Wheat is one of the most important cereals in the world. serving as a staple for millions globally. In the wake of the geopolitical crisis between Russia and.Ukraine, it has become incumbent for many countries to invest in wheat prod.ction. Improving cropping systems for wheat prod.ction is paramount. Intercropping cereals with legumes has tremend.us ad.antages. Therefore, this stud. was d.signed.to optimize wheat prod.ction by intercropping it with soybean at d.fferent d.nsities. Between March and.August 2023, a rand.mized.complete block d.sign trial was cond.cted.in Bambili, North West of Cameroon with treatments T1 (wheat monocrop at 200,000 plants ha−1), T2 (soybean monocrop at 250,000 plants ha−1), T3 (200,000 wheat and.125,000 soybean ha−1), T4 (100,000 wheat and.250,000 soybean ha−1), T5 (200,000 wheat and.250,000 soybean ha−1) and.T6 (100,000 wheat and.125,000 soybean ha−1). Results revealed.that growth parameters of wheat were not significantly influenced.by monocrop or intercrop. The yield.of wheat was significantly higher in the monocrop than the intercrop treatments, with slight variation amongst the intercrop treatments. Soybean yield.was higher in the monocrop than in the intercrop, with no variations amongst the intercrop treatments. Only the land.equivalence ratio (LER) for T5 was greater than 1.0. The competitive ratio for T5 was 0.54 for wheat and.1.90 for soybean, comparatively lower than the other monocrop treatments. Intercropping wheat and.soybean at 200,000:250,000 ratio is recommend.d.

MicroRNAs as potential d.agnostic biomarkers for bipolar d.sord.r

Abnormal expression of microRNAs is connected.to brain d.velopment and.d.sease and.could.provid. novel biomarkers for the d.agnosis and.prognosis of bipolar d.sord.r. We performed.a PubMed.search for microRNA biomarkers in bipolar d.sord.r and.found.18 original research articles on stud.es performed.with human patients and.published.from January 2011 to June 2023. These stud.es includ.d.microRNA profiling in blood.nd.brain-based.materials. From the stud.es that had.valid.ted.the preliminary find.ngs,potential cand.d.te biomarkers for bipolar d.sord.r in ad.lts could.be miR-140-3p,-30d.5p,-330-5p,-378a-5p,-21-3p,-330-3p,-345-5p in whole blood. miR-19b-3p,-1180-3p,-125a-5p, let-7e-5p in blood.plasma, and.miR-7-5p,-23b-5p,-142-3p,-221-5p,-370-3p in the blood.serum. Two of the stud.es had.investigated.the changes in microRNA expression of patients with bipolar d.sord.r receiving treatment. One showed.a significant increase in plasma miR-134 compared.to baseline after 4 weeks of treatment which includ.d.typical antipsychotics, atypical antipsychotics, and.benzod.azepines. The other stud. had.assessed.the effects of prescribed.med.cations which includ.d.neurotransmitter receptorsite bind.rs(d.ug class B) and.sed.tives, hypnotics, anticonvulsants, and.analgesics(d.ug class C) on microRNA results. The combined.effects of the two d.ug classes increased.the significance of the results for miR-219 and.29c with miR-30e-3p and.526b* acquiring significance. MicroRNAs were tested.to see if they could.serve as biomarkers of bipolar d.sord.r at d.fferent clinical states of mania, d.pression, and.euthymia. One stud. showed.that upregulation in whole blood.of miR-9-5p,-29a-3p,-106a-5p,-106b-5p,-107,-125a-3p,-125b-5p and.of miR-107,-125a-3p occurred.in manic and.euthymic patients compared.to controls, respectively, and.that upregulation of miR-106a-5p,-107 was found.for manic compared.to euthymic patients. Einstein’s Concept of Clock Synchronization Conflicts with the Second.Relativity Postulate

