Social-ecological correlates of fundamental movement skills in young children

Purpose: To identify the social-ecological correlates associated with fundamental movement skills at the child, family, and environment levels in young ***: Preschool children from 4 Colorado Head Start/preschool centers were recruited from 2010 to 2012. Two hundred twenty-eight children(128 girls; age = 56.08 § 4.09 months; body mass index(BMI) z-score = 0.53 § 1.12(mean § SD); 42.1% Hispanic/latino) and 159 families were included in the final analysis. Children's perceived competence and fundamental movement skills were assessed via the Pictorial Scale of Perceived Competence and Social Acceptance and the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, 2 nd edition. Data on the number of children in the family, parent age, BMI, education, employment status, family income, perception of child coordination, and home physical activity environment were collected via a questionnaire. linear regressions adjusted for child BMI, age, sex, and school site were performed at each ***: Child perceived cognitive competence was positively associated with locomotor skills(p = 0.04; adjusted R2= 0.035) and object-control skills(p = 0.003; adjusted R2= 0.083) at the child level. Parent education, BMI, and perception of child coordination were positively associated with locomotor skills and explained 8.8% of variance, but only parent education was significant(p = 0.04) at the family level. In addition, physical environment was positively associated with locomotor skills(p = 0.02) and explained 5.5% of variance at the environment ***: Social-ecological correlates associated with young children's fundamental movement skills are multidimensional and differ according to skill category at the child, family, and environment levels.

Fragile X mental retardation protein interacts with TDG

Fragiie X syndrome is the most common form of inherited mental retardation disease, resulting from absent of expression of its disease gene FMR1. To study the function of the fragiie X mental retardation protein (FMRP) through protein/protein interaction, a mouse embryo cDNA library was screened by the yeast two-hybrid system. A clone was found to interact specifically with FMRP. The cDNA of this clone ( Genbank accession number af102875 ) encoded a protein highly homologous to human G/T mismatch-specific DNA thymine glycosylase ( hTDG ). Interactions between various alternatively spliced FMRP isoforms and a series of mTDG deletion proteins were further studied in the yeast two-hybrid system and their interaction amino acid regions were determined. interaction between FMRP and TDG existed inside exon 13 of FMRP ( amino acid residue 397-425 ) and around amino acid residue 122-346 of TDG. These results will be helpful to the study of the biological role of FMRP.

【目的】本研究旨在明确寄主转换经历是否会改变亚致死浓度杀虫剂对稻纵卷叶螟Cnaphalocrocis medinalis生长发育和繁殖的影响,为杀虫剂的合理使用及稻纵卷叶螟的综合治理提供理论依据。【方法】从稻纵卷叶螟水稻种群和小麦种群中收集卵,并将其分别转换寄主植物饲养至2龄,作为具有不同寄主转换经历处理的幼虫[以水稻为食的水稻种群(R-R)、以小麦为食的水稻种群(R-W)、以小麦为食的小麦种群(W-W)和以水稻为食的小麦种群(W-R)]。利用离体叶片浸渍法对这些幼虫在亚致死浓度(lC_(25))阿维菌素和毒死蜱浸渍下的水稻或小麦叶片处理后48 h,测定3-5龄幼虫生长发育及成虫繁殖能力和寿命。【结果】未经杀虫剂处理时,寄主转换显著影响稻纵卷叶螟3-5龄幼虫总历期、化蛹率和蛹重,但对水稻种群和小麦种群的影响相反。lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素和毒死蜱处理2龄幼虫,显著延长3-5龄幼虫总历期,但延长程度因寄主转换经历而异。lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素显著降低各寄主转换经历幼虫的化蛹率(R-R组除外)。lC_(25)浓度毒死蜱仅显著降低W-W组的化蛹率。在2龄幼虫暴露于lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素后W-W和W-R组的蛹重显著降低。水稻种群化蛹率和蛹重受寄主转换的影响在lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素处理后消失,而小麦种群化蛹率和蛹重受寄主转换的影响在lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素和毒死蜱处理后均消失。无论是何种寄主转换经历还是lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素和毒死蜱处理均未影响成虫羽化率、交配率和单雌产卵量。寄主转换处理只显著影响未经杀虫剂处理时水稻种群的卵孵化率,但卵孵化率均未受lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素和毒死蜱处理影响。与未经杀虫剂处理相比,lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素和毒死蜱处理均未影响雌成虫寿命,但lC_(25)浓度毒死蜱处理显著增加了W-W组雄成虫寿命。【结论】寄主转换经历会影响阿维菌素和毒死蜱对稻纵卷叶螟的亚致死效应。lC_(25)浓度阿维菌素和毒死蜱处理经历寄主转换的稻纵卷叶螟幼虫后,其幼虫和蛹生长发育均受到不同程度影响,但成虫繁殖和寿命所受影响较小。使用针对稻纵卷叶螟的杀虫剂时和进行毒理实验时应考虑到寄主植物的潜在影响。

Assessing the Digital Divide Status of the Jordanian Telecentre

This study investigates the status of digital divide amongst Jordanian Telecentres. The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of the perceived usefulness, the perceived ease-of-use and the facilitating conditions on the behavioral intention of employees. In addition, the study investigates the effect of the three mentioned factors on the user acceptance while the behavioral intention on the user acceptance is used as a mediating factor. The proposed research model was validated by distributing 150 survey questionnaires to the Telecentres in Jordan. Structural equation modeling (SEM) technique was used to analyze the results. One of the main limitations of this study is that the results cannot be universal since the study was limited to Jordan. Similar study needs to be conducted in different courtiers to either support or negate our results.

