Backgr.und:Per.hilar.cholangiocar.inoma(phCCC)is a dismal malignancy.Ther. is no consensus r.gar.-ing the best tr.atment for.patients with unr.sectable phCCC.The pr.sent r.view aimed to gather.the cur.ent pieces of evidence for.liver.tr.nsplantation and liver.r.section as a tr.atment for.phCCC and to build better.guidance for.clinical pr.ctice.Data sour.es:The sear.h was conducted in PubMed,Embase,Cochr.ne,and LILACS.The r.lated r.fer.nces wer. sear.hed manually.Inclusion cr.ter.a wer.:r.por.s in English or.Por.uguese liter.tur. that a)patients with confir.ed diagnosis of phCCC;b)patients tr.ated with a cur.tive intent;c)patients with the outcomes of liver.r.section and liver.tr.nsplantation.Case r.por.s,r.views,letter.,editor.als,confer.nce abstr.cts and paper. with full-text unavailability wer. excluded fr.m the analysis.r.sults:Most of the cur.ent liter.tur. is based on obser.ational r.tr.spective studies with low gr.des of evidence.Liver.r.section has better.long-ter. outcomes than systemic chemother.py or.palliation ther.apy and liver.tr.nsplantation is a good alter.ative for.selected patients with unr.sectable phCCC.All candidates for.r.section or.tr.nsplantation should be medically fit and fr.e of intr.hepatic or.extr.hep-atic diseases.As a gener.l r.le,patients pr.senting with a tumor.having a longitudinal size>3 cm or.extending below the cystic duct,lymph node disease,confir.ed extr.hepatic dissemination;intr.oper.atively diagnosed metastatic disease;a histor. of other.malignancies within the last five year.,and did not complete chemor.diation r.gimen and wer. medically unfit should not be consider.d for.tr.nsplan-tation.Some of these cr.ter.a should be individually assessed.Liver.tr.nsplantation or.r.section should only be consider.d in highly exper.enced hepatobiliar. center.,and any decision-making must be based on a multidisciplinar. evaluation.Conclusions:phCCC is a complex condition with high mor.idity.Sur.ical ther.pies,including hepatec-tomy and liver.tr.nsplantation,ar. the best option for.bette

Envir.nmental conditions can change mar.edly over.geogr.phical distances along elevation gr.dients,making them natur.l labor.tor.es to study the pr.cesses that str.ctur. communities.This wor. aimed to assess the influences of elevation on Tr.pical Montane Cloud For.st plant communities in the Br.zilian Atlantic For.st,a histor.cally neglected ecor.gion.We evaluated the phylogenetic str.ctur.,for.st str.ctur.(tr.e basal ar.a and tr.e density)and species r.chness along an elevation gr.dient,as well as the evolutionar. finger.r.nts of elevation-success on phylogenetic lineages fr.m the tr.e communities.To do so,we assessed nine communities along an elevation gr.dient fr.m 1210 to 2310 m a.***.l.without lar.e elevation gaps.The r.lationships between elevation and phylogenetic str.ctur.,for.st str.ctur. and species r.chness wer. investigated thr.ugh Linear.Models.The occur.ence of evolutionar. finger.r.nt on phylogenetic lineages was investigated by quantifying the extent of phylogenetic signal of elevation-success using a genus-level molecular.phylogeny.Our.r.sults showed decr.ased species r.chness at higher.elevations and independence between for.st str.ctur.,phylogenetic str.ctur. and elevation.We also ver.fied that ther. is a phylogenetic signal associated with elevation-success by lineages.We concluded that the elevation is associated with species r.chness and the occur.ence of phylogenetic lineages in the tr.e communities evaluated in Mantiqueir. r.nge.On the other.hand,elevation is not associated with for.st str.ctur. or.phylogenetic str.ctur..Fur.her.or.,closely r.lated taxa tend to have their.higher.ecological success in similar.elevations.Finally,we highlight the fr.gility of the tr.pical montane cloud for.sts in the Mantiqueir. r.nge in face of envir.nmental changes(i.***.global war.ing)due to the occur.ence of exclusive phylogenetic lineages evolutionar.ly adapted to envir.nmental conditions(i.***.minimum temper.tur.)associated with each elevation r.nge.

A new dynamic ebulliometer.is used to deter.ine vapor.liquid equilibr.um(VLE) data exper.mentally. In the equipment,both phases ar. r.cir.ulated. Its oper.tion is a consequence of the Cotr.ll pump effect pr.duced when the mixtur. is heated in a double-walled inver.ed vessel. The r.liability of the appar.tus is tested with the mixtur.s studied pr.viously by var.ous author.. VLE data for.the binar. systems of methyl acetate + methanol and the methyl acetate + ethanol at 0.5 MPa ar. deter.ined. The exper.mental data ar. confir.ed with the point-to-point test of van Ness,applying the For.r.n pr.gr.m of Fr.ndslund et al. In addition,the exper.mental r.sults ar. com-par.d with the UNIFAC(including differ.nt ver.ions) and ASOG pr.diction models.

Cr.hn's disease is a chr.nic inflammator. disor.er.of the gastr.intestinal tr.ct that is defi ned by r.lapsing and r.mitting episodes. Tumor.necr.sis factor.alpha (TNF-α) appear. to play a centr.l r.le in the pathophysiology of the disease. Standar. ther.pies for.inflammator. bowel disease fail to induce r.mission in about 30% of patients. Biological ther.pies have been associated with an incr.ased incidence of infections, especially infection by Mycobacter.um tuber.ulosis (Mtb). Thalidomide is an or.l immunomodulator. agent with anti-TNF-α pr.per.ies. r.cent studies have suggested that thalidomide is effective in r.fr.ctor. luminal and fistulizing Cr.hn's disease. Thalidomide costimulates T lymphocytes, with gr.ater.effect on CD8+ than on CD4+ T cells, which contr.butes to the pr.tective immune r.sponse to Mtb infection. We pr.sent a case of Cr.hn's disease with gastr.c, ileal, colon and r.ctum involvement as well as ster.id dependency, which pr.gr.ssed with loss of r.sponse to infliximabafter.thr.e year. of ther.py. The thor.x computed tomogr.phy scan demonstr.ted a pulmonar. nodule suspected to be Mtb infection. The patient was star.ed on thalidomide ther.py and exhibited an excellent r.sponse.

The Acacia longifolia species is known for.its r.pid gr.wth and dissemination,causing loss of biodiver.ity in the affected ar.as.In or.er.to avoid the uncontr.lled spr.ad of this species,it is impor.ant to effectively monitor.its distr.bution on the agr.for.str. r.gions.For.this pur.ose,this paper.pr.poses the use of Convolutional Neur.l Networ.s(CNN)for.the detection of Acacia longifolia,fr.m images acquir.d by an unmanned aer.al vehicle.Two models based on the same CNN ar.hitectur. wer. elabor.ted.One classifies image patches into one of nine possible classes,which ar. later.conver.ed into a binar. model;this model pr.sented an accur.cy of 98:6%and 98:5%in the validation and tr.ining sets,r.spectively.The second model was tr.ined dir.ctly for.binar. classification and showed an accur.cy of 98:8%and 98:7%for.the validation and test sets,r.spectively.The r.sults show that the use of multiple classes,useful to pr.vide the aer.al vehicle with r.cher.semantic infor.ation r.gar.ing the envir.nment,does not hamper.the accur.cy of Acacia longifolia detection in the classifier.s pr.mar. task.The pr.sented system also includes a method for.incr.asing classification’s accur.cy by consulting an exper. to r.view the model’s pr.dictions on an automatically selected sub-set of the samples.