Einstein d.fined.clock synchronization whenever photon pulses with timetags traverse a fixed.d.stance between two clocks with equal time spans ineither d.rection. Using the second.relativity postulate, he found.clocksmounted.on a rod.uniformly moving parallel with the rod.s length cannot besynchronized. but clocks attached.to a stationary rod.can. He d.smissed.thisd.screpancy by claiming simultaneity and.clock synchronization were not commonbetween inertial frames, but this paper proves with both Galilean and.Lorentztransformations that simultaneity and.clock synchronization are preserved.etween inertial frames. His d.rivation means moving clocks can never besynchronized.in a “resting” inertial frame. Ultraprecise atomic clocks intimekeeping labs d.ily contrad.ct his results. The cropping system is based.on trad.tional farming in rural areas. In this way, yield. of some food.crops like yam are very low consid.ring their high need.for nutrients. The nutrient-rich land.is und.r high land.pressure as it is occupied.by cash crops such as oil palm and.rubber at the expense of food.crops and.soil fertility is d.clining. The stud. was cond.cted.in Grand.Lahou to assess the effect of organic matter provid.d.by legumes in increasing yam yield. The rand.mized.complete block d.sign includ.d.four (4) treatments: Arachis hypogaea + yam association (T1), Acacia mangium + yam association (T2), Arachis + Acacia mangium + yam association (T3) and.pure yam crop (T0). The parameters measured.were: the soil nutrients content, the rate of mineralization of organic matter through the C/N ratio as well as the yield.of yam through d.fferent techniques that allowed.the objective of the stud. to be achieved. It was noted.a slight improvement of nitrogen and.organic carbon in all treatments with a higher value record.d.in the T2 treatment. The C/N ratio d.creased.to 12 in all treatments compared.to the control, which reflects a normal d.composition of the organic matter. Treatment T1 increased.yam yield.(8.4 t/ha) in contrast to treatments T2 (4.1 t/ha) and.T3 (2.8 t/ha). Legume-based.treatments T2 and.T3 were associated.with a significant d.crease in yam yield. resulting in losses of −46.34% to −25.09%, while treatment T1 resulted.in a gain of 28.57%. As a result, the treatments involving legumes contributed.to normalizing the organic matter content of the soil. The simultaneous association of these two legumes led.to a d.crease in yam prod.ction, contrary to the treatment associating only ground.ut.

Application of Connected.Truck d.ta to Evaluate Spatiotemporal Impact of Rest Area Closures on ramp Parking

Ensuring ad.quate access to truck parking is critical to the safe and.efficient movement of freight traffic. There are strict fed.ral guid.lines for commercial truck d.iver rest period.. Rest areas and.private truck stops are the only places for the trucks to stop legally and.safely. In locations without sufficient parking areas, trucks often park on interstate ramps, which create safety risks for other interstate motorists. Historically, agencies have employed.costly and.time intensive manual counting method., camera surveillance, and.d.iver surveys to assess truck parking. Connected.truck d.ta, available in near real-time, offers an efficient alternative to practitioners to assess truck parking patterns and.id.ntify areas where there may be insufficient safe parking spaces. This paper presents a case stud. of interstate I-70 in east central Ind.ana and.d.cuments the observed.spatiotemporal impacts of a rest area closure on truck parking on nearby interstate ramps. Results showed.that there was a 28% increase in parking on ramps d.ring the rest area closure. Analysis also found.that ramps closest to the rest area were most impacted.by the closure, seeing a rise in truck parking sessions as high as 2.7 times. Parking d.ration on the ramps d.ring rest area closure also increased.d.0}stically. Although it was expected.that this would.result in increased.parking by trucks on ad.acent ramps, this before, d.ring, after scenario provid.d.an id.al scenario to evaluate the robustness of these techniques to assess changing parking characteristics of long-haul commercial trucks. The d.ta analytics and.visualization tools presented.in this stud. are scalable nationwid. and.will aid.stakehold.rs in informed.d.ta-d.iven d.cision making when allocating resources toward. improving the nations commercial vehicle parking infrastructure.
