In Arabidopsis seeds, germination is promoted only by phytochromes, principally phytochrome B （phyB） and phytochrome A （phyA）. Despite the abundant inf.rmation concerning the molecular basis of.phyB signaling downstream of.PIf./PIL5, the signaling network inducing germination by phyA is poorly known. Here, we describe the inf.uence of.phyA on the transcriptome of.Arabidopsis seeds when germination is induced by a f.r-red （f.） pulse. The expression of.11% of.the genome was signif.cantly regulated by phyA. Most of.the genes were up-regulated and the changes noted late （i.e. 5 h af.er a f. pulse）, whereas changes in down-regulated genes were more abundant earlier （i.e. 0.5 h af.er a f. pulse）. Auxin- and GA-associated elements were overrepresented in the genes that were modif.ed by phyA. A signif.cant number of.genes whose expression was af.ected by phyA had not been previously reported to be dependent on PIL5. Among them, homozygotic mutant seeds of.MYB66, a SAUR-like protein, PIN7, and GASA4 showed an impaired promo- tion of.germination by phyA. Natural variation at the transcriptional level was f.und in early signaling and GA metabolic genes, but not in ABA metabolic and expansin genes between Columbia and Landsberg erecta accessions. Although phyA and phyB/PIL5 signaling pathways share some molecular components, our data suggest that phyA signaling is partially independent of.PIL5 when germination is promoted by very low f.uences of.light.

目的:利用玉米油富含亚油酸和其他必需脂肪酸的特性,将其作为反刍动物日粮脂肪酸补充料有利于瘤胃微生物代谢和抑制甲烷气体排放。本试验主要研究玉米油在以下方面的潜在影响:基于总消化率的瘤胃发酵、总挥发性脂肪酸、干物质消化率、有机质消化率和养分降解率;胃肠道甲烷排放,瘤胃溶解氢和溶解甲烷。方法:选取6只健康的6月龄去势浏阳黑山羊(平均体重19 kg)。精/粗饲料比例50:50(DM基础,2%BW),处理组添加3%玉米油(100%浓缩玉米油,金龙鱼,PSN GB191,丰益制造公司,武汉粮油有限责任公司)。交叉试验设计,试验期60天。分为两组,T1组饲喂精料B(98.33%DM、15.82%CP、15.82%EE、16.30 MJ/kg、42.67%NDf.6.95%ADf.3.08%,ADL、7.56%Ash、92.56%ODM和22.8%Starch)并添加3%玉米油和干稻草(99.17%DM、99.17%CP、99.17%EE、15.99 MJ/kg、74.44%NDf.45.83%ADf.28.61%ADL、10.19%Ash、89.89%ODM、和0.64%Starch);T2组饲喂精料A(97.95%DM、16.28%CP、1.01%EE、16.32 MJ/kg、44.59%NDf.7.06%ADf.3.96%ADL、7.90%Ash、92.26%ODM、和24.2%Starch)和干稻草。在研究过程中,精料、稻草、玉米油、粪便和尿液均采集样品用于测定饲料消化率。分别于饲喂后0小时、2.5小时、6小时采集瘤胃液,并利用气相色谱(安捷伦7890 A,安捷伦科技,圣克拉拉市,加州,美国)测定TVf.,NH,dH和dCH水平。山羊CH排放通过呼吸代谢仓测定,用温室气体分析仪(UGGA,NO.915-0011,LGR公司,圣何塞,加州,美国)监测24小时CH气体排放量。使用IBM SPSS 19.0软件线性混合模型进行统计分析,当Pf.浓度;其乙酸、丙酸、丁酸、TVf.浓度,乙丙比和Ac/TVf.显著高于对照组,同时降低Pro/TVf.和IsoV/TVf.(Pf.)(P<0.05)。玉米油处理组显著增加NH浓度(P<0.05)。与对照组相比,玉米油处理组显著降低了提取气体的体积、pH值、瘤胃中dH和dCH(P<0.01)。同时,两组之间生产性能无显著差异,对体增重无影响。结论:在本研究中,玉米油的添加使瘤胃液中总挥发性脂肪酸和丙酸比例增加,NH浓度下降。因此,玉米油的添加被认为是具有一定正面效果的。玉米油倾向于减少乙酸和增加丁酸比例,并不减少总挥发性脂肪酸浓度。本研究中总挥发性脂肪酸浓度和挥发性脂肪酸组分表明,玉米油对发酵的影响取决于补充玉米油的剂量并对挥发性脂肪酸各组分作用不一致。

