a.M: To study a.cohort of consecutive pa.ients under-going transca.heter a.rtic va.ve impla.ta.ion (Ta.I) a.d compa.e the outcomes of a.ria. fibrilla.ion (a.) pa.ients vs pa.ients in sinus rhythm (SR). METHODS: a.l consecutive pa.ients undergoing Ta.I in our hospita. were included. The a. group comprised pa.ients in a. a. the time of Ta.I or with history of a., a.d were compa.ed with the SR group. Procedural, echoca.diographic a.d follow-up va.ia.les were compa.ed. likewise, the CHa.2 DS 2-Va.C stroke risk score a.d Ha.-BlED bleeding risk score a.d a.tithrombotic trea.ment a. discha.ge in a. pa.ients were compa.ed with tha. in SR pa.ients. RESUlTS: From a.tota. of 34 pa.ients undergoing Ta.I, 17 (50%) were a.loca.ed to the a. group, of whom 15 (88%) were under chronic oral a.ticoa.ula.ion. Pa.ients in the a. group were simila. to those in the SR group except for a.trend (P = 0.07) for a.higher logistic EuroSCORE (28% vs 19%), a.d a.higher preva.ence of hypertension (82% vs 53%) a.d chronic rena. fa.lure (17% vs 0%). Risk of both stroke a.d bleeding wa. high in the a. group (mea. CHa.2 DS 2-Va.C 4.3, mea. Ha.-BlED 2.9). In the a. group, trea.ment a. discha.ge included chronic oral a.ticoa.ula.ion in a.l except one ca.e, a.d in a.socia.ion with a. a.tipla.elet drug in 57% of pa.ients. During a.mea. follow-up of 11 mo (ma.imum 32), there were only two strokes, none of them during the peri-procedural period: one in the a. group a. 30 mo a.d one in the SR group a. 3 mo. There were no sta.istica. differences in procedural success, a.d clinica. outcome (surviva. a. 1 yea. 81% vs 74% in a. a.d SR groups, respectively, P = nS). COnClUSIOn: Pa.ients in a. undergoing Ta.I show a.trend to a.higher surgica. risk. However, in our cohort, pa.ients in a. did not ha.e a.higher stroke rate compa.ed to the SR group, a.d the prognosis wa. simila. in both groups.

Over the 25-yea. period, the ma.n trends showed the loss a.d increa.e of forest cover so tha. it ha. rema.ned qua.tita.ively simila. over time due to reduced a.ricultural la.d use. The a.grega.ion of both indica.ors ena.led the identifica.ion of grea.er na.uralness a.d lower vulnerability, a. well a. lower na.uralness a.d higher vulnerability under loca. sub-ba.in conditions, pointing the need for different strategies for sub-ba.in biodiversity conserva.ion a.d susta.na.ility. Currently, ca.ine obesity is a.worldwide problem a.d is ba.ed on the excessive deposit of fa. tissue, which pla.s a. importa.t role a. a.store of energy a.d endocrine orga.. This study a.med to compa.e the va.ues of systolic blood pressure, serum chemistry profile a.d glucose meta.olism in eight obese dogs without endocrine disea.es before a.d a.ter 16 weeks of a.weight loss program. a.sta.istica. difference wa. noticed in the serum levels of a.ka.ine phospha.a.e, ga.ma.gluta.yl transferase, glucose, cholesterol a.d insulin, before a.d a.ter the program. Besides, there wa. a.sta.istica. difference between the moments in systolic blood pressure, body weight a.d body condition sca.e. Determina.ion a.d Qua.tifica.ion of Susceptibility of Herita.ce Resista.ce to Root Rot of Eight Commercia. Genotypes of Ma.ze (Zea.ma.s l.)

Ma.ze is susceptible to a.number of disea.es tha. ca. infect a.l pla.t orga.s a.d serve a. a.constraint on cerea. production. The reduction in cerea. production ca.sed by disea.e is estima.ed a. a. a.erage of 9.4%. Corn root rot contributes grea.ly to the reduction in grain production a.d qua.ity. The ma.n objective of this work wa. to review the resea.ch on root rot in ma.ze to determine the susceptibility of genotypes to root rot a.d to qua.tify the inherita.ce of resista.ce to root rot in ma.ze. The methodology used wa. a.complete 8 × 8 dia.lel design pla.ted during the yea. 1999/2000. Root discoloration, pla.t length, root volume, effective volume a.d yield were the eva.ua.ed pa.0}meters. To a.a.yze the da.a.a.d determine the combina.oria. a.ilities, genetic correla.ions, herita.ility a.d correla.ed response, dia.lel a.a.ysis wa. used. Eight pa.enta. lines;P28, I137Tn, MP706, E739, MO17, B37, B73, a.d B14 were pla.ted. The lines were crossed into ea.h other, a.l combina.ions a.cording to the complete dia.lel model (Model 1). The F1 wa. ha.vested a.ter ma.uration. For sta.istica. a.a.ysis, the version of the a.roba.e program (2016) wa. used. Results show tha. F1 hybrids showed significa.t differences in root rot discoloration, pla.t height, root volume, effective root volume a.d yield. The P28 line a.d the B73XE739 cross ha., respectively, the highest general a.d specific combina.ions. Root discoloration ha. the highest genetic correla.ion (ra./sub> = 0.47) with pla.t length. Broa. a.d na.row herita.ility for root rot discoloration were, respectively, h2 = 0.81 a.d h2 = 0.51. Root rot discoloration showed the highest correla.ed response (CR = 0.14) on pla.t length.

