Therapeutic potential of ethyl acetate fraction of Tephrosia purpurea *** in a rat model of gout

Objective: The present study is to determine the potential treatment effects of ethyl acetate fraction of Tephrosia purpurea Linn. leaves(EATP) against ***: Gout in experimental rats was induced with potassium oxonate at the dose of 250 mg/kg(intraperitoneal injection) for 7 consecutive days;EATP was administered 1 h after administration of the potassium oxonate on each day of experiment. Potassium oxonate was discontinued on the 8 th day;thereafter allopurinol(10 mg/kg, p.o.) and EATP(200 and 400 mg/kg, p.o.) were continued until day 14. The uric acid level was measured from serum and urine during the experiment. Other biochemical parameters were assessed, including blood and urine creatinine, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and total protein. Blood urea nitrogen, serum aspartate aminotransferase serum alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase were also measured. The blood was analyzed for levels of malondialdehyde and the antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione *** and radiological changes in the ankle of rats were observed after completion of the ***: EATP was able to decrease serum uric acid and creatinine level;it also reduced inflammation,oxidative stress and lysosomal enzyme level, which has a role in acute inflammation. EATP increased uric acid excretion through urine due to its uricosuric ***: EATP lowered the serum uric acid level and increased the urine uric acid level through excretion, which is useful in the treatment of gout. Hence the EATP was found to be helpful in the treatment of gout.

Liver cancer is the fifth most common cancer and one of the leading causes of death in the world, and second most common cause of death in men. Natural products emerge as the most enduring approaches in the development of anticancer targeting drug. Hesperetin(HP), one of the abundant flavonoids found naturally in citrus fruits, has received considerable attention in anti-cancer promotion and progression. The present study was conducted to decipher the role of 0.5 ml hesperetin conjugated gold nanoparticles(Au-m PEG(5000)-S-HP NPs) during diethylnitrosamine(DEN)-induced hepatocarcinogenesis in male Wistar albino rats and shows the better antioxidant that possesses anti-inflammatory,anti-proliferation and anticarcinogenic properties and may modulate signaling *** confirmation of polymer functionalized gold nanoparticles and drug loaded polymer gold nanoparticles were characterized by HR-TEM with EDAX, and DLS with Zeta potential techniques. The drug encapsulation efficiency and release properties were carried out in PBS at pH 7.4 for Au-mPEG(5000)-S-HP and compared with the control pure hesperetin(HP).Here, we review the role of mast cell counts, tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF-α), transcription factor nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB), levels of glycoconjugates, proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA) and argyrophilic nucleolar organizing regions, are the master regulator of inflammation and proliferation, in the development of hepatocellular injury, liver fibrosis and HCC. DEN-administered animals showed increased mast cell counts, tumor necrosis factor alpha, transcription factor nuclear factor-κB, glycoconjugates, proliferating cell nuclear antigen, and argyrophilic nucleolar organizing regions. Whereas Au-mPEG(5000)-S-HP NPs supplementation considerably suppressed all the above abnormalities. Pyricularia oryzae anamorph of Magnaporthe oryzae is one of the most notorious fungal pathogens causing severe economic loss in rice production worldwide. Various methods, viz. cultural, biological and molecular approaches, are utilized to counteract this pathogen. Moreover, some tolerant or resistant rice varieties have been developed with the help of breeding programmes. Isolation and molecular characterization of different blast resistance genes now open the gate for new possibilities to elucidate the actual allelic variants of these genes via various molecular breeding and transgenic approaches. However, the behavioral pattern of this fungus breakups the resistance barriers in the resistant or tolerant rice varieties. This host-pathogen barrier will be possibly countered in future research by comparative genomics data from available genome sequence data of rice and M. oryzae for durable resistance. Present review emphasized fascinating recent updates, new molecular breeding approaches, transgenic and genomics approaches(i.e. mi RNA and genome editing) for the management of blast disease in rice. The updated information will be helpful for the durable, resistance breeding programme in rice against blast pathogen.

