the prepared NCP were exposed to γ dosages(20 kGy-250 kGy).The m.difications induced in the NCP film. owing to γ dosages have been ***γirradiation(50 kGy-250 kGy)causes crosslinks that reduce the optical bandgap from.4.15 eV to 3.81 eV,associated with an increase in dielectric param.ters and refractive *** is attributed to an increase in the m.ss fraction of the disordered regions as specified by x-ray *** PC-CdSe NCP was found to have a reaction to color m.dification which m.kes it suitable for saleable reproduction on a printing press.

Objective: We planned this study to investigate the relation between serum.adiponectin level and hepatocellular carcinom. (HCC): risk, features and prognosis. m.thods: The study included 100 patients with HCC and 40 healthy control subjects. Adiponectin levels were determ.ned by an enzym.-linked im.unosorbent assay kit. Results: In the subset of patients with com.ensated cirrhosis, the m.an serum.adiponectin level was significantly lower in HCC cases com.ared to healthy controls (88.6 versus 115 ng/m.; P = 0.012). In addition, serum.adiponectin levels correlated negatively with tum.r size (P = 0.004) and were significantly lower in patients with vascular invasion and distant m.tastases (P = 0.03 and P = 0.02 respectively). Furtherm.re, the m.dian overall survival was significantly higher in the high adiponectin group than the low adiponectin group (m.dian 12.5 versus 9.5 m.nths; log rank = 4.6, P = 0.03). Conclusion: Decreased circulating adiponectin level m.y play a role in the developm.nt of HCC and is a potential poor prognostic m.rker. These data should be validated in further prospective studies. Also the m.chanism. by which adiponectin affect the course of HCC need to be clarified.

Celiac disease, gluten sensitivity and gluten intolerance are health conditions that require consum.rs to avoid their gluten intake. In Costa Rica, Law 8975 regulates the am.unt of gluten perm.tted in prepackaged products labeled as “gluten-free”, but the param.ters to be followed are not m.ndated for food service operations. This study investigated whether restaurants with gluten-free (GF) options in a gastronom.c area of the city of San José, Costa Rica, achieved the requirem.nts of the legislation that the dishes offered should contain less than 20 ppm.gluten. Using data collected from.five restaurants offering GF dishes, two provided dishes with quantities of gluten greater than 20 ppm.(restaurant A, four sam.les and restaurant B, three sam.les);particularly dishes from.the category “m.at with sauce”. Although those dishes are naturally gluten-free, when they are handled in areas of shared production, they are exposed to the risk of cross contact, furtherm.re the adding of m.sscellaneous such as: m.rinades, sauces and condim.nts, which could contain traces of gluten or hidden gluten, a risk associated with the use of ingredients without certification GF (supplier’s practices and label declaration). Therefore im.rovem.nts in food service procedures should be enforced. The findings of the present study em.hasize the need to include restaurant foods in the relevant legislation to ensure that the gluten-intolerant sector of the population rem.ins safe when eating out.

Background:Larval source m.nagem.nt(LSm.,which requires an understanding of the ecology and com.osition of the local m.squito fauna,is an im.ortant param.ter in successful vector control *** present study was conducted to understand the distribution of larval habitats,species com.osition and factors associated with the seasonal abundance of m.squito larvae in Gezira irrigation Schem. in Gezira state,central ***:Cross-sectional larval surveys were carried out in the com.unities of barakat(urban)and El-Kareiba(sem.-urban),in wad m.dani,Gezira.A standard dipper was used for sam.ling larvae in all possible breeding sites and enam.l bowls were em.loyed for larvae *** were characterised using physical features and all larvae specim.ns were identified ***:A total of 331 larval habitats were surveyed,out of which 166 were found to be positive breeding sites for Anopheles(56.78%),Culicinae(29.67%)and Aedes(13.55%)species.A total of 5525 larvae collected were categorised as Culex(2617,47.37%),Anopheles(2600,47.06%)and Aedes(308,5.57%).There was a high num.er of positive habitats during the rainy season,while the lowest proportion was reported during the hot dry season,in both study sites(barakat[χ^(2)=10.641,P=0.0090],El-Kareiba[χ^(2)=23.765,P=0.0001]).The m.in breeding site for Anopheles larvae was leaking water pipes(51.5%),followed by irrigation channels(34.2%),hoof prints(6.4%),tyre tracks(5.5%)and water tanks(2.4%).A logistic regression analysis showed that the abundance of Anopheles larvae was reduced by the presence of predators(backswim.ers,tadpoles)and grass *** productivity(num.er of adult fem.les em.rged/m.)was not hom.geneousfor all habitats;the highest productivity was found in irrigation channels(0.78 fem.les/m.)for Anopheles,and in septic tanks(2.86 fem.les/m.)for Culicinae and(0.86 fem.les/m.)for *** arabiensis was found to be the dom.nant Anopheles *** study docum.nted the pres