We aimed to compare Gleason score and tumor laterality between transrectal ultrasound-guided biopsy of.the prostate （TRUSBX） and radical prostatectomy （RP）. Some f.ctors that could cause a discrepancy in results between these two procedures were also evaluated. Among the 318 cases reviewed, 191 cases were selected f.r inclusion in this comparative Study, We divided the patients into two groups using the Gleason score： an intermediate/high-grade group （≥7） and a low-grade group （〈6）. Exploratory analyses were conducted f.r comparisons between groups. We also perf.rmed comparisons between TRUSBX and RP f.r tumor laterality. TRUSBX overestimated 6% and underestimated 24% cases in comparison with RP f.r Gleason score, and overestimated 2.6% and underestimated 46% cases compared with RP f.r tumor laterality. Biopsy specimens were slightly smaller in TRUSBX cases with underestimated tumor laterality （P〈 0.05）, and no relationship between the biopsy specimen size and underestimated Gleason score in TRUSBX was f.und. Prostatic volume showed no statistical correlation with the likelihood of.under or overestimation （P 〉 0.05）. Thus, our study showed that TRUSBX has a high likelihood of.underestimating both the Gleason score and tumor laterality in prostate cancer （PCa）. The size of.the f.agment appears to be an important f.ctor inf.uencing the likelihood of.laterality underestimation and Gleason score overestimation via TRUSBX. Due to the high likelihood of.underestimation of.the Gleason score and tumor laterality by 12-core prostate biopsy, we conclude that this type of.biopsy should not be used alone to guide therapy in Pca.

Background: Urea pretreatment is an ef.icient strategy to improve f.ber digestibility of.low quality roughages f.r ruminants. Nitrate and oil are usually used to inhibit enteric methane(CH4) emissions f.om ruminants. The objective of.this study was to examine the combined ef.ects of.urea plus nitrate pretreated rice straw and corn oil supplementation to the diet on nutrient digestibility, nitrogen(N) balance, CH4 emissions, ruminal f.rmentation characteristics and microbiota in goats. Nine f.male goats were used in a triple 3 × 3 Latin Square design(27 d periods). The treatments were: control(untreated rice straw, no added corn oil), rice straw pretreated with urea and nitrate(34 and 4.7 g/kg of.rice straw on a dry matter [DM] basis, respectively, UN), and UN diet supplemented with corn oil(15 g/kg soybean and15 g/kg corn were replaced by 30 g/kg corn oil, DM basis, UNCO).Results: Compared with control, UN increased neutral detergent f.ber(NDf. digestibility(P f.protozoa(P f.butyrate(-18.2%, P f.protozoa(P f.digestibility(+8.3%, P f.rice straw pretreated with urea plus nitrate and corn oil supplementation of.the diet improved f.ber digestibility and lowered enteric CH4 emissions without negative ef.ects on N retention. These strategies improved the utilization of.rice straw by goats.

Data gathered f.om the 1987 National Nutrition Survey in the Philippines provided the opportunity to study the interactions among micronutrient def.ciencies and undernutrition in dif.erent age groups as basis f.r program targeting. A randomly selected set of.50% of.the households (3,200) covered by the national survey served as source of.subjects. Results showed that there was a greater proportion of.anemia among the undernourished (as judged by weight f.r age in children and weight f.r height in adults) (66.0%)than among the adequately nourished (54.6%) (P f.erencesin the proportion of.serum vitamin A def.ciency and of.goiter among the undernourished compared to the adequately nourished were not signif.cant. Also not signif.cant were the observed higher prevalence of.anemia among subjects with acceptable serum vitamin A levels f.r both adequately nourished and undernourished, and the higher prevalence of.vitamin A def.ciency among the non-anemics. Again there were no signif.cant dif.erences in the prevalence of.anemia among goitrous and non-goitrous subjects, as well as the prevalence of.goiter among anemic and non-anemic subjects. Neither were there signif.cant dif.erences in the prevalence of.vitamin A def.ciency among goitrous and non-goitrous subjects, but there were signif.cant dif.erences in the prevalence of.goiter among vitamin A def.cient and non-vitamin A def.cient subjects among the 7-14 years old and among pregnant and lactating *** study concludes that at the national level, there is apparently an interaction between anemia and protein-energy undernutrition and possibly also between goiter and vitamin A def.ciency in the high-risk age groups, but between anemia on the one hand and goiter and vitamin A def.ciency in the other, perhaps because of.clustering in the latter conditions not f.und in anemia and general undernutrition. The Atlantic f.rest has historically been severely def.rested, and only f.agments currently remain that are subject to a wide variety of.anthropogenic impacts, including edge ef.ects that can cause structural and f.nctional degradation. The Tinguá Biological Reserve-RJ comprises approximately 26,000 hectares of.well-preserved Atlantic f.rest, but it is subject to impacts caused by two canopy openings along oil pipelines. Comparisons were made between pipeline edges and f.rest interiors to evaluate edge ef.ects on the structure and dynamics of.those tree communities. Tree densities were higher along f.rest edges, apparently increasing over time. Tree basal areas, on the other hand, have decreased along edges due to higher mortality rates. Linear canopy opening edges showed higher densities of.small trees, while the interior had more very large trees, indicating changes in successional processes and community structural patterns due to edge ef.ects.
