Hydropower developm.nt has becom. an im.ortant driver of habitat loss and fragm.ntation across lowland tropical *** am.le evidence on the detrim.ntal effects of insular habitat fragm.ntation on biodiversity,invertebrate taxa,that m.y be critical to ecosystem.functioning,have been *** assessed the assem.lage-level responses of social wasps to forest insularization induced by the Balbina Hydroelectric Dam.in Central Brazilian *** m.laise trapping,we captured wasps on 27 forest islands and three continuous *** constructed Generalized Linear m.dels and em.loyed a m.del selection approach to exam.ne the im.act of local variables(fire severity(FiRE)and basal area of pioneer tree species(PiONEER))and landscape-scale variables(am.unt of habitat(COVER))on patterns of species richness,com.osition,and body size of wasps.A total of 374 individuals(29 species)were collected across all sam.ling *** was the m.in predictor of species richness,while PiONEER was the only variable that explained variation in com.unity com.osition,with a negative effect on body *** results add evidence to the pervasive im.acts of large hydroelectric dam. on tropical forest biodiversity,and suggest that social wasps,am.ng other invertebrates,can be used as bioindicators in infrastructure developm.nt projects.

This paper theoretically studies the im.urity states and the effects of im.urity concentration and configuration on the optical,electrical,and statistical properties of CdSe nanoplatelets(NPLs).An im.ge charge-based m.del of electron-im.urity interaction is *** charge-carrier energy spectra and corresponding wave functions depending on the im.urity num.er and configuration are *** electron binding energies are calculated for different NPL *** is shown that the im.ge charge-based interaction potential that arises due to the dielectric constants m.sm.tch is m.ch stronger than the interaction potential that does not take such a m.sm.tch into ***,it is dem.nstrated that the binding energies are increasing with the num.er of *** calculate the canonical partition function using the energy levels of the electron,which in turn is used to obtain the m.an energy,heat capacity,and entropy of the non-interacting electron *** therm.dynam.c properties of the non-interacting electron gas that depend on the geom.tric param.ters of the NPL,im.urity num.er,configuration,and tem.erature are studied.

As hydropower developm.nt expands across lowland tropical forests,flooding and concom.tant insular fragm.ntation have becom. im.ortant threats to *** created insular landscapes serve as natural laboratories to investigate biodiversity responses to *** of these m.st iconic landscapes is the Balbina Hydroelectric Reservoir in Brazilian Am.zonia,occupying>400000 ha and com.rising>3500 forest ***,we synthesise the current knowledge on responses of a wide range of biological groups to insular fragm.ntation at *** has largely concentrated on a set of 22 islands and three m.inland *** total,39 studies were conducted over nearly two decades,covering 17 vertebrate,invertebrate,and plant *** species responses varied according to taxonom.c group,island area was consistently included and played a pivotal role in 66.7%of all studies exam.ning patterns of species *** persistence was further affected by species traits,m.stly related to species capacity to use/traverse the aquatic m.trix or tolerate habitat degradation,as noted for species of vertebrates and orchid *** research is needed to im.rove our understanding of such effects on wider ecosystem.*** im.act Assessm.nts m.st account for changes in both the rem.ining habitat am.unt and configuration,and subsequent long-term.species losses.

Stellar structure m.del in hydrostatic equilibrium.in the context of f(R)-gravity

in this work we present a stellar structure m.del from.the f（R）-gravity point of view capable of describing som. classes of stars（white dwarfs, brown dwarfs, neutron stars, red giants and the Sun）. This m.del is based on f（R）-gravity field equations for f（R） = R ＋ f2R2, hydrostatic equilibrium.equation and a polytropic equation of state. We com.are the results obtained with those found by Newtonian theory. it has been observed that in these system., where high curvature regim.s em.rge,stellar structure equations undergo m.difications. Despite the sim.licity of this m.del, the results are satisfactory. The estim.ted values of pressure, density and tem.erature of the stars are within those determ.ned by observations. This f（R）-gravity m.del has proved to be necessary to describe stars with strong fields such as white dwarfs, neutron stars and brown dwarfs, while stars with weaker fields, such as red giants and the Sun, are best described by Newtonian theory.

