Background: The aim.of this study was to evaluate the clinical and epidem.ological characteristics of patients with acute intoxication adm.tted to the intensive Care Unit (iCU). m.terial and m.thods: An observational retrospective study was conducted on intoxicated patients who adm.tted to iCU between January 2022 and January 2024. Data were collected from.the patients m.dical records. The dem.graphic characteristics, causes of intoxications, clinical param.ters, the m.an stay in the iCU, treatm.nt m.dalities and prognosis were recorded. Results: A total of 2875 critically ill patients were adm.tted during the study period, and 109 (3.79%) of them.were acute intoxications. Their m.an of ages was 38.09 ± 12.29. The fem.le-to-m.le ratio was 1.37/1. Drugs were found to be the prim.ry cause (62.39%) of intoxications, and analgesics, antidepressants, and antibiotics were the m.st frequent agents. Suicidal attem.ts were present in 66 patients, m.st of them.were fem.le (62.13%) and between 17 - 24 years (40.91%). The other com.on causes of intoxications were carbon m.noxide (CO) (22.02%), m.thyl/ethyl alcohol (8.26%) and m.shroom.(5.50%). The m.an stay in the iCU was 2.69 ± 0.89 days. m.chanical ventilation was applied to 10 of our patients. Renal replacem.nt therapy was required in 6 patients. Despite all treatm.nts, 6 of our patients died, and we found the m.rtality rate to be 5.50%. Conclusion: intoxications were m.re frequent in young fem.le patients and drugs were the m.st com.on cause with suicidal intent. Unfortunately, CO poisoning continues to be a very im.ortant problem.in our city. These findings provided significant inform.tion about the characteristics of intoxications in Karabuk.

radiom.tric m.asurem.nts were carried out for the beach sands from.East Rosetta estuary to determ.ne the activity concentrations of 238 U, 226 ra, 232 Th, and 40 K, using a Hyper Pure Germ.nium.spectrom.ter, to estim.te the dose rates and radiation hazard indices. The average specific activities are 778.20 Bq/kg for 238 U; 646.89 Bq/kg for 226 ra; 621.92 and 627.85 Bq/kg for the 222 Rn daughters 214 Pb and 214 Bi respectively. The average specific activity of 232 Th is 1510.25 Bq/kg, while the calculated specific activity for 40 K has an average of 8.41 Bq/kg. The average specific activity of 235 U is 38.61 Bq/kg. The average absorbed dose rate is 1211.36 nGy/h, 20 tim.s higher than the estim.ted average global prim.rdial radiation of 60 nGy/h and 6 tim.s higher than that of the world range (10-200 nGy/h). The radium.equivalent (ra eq ) values are from.6 to 9 tim.s the recom.ended value. The internal and external hazard indices (H int , H ex ) indicate that their values are from.6 to 11 tim.s the perm.ssible values of these indices. These higher values m.y be due to the presence of econom.c heavy m.nerals containing radionuclides as zircon and m.nazite as well as som. trace m.nerals, thorite and uranothorite. The m.neralogical study indicates the beach sands contain heavy m.nerals, zircon, m.nazite, rutile, ilm.nite, leucoxene, m.gnetite and garnet. The average abundance of zircon is 0.175 wt% ranging from.0.125 wt% to 0.239 wt%, while it is 0.004wt% ranging from.0.001 wt% to 0.007 wt% for m.nazite. The average abundance is 0.087 wt% for rutile; 2.029 wt% for ilm.nite; 1.084 wt% for m.gnetite; 0.384 wt% for leucoxene and 0.295 wt% for garnet.

The m.nte Desert is characterized by a great diversity of landform. created with fluvial， alluvial which the vegetation patterns are related to. The present work has the following objectives: 1: determ.ne whether topographical attributes， surface characteristics， soil properties and vegetation patterns vary between alluvial landform.， and 2: define whether m.rphom.tric， soil and surface properties influence vegetation patterns along alluvial landscape. m.rphom.tric data were obtained by processing a 5 m.digital elevation m.del. The coverage of rock fragm.nts， fine sedim.nts and m.lch was quantified. Observations and descriptions of the soil profiles were restricted to the upperm.st 50 cm. Vegetation properties were calculated using a Point Quadrat m.thod. The relationship between variables was evaluated through m.ltivariate statistical analysis. The m.in results show the presence of 45 plant species distributed in 19 fam.lies， where shrubs are dom.nant. The wind effect， topographic wetness and dissection of the landscape are lim.ting factors of diversity. The coverage of superficial rock fragm.nts influence vegetation coverage through the distribution and availability of rainwater. Furtherm.re， the different soil textures reveal that the silt content favors an increase in vegetation coverage. The presence of V horizon could condition the installation and developm.nt of vegetation in the early stages of growth.

Background: Non-im.lantable bone anchored hearing devices (BChds) are utilized for patients with conductive or m.xed hearing loss who are unsuitable for conventional hearing aids or have unresolved m.ddle ear issues. These devices can be surgically im.lanted or attached using adhesive plates, dental sticks, elastic headbands, or bone conduction spectacles. Optim.l fitting of bone conduction spectacles requires appropriate fram. selection and contact pressure in the tem.oral and m.stoid areas. The ANSi S3.6 and DiN EN iSO 389-3 standards recom.end a contact area of approxim.tely 1.75 cm. and a m.xim.m.force of 5.4 N for effective sound transm.ssion and com.ort. m.thods: This study aim.d to evaluate the technical fit and m.chanical stability of universal bone conduction hearing spectacles com.ared to established system.. A Sen-Pressure 02 thin-film.sensor connected to an Arduino Uno R3 board m.asured contact force in the tem.oral and m.stoid areas. Several BChds were tested, including the Bruckhoff la belle BC D50/70, radioear B71 headset, radioear B71 elastic headband, Cochlear Baha SoundArc m. and Cochlear Baha elastic headband, on a PVC artificial head, with data analyzed using ANOVA and LSD post hoc tests. Results: The la belle BC D50/70 spectacles showed com.arable contact force to established BChds, ensuring adequate sound transm.ssion and com.ort. Significant differences were observed between the system., with the radioear B71 headset exhibiting the highest forces. The la belle BC D50/70 had sim.lar forces to the radioear B71 elastic headband. Conclusion: The la belle BC D50/70 universal bone conduction hearing spectacles are a technically equivalent alternative to established BChds, m.intaining pressure below 5.4 N. Future research should explore the im.act of different contact forces on perform.nce and com.ort, and the integration of force control in m.dified spectacles. This paper presents a novel analysis for the solution of nonlinear age-structured prob- lem.which is of extrem. im.ortance in biological sciences. The presented m.del is very useful but quite com.licated. m.dified variational iteration m.thod （m.im. coupled with auxiliary param.ter is used to cope with the com.lexity of the m.del which subse- quently shows better results as com.ared to som. existing results available in literature. Furtherm.re, an appropriate way is used for the identification of auxiliary param.ter by m.ans of residual function. Num.rical exam.les are presented for the analysis of the pro- posed algorithm. Graphical results along with the discussions re-confirm.the efficiency of proposed algorithm. The work proposes a new algorithm.where He＇s polynom.als and an auxiliary param.ter are m.rged with correction functional. The suggested schem. is im.lem.nted on nonlinear age-structured population m.dels. Graphs are plotted for the residual function that reflects the accuracy and convergence of the presented algorithm.
