Catalytic decomposition of NH3 to high purity hydrogen offers a promising strategy for fuel cells, but presents challenges for high hydrogen yields at comparatively low temperatures due to the lack of efficient catalysts. Here, we report the facile preparation of ultra-fine ruthenium（Ru） species dispersed on Mg O, which show excellent activity and high temperature stability for NH3 decomposition reaction. The hydrogen yield of the prepared Ru/Mg O catalysts reaches ca. 2,092 mmol H2 g–1 Ru min–1 at450 °C, far exceeding that of the previously reported most reactive Ru-based catalysts and the same chemical composition samples prepared by other approaches. Various characterization techniques containing X-ray absorption fine structure（XAFS）,in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy（in-situ DRTFTS） and temperature-programmed reduction/desorption（TPR/TPD） were carried out to explore the structure-function relation of the prepared Ru/Mg O catalysts. We found that the Ru species interact strongly with the Mg O support, which can efficiently protect the Ru species and Mg O support from agglomerating during NH3 decomposition test, maintaining the stability of the catalysts.

An efficient radix-2 fast Fourier transform processor with ganged butterfly engines on field programmable gate arrays

We present a novel method to implement the radix-2 fast Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm on field programmable gate arrays (FPGA).The FFT architecture exploits parallelism by having more pipelined units in the stages,and more parallel units within a *** has the noticeable advantages of high speed and more efficient resource utilization by employing four ganged butterfly engines (GBEs),and can be well matched to the placement of the resources on the *** adopt the decimation-infrequency (DIF) radix-2 FFT algorithm and implement the FFT processor on a state-of-the-art *** results show that the processor can compute 1024-point complex radix-2 FFT in about 11 μs with a clock frequency of 200 MHz.

Refinement of primary Si grains in Al–20%Si alloy slurry through serpentine channel pouring process

In this study, a serpentine channel pouring process was used to prepare the semi-solid A1-20%Si alloy slurry and refine primary Si grains in the alloy. The effects of the pouring temperature, number of curves in the serpentine channel, and material of the serpentine channel on the size of primary Si grains in the semi-solid A1-20%Si alloy slurry were investigated. The results showed that the pouting temperature, number of the curves, and material of the channel strongly affected the size and distribution of the primary Si grains. The pouring tempera- ture exerted the strongest effect, followed by the number of the curves and then the material of the channel. Under experimental conditions of a four-curve copper channel and a pouring temperature of 701℃, primary Si grains in the semi-solid A1-20%Si alloy slurry were refined to the greatest extent, and the lath-like grains were changed into granular grains. Moreover, the equivalent grain diameter and the average shape coefficient of primary Si grains in the satisfactory semi-solid A1-20%Si alloy slurry were 24.4 μm and 0.89, respectively. Finally, the re- finement mechanism and distribution rule of primary Si grains in the slurry prepared through the serpentine channel pouring process were analyzed and discussed.

The thermal behavior of [Tb_2( m -MBA)_6(phen)_2](H_2O)_2( m -MBA=C_8H_7O_2, methoxybenzoate; phen=C_ 12 H_8N_2, 1,10-phenanthroline) in static air atmosphere was investigated by means of TG-DTG and DTA methods. The thermal decomposition of the title compound takes place mainly in two steps. The intermediate and the residue for each decomposition were identified by the TG curve. By the kinetic method of processing thermal analysis data put forward by Malek et al ., it is defined that the kinetics model for the first-step thermal decomposition is SB( m,n ).

The regulation of memory effect that the residual charges generated during and after discharge act on the initiation and development of subsequent discharge is explored by adjusting the pulse parameters,which have an influence on the discharge *** memory effect is quantified by the measurement of‘wall voltage’through a series of reference *** influences of memory effect on the discharge properties corresponding to rising/falling time50–500 ns,pulse width 0.5–1.5μs,and frequency 200–600 Hz are *** is found that the‘wall voltage’increases from 1.4 kV to 2.4 kV with rising/falling time from 50 ns to 500 ns,it varies in the range of 0.18 kV with frequency of 200–600 Hz,and 0.17 k V with pulse width of 0.5–1.5μ*** propagation velocity of wavelike ionization under the negative pulse slows down from 2184 km s-1to 1026 km s-1 as the rising/falling time increases from 50 ns to 500 ns due to the weakening of the electric field by the surface memory *** intense and uniform emission can be achieved through faster rising/falling time and higher frequency based on the volume memory effect,while pulse width has less influence on the emission ***,similar laws are obtained for spectral and discharge ***,the memory effect is most effectively regulated by rising/falling time,and the discharge properties are affected by the surface and volume memory effect.

V_(2)O_(5),which has multicolor and energy storage properties,is a promising electrochromic material for multifunctional electrochromic devices,but its practical application is limited by its poor lifespan and long switching *** this work,high-performance V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)films were fabricated by spraying a V_(2)O_(5)solution on in situ-grown TiO_(2)*** to the porous structure formed between the TiO_(2)nanorods and the remarkable electron transfer performance of TiO_(2),the switching time of the V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)films ***,the strong adhesion between the TiO_(2)nanorods and F-doped tin oxide(FTO)glass and the increased surface roughness of the substrates significantly improved the cycling stability of the V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)*** a large transmittance modulation(47.8%at 668 nm),fast response speed(τ_(c)=5.1 s,τ_(b)=4.2 s),and long lifespan,V_(2)O_(5)/TiO_(2)films were used as electrodes for the electrochromic energy storage device(EESD),which switched in six colors through color overlay:dark orange,sandy yellow,green-yellow,yellow-green,dark green,and dark *** by pixel displays,EESDs were designed by segmenting V_(2)O_(5)films to stagger the display of the electrochromic and ion storage layers,which presented 11 types of information based on different combinations of *** work provides inspiration for developing multifunctional electrochromic devices,especially for camouflage and information displays.