Various forms of complementary and alternative medicine are used in *** these,herbal medicines are frequently used as systemic and/or topical interventions either as a replacement for or in conjunction with conventional *** benefit of such use is *** review is to provide an up-to-date review and discussion of the clinical evidence for the main kinds of herbal therapies for *** of the biomedical databases PubMed（including MEDlINE）, EMBASE and CINAHl were conducted in December 2011 which identified 32 clinical studies,all published in *** of these primarily tested topical herbal medicines and were thus *** 12 studies that evaluated systemic use of herbal medicines were included in the *** were case series studies and the other 8 were controlled *** terms of interventions,4 studies tested the systemic use of plant oils combined with marine oils and 8 studies tested multi-ingredient herbal *** clinical evidence for plant and animal derived fatty acids is inconclusive and any benefit appears to be *** the multi-herb formulations,benefits of oral herbal medicines were shown in several studies,however,a number of these studies are not controlled trials,a diversity of interventions are tested and there are methodological issues in the controlled *** conclusion,there is promising evidence in a number of the studies of multi-herb ***,well-designed,adequately powered studies with proper control interventions are needed to further determine the benefits of these *** addition,syndrome differentiation should be incorporated into trial design to ensure effective translation of findings from these studies into Chinese medicine clinical practice.

Developing safer and more efficient hydrogen storage technology is a pivotal step to realizing the hydrogen economy. Owing to the lightweight, high hydrogen storage density and abundant reserves, MgH_(2) has been widely studied as one of the most promising solidstate hydrogen storage materials. However, defects such as stable thermodynamics, sluggish kinetics and rapid capacity decay have seriously hindered its practical application. This article reviews recent advances in catalyst doping and nanostructures for improved kinetic performance of MgH_(2)/Mg systems for hydrogen release/absorption, the tuning of their thermodynamic stability properties by alloying and reactant destabilization, and the dual thermodynamic and kinetic optimization of the MgH_(2)/Mg system achieved by nanoconfinement with in situ catalysis and ball milling with in situ aerosol spraying, aiming to open new perspectives for the scale-up of MgH_(2) for hydrogen storage applications.

Manuscript received 24 June 1999 The Fe Al P alloy deposits were plated on copper sheets by electroless plating. The change law of the deposition rate, composition, surface appearance and structure for the deposits was studied by changing the metallic salt ratios (AlCl 3/AlCl 3+FeSO 4), the concentration of metallic salt AlCl 3 and reductant NaH 2PO 2. The optimum plating bath was obtained. It was found that the choices of ligand and reductant were the key of increasing Al content for the deposits.

Kanatsu-Shinohara and colleagues continue to reveal the secrets of the rare mammalian spermatogonial stem cells. Their most recent study offers a new approach by applying principles from hematopoietic stem cell research to demonstrate that cells which form a cobble- stone-like underlay beneath testicular somatic cells in culture are spermatogonial stem cells. Utilization of mouse models and cell cultures shows how the chemokine, CXCl12, fits into the signalling cascade which governs the fate of these cells and hence is essential to male fertility.

ARIMA: An Applied Time Series Forecasting Model for the Bovespa Stock Index

Due to the relative uncertainty involved with the variables which affect financial market behavior, forecasting future variations in a time series of the Brazilian stock market Index (Ibovespa) can be considered a difficult task. This article aims to evaluate the performance of the model ARIMA for time series forecasting of Ibovespa. The research method utilized was mathematical modeling and followed the Box-Jenkins method. In order to compare results with other smoothing models, the parameter of evaluation MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) was used. The results showed that the model utilized obtained lower MAPE values, thus indicating greater suitability. This therefore demonstrates that the ARIMA model can be used for time-series indices related to stock market index forecasting.

Screening and validation of nickel ion cytotoxicity biomarkers based on transcriptomic and proteomic technology

The aimof this study was to screen cytotoxicity biomarkers of nickel ions(Ni^(2+))using transcriptomic and proteomic approaches combined with molecular biology ***,the MTT method was used to evaluate cytotoxicity in l929 cells treated with Ni^(2+)at different ***^(2+)at both 100μM and 200 lMaffected cell ***,transcriptomic and proteomic technology was used to study the effects of Ni^(2+)on the expression of genes/proteins in *** was found that 1490,789,652 and 729 genes(12,24,48 and 72 h,respectively)and 177,2191 and 2095 proteins(12,24 and 48 h,respectively)were differentially expressed after treatment with 100μM Ni^(2+).In total,1403,963,916 and 1230 genes(12,24,48 and 72 h,respectively)and 83,1681 and 2398 proteins(12,24 and 48 h,respectively)were differentially expressed after treatment with 200μMNi^(2+).Then,four target gene/protein biomarkers were filtered by combined screening using gene/proteomic experimental data and biological pathway *** expression level validation of all these target biomarkers and functional validation of selected gene/protein biomarkers were carried out,and a final gene/protein biomarker(UQCRB)was identified.