The Gabal m.rwa area is located in the southeastern part of Sinai,*** com.rises gneisses and m.gm.tites,granodiorites and ***,petrographic,m.neralogic and chem.cal investigations indicated that the Gabal m.rwa granites are classified as granodiorites and *** m.nzogranites constitute the m.st predom.nant rock unit exposed in the study *** have been subjected to hydrotherm.l alterations,especially along the shear ***,desilicification,nam.tasom.tism.and developm.nt of spotty or dendritic m.nganese oxides are the m.st pronounced alteration *** alterations resulted in the increase of TiO2,Al2O3,FeOt,m.O,CaO,m.O,Na2O,K2O and Cr,Zr,Rb,Y and Sr and the decrease of SiO2,P2O5,Ni,Zn,Ba and *** studies indicated that the altered granites belong to high thorium.high uranium.*** U,Th,U and Th,Th/U,Th and U-K variation diagram. suggested that m.gm.tic processes controlled the distribution of these elem.nts but the effect of hydrotherm.l alteration processes were clearly *** Scanning electron m.croscope and X-ray Diffraction analyses indicated that the m.st im.ortant radioactive m.nerals include uranothorite,thorite,zircon,m.nazite and *** and m. m.nerals were also *** the U,Th,ra and K activity concentrations obtained for all the studied granitic sam.les,radium.equivalent activity(raeq),external hazard index(Hex),and internal hazard index(Hin),were calculated to assess the radiation hazard to hum.n beings living in dwellings m.de of the studied *** m.nzogranites have radioactivity above the proposed acceptable level and,therefore,caution m.st be taken when these granites are used as building m.terials.

Efficient Technique for im.ge Cryptography Using Sudoku Keys

This paper proposes a cryptographic technique on im.ges based on the Sudoku *** is a num.er puzzle,which needs applying defined protocols and filling the em.ty boxes with *** a sm.ll size of num.ers as input,solving the sudoku puzzle yields an expanded big size of num.ers,which can be used as a key for the Encryption/Decryption of *** this way,the given sm.ll size of num.ers can be stored as the prim. key,which m.ans the key is com.act.A prim. key clue in the sudoku puzzle always leads to only one solution,which m.ans the key is always *** feature is the background for the paper,where the Sudoku puzzle output can be innovatively introduced in im.ge *** solution is expanded to any size im.ge using a sequence of expansion techniques that involve filling of the num.er m.trix,Linear X-Y rotational shifting,and reverse shifting based on a standard zig-zag *** crypto key for an im.ge dictates the details of positions,where the im.ge pixels have to be *** is m.de at two levels,nam.ly pixel and sub-pixel(RGB)levels for an im.ge,with the latter having m.re effective *** brought-out technique falls under the im.ge scram.ling m.thod with partial *** m.trics are im.ressive and are given by a Histogram.deviation of 0.997,a Correlation coefficient of 10−2 and an NPCR of 99.98%.Hence,it is evident that the im.ge cryptography with the sudoku kept in place is m.re efficient against Plaintext and Differential attacks.

Natural ray-em.tting radionuclides in Egyptian cem.nt

Sam.les of cem.nt m.nufactured in Egypt and the raw m.terials have been analyzed usinggam.a-spectroscopy, in order to determ.ne the concentration of natural radionuclides and associated radiologicalhazard. The m.an of specific activity due to radionuclides of 226 ra, 232 Th and 40 K was found to be (20±4), (11± 2),(320±18) (gypsum., (41±8), (27±5), (410±27) (clay), (58±11), (18±3), (321±20) (iron ore) and (37.6±6), (11.8±3),(178.6±15) Bq?kg -1 (Portland cem.nt), respectively. 40 K concentration could not be detected in slag, lim.stone, sul-phateresistant cem.nt (S.R.C.), clinker and white cem.nt, while the m.an specific activities of 226 ra and 232 Th are(239±16), (48.7±7); (31.5±5), (10±2); (47±7), (20±5); (23±5), (10.4±3) and (23±5), (11±3) Bq?kg -1 , respectively. Theactivities (concentrations) are in the sam. range as the data released in other countries. The calculated radiation haz-ardparam.ters for all the sam.les are still lower than the acceptable values in Egypt and other countries.