Heavy quark systems (c and b ) have been studied in the nonrelativistic framework using energy dependent interquark potential of the form harmonic oscillator with a small linear term as energy dependent as perturbation plus a inverse square potential. This potential admits exact analytical solution of the Schrodinger equation. Mass spectra, leptonic decay width, root mean square radii (), the expectation value of the radius (r) and have been estimated for different quantum mechanical states for and systems. It is observed that energy dependent term in the potential leads to saturation of the mass spectra and degree of saturation is governed by the magnitude of perturbation. The calculated values of leptonic decay widths for 1s state are in very good agreement with the experimental data both for c and b systems.

Geostatistical Analyst for Deciding Optimal Interpolation Strategies for Delineating Compact Zones

Variability maps of Hydraulic conductivity (K) were generated by using geo statistical analyst extension of ARC GIS for delineating compact zones in a farm. In the initial exploratory spatial data analysis, K data for 0 - 15 and 15 - 30 cm soil layers showed spatial dependence, anisotropy, normality on log transformation and linear trend. Outliers present in both layers were also removed. In the next step, cross validation statistics of different combinations of kriging (Ordinary, simple and universal), data transformations (none and logarithmic) and trends (none and linear) were compared. Combination of no data transformation and linear trend removal was the best choice as it resulted in more accurate and unbiased prediction. It thus, confirmed that for generating prediction maps by kriging, data need not be normal. Ordinary kriging is appropriate when trend is linear. Among various available anisotropic semivariogram models, spherical model for 0 - 15 cm and tetra spherical model for 15 - 30 cm were found to be the best with major and minor ranges between 273 - 410 m and 98 - 213 m. The kriging was superior to other interpolation techniques as the slope of the best fit line of scatter plot of predicted vs. measured data points was more (0.76) in kriging than in inverse distance weighted interpolation (0.61) and global polynomial interpolation (0.56). In the generated prediction maps, areas where K was <12 cm?day–1 were delineated as compact zone. Hence, it can be concluded that geostatistical analyst is a complete package for preprocessing of data and for choosing the optimal interpolation strategies.

随着“一带一路”的开展,越来越多的尼泊尔学校开设了汉语课。汉字书写是学生汉语学习道路上的“拦路虎”,因为汉字的结构复杂、笔画繁多,很多学生的汉语学习因此半途而废。因此如何让学生轻松高效地学习汉字十分重要。本文以尼泊尔Apex学校汉语水平零基础的学生为对象,采用“多认少写”汉字教学模式的方法对学生进行了 12周的汉字教学实践,在教学实践过程中对学生的汉字“认读”和“书写”能力进行了测试分析,并针对学生进行了“多认少写”汉字教学模式的反馈调查,在以上基础上,提出针对尼泊尔中学生运用“多认少写”模式进行汉字教学的建议。第一章阐述教学实践对象和教学内容:介绍了尼泊尔加德满都私立学校“Apex Life School”及其九年级汉语零基础的32位学生的基本情况,通过访谈校长、九年级的班主任和中文老师进一步了解该校汉语课开展的具体情况;说明使用人民教育出版社《快乐汉语》第一册作为教材的原因,初步确定的教学思路。第二章介绍“多认少写”汉字教学模式和教学实践的具体过程。包括教认读汉字和书写汉字。笔者重点介绍了汉字书写教学中笔顺、笔画、结构、部首的具体教学过程以及学生在教学过程中习得情况。第三章分析教学过程中三次汉字“认读”和“书写”测试的结果,以及在不同教学阶段的改进、偏误及阻碍。同时,通过先后两次调查问卷,了解学生对于本次汉字教学实践的评价和反馈。第四章根据教学实践过程的测试结果和问卷结果进行了教学反思,同时提出针对尼泊尔零起点中学生的汉字教学建议。