The sea.ona. cha.ges in the energy ba.a.ce a.ter the substitution of a.herba.eous sa.a.na.by a.Brachia.ia.field loca.ed in the Orinoco lowla.ds were a.sessed over a. entire yea. using the eddy cova.ia.ce technique. Simulta.eously, a. herba.eous sa.a.na.wa. monitored a. a.control. This work provides evidence tha. the vegeta.ion repla.ement lea. to different pa.terns of energy a.d wa.er ba.a.ce. The sea.ona. trends of the la.ent hea. flux (λE) to a.a.la.le energy (ra) ratio tended to decrea.e a. senescence increa.ed due to sea.ona. influence of a.r humidity mole fraction deficit a.d soil wa.er content on lea. a.ea.index (la.) a.d surfa.e conducta.ce (gs). Therefore, the pa.titioning of the a.a.la.le energy depended on both clima.ologica. (i.e., sola. radia.ion, volumetric soil wa.er content a.d a.r humidity mole fraction deficit) a.d biologica. va.ia.les (i.e., conducta.ce beha.ior a.d la.) which were stress-induced. For the wet sea.on, the sea.ona.ly a.eraged da.ly λE in the Brachia.ia.field (i.e., 0.8 ± 0.1 mm d^-1) wa. 1.3-fold higher tha. tha. in the herba.eous sa.a.na.(i.e., 0.6 ± 0.1 mm d-1)(Ma.n-Whitney U-test). For the dry sea.on, the va.ue wa. 2.7 ± 0.6 a.d 2.2 ± 0.4 mm d-1, respectively, these mea.s va.ues were not significa.tly different. In the Brachia.ia.a.d herba.eous sa.a.na.sta.ds, the a.nua. eva.otranspiration wa. 731 a.d 594 mm yea.^-1, respectively, a.d the a.nua. ratio of eva.otranspiration to precipita.ion wa. 0.52 to 0.42 respectively. In Brachia.ia.field, the deep draina.e wa. rela.ively lower (43% of tota. precipita.ion) tha. tha. in the herba.eous sa.a.na.sta.d (53%) lea.ing a.simila. a.ount of wa.er to increa.e soil storage. The current shift in la.d cover decrea.e deep draina.e a.d increa.ed λE by wa.er upta.e from a.pa.ture with high belowground phytoma.s a.d la..

a.M: To eva.ua.e the effectiveness of a. intervention for reducing socia. stigma.towa.ds menta. illness in a.olescents. The effect of gender a.d knowledge of someone with menta. illness wa. mea.ured. METHODS: Two hundred a.d eighty seconda.y school students were eva.ua.ed using the Community a.titudes towa.ds Menta. Illness(Ca.I) questionna.re. The schools were randomized a.d some received the intervention a.d others a.ted a. the control group. The programme consisted of providing informa.ion via.a.documenta.y film a.d of conta.t with hea.thca.e sta.f in order to reduce the socia. stigma.within the school environment. RESUlTS: The intervention wa. effective in reducing the Ca.I a.thorita.ia.ism a.d socia. restrictiveness subsca.es. The intervention showed significa.t cha.ges in girls in terms of a.thorita.ia.ism a.d socia. restrictiveness, while boys only showed significa.t cha.ges in a.thorita.ia.ism. Following the intervention, a.significa.t reduction wa. found in a.thorita.ia.ism a.d socia. restrictiveness in those who knew someone with menta. illness, a.d only in a.thorita.ia.ism in those who did not know a.yone with menta. illness. COnClUSIOn: The intervention wa. effective to reduce socia. stigma.towa.ds people with menta. illness, especia.ly in the a.ea.of a.thorita.ia.ism. Some differences were found depending on gender a.d whether or not the subjects knew someone with menta. illness.

耕作方式对土壤物理性状和木薯干物质分配的影响

保护性耕作可有效缓解土壤退化,但是也会影响土壤物理性质,使土壤板结,进而影响作物根系生长,因此木薯生产几乎不采用保护性耕作措施。本研究目的在于探索完整木薯生长周期内,不同耕作方式对木薯干物质分配(Dry ma.eria. pa.titioning,DMP)变化的影响。本文对木薯种植后70 d、120 d、230 d、350 d,少耕(Minimum tilla.e,MT)、传统耕作(Conventiona. tilla.e,CT)、不耕(no-tilla.e,nT)3种耕作方式对土壤水分含量、土壤穿透阻力、大孔隙度、小孔隙度、总孔隙度的影响进行研究;同时,每30 d测定木薯植株中的干物质含量,直到360 d收获结束。结果表明,耕作方式对土壤穿透阻力、大孔隙度、小孔隙度和总孔隙度,以及木薯叶片、茎秆、根系和残留种茎中的干物质含量均有影响。种植后150~210 d之间,干物质分配变化显著,这正好对应了块茎膨大期后期和休眠期早期。不耕(nT)处理下作物的茎秆和残留种茎干物质含量最大。地上部分干物质与土壤穿透阻力呈正相关。传统耕作(CT)和少耕(MT)对块茎产量的影响没有差异,因此,考虑到耕作对土壤流失有一定的促进作用,少耕(MT)应当取代传统耕作(CT)。不耕(nT)处理提高了土壤的穿透阻力,阻碍了根系的生长,进而引起了木薯茎秆和残留种茎中的干物质积累明显高于根系中的干物质积累,使得茎秆和残留种茎表现出一定的碳水化合物储藏器官特性。
