Mangrove ecosystems are sites with high biodiversity of benthic fauna, and fiddler crabs(genus Uca) are common benthic fauna in mangroves. The North Sulawesi in Indonesia has a good condition of mangrove while the information of the fiddler crabs is still limited. Manual samplings were conducted in wet, dry and transient seasons at a mangrove in Kema, North Sulawesi to investigate the species composition, density and distribution pattern of fiddler crabs. A total of 168 individuals, subjected to eight species of genus Uca crabs were collected at the mangrove, with U. triangularis having the highest abundance and U. annulipes having the lowest *** densities of fiddle crabs were 27.56 ind./m2, 32.89 ind./m2and 14.22 ind./m2at the seaward, middle and landward zones, respectively, and the density was higher in dry and wet seasons than in transient season.

The stable isotope ratios of nitrogen(δ^(15)N) and carbon(δ^(13)C) were applied in this study to analyze sediment carbon sources and primary food sources of epifauna in an oceanic mangrove forest in tropical North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Proportional contribution of mangrove-derived carbon to the food sources was compared among epifauna belonging to different feeding guilds. The sediment in the mangrove site with a depleted δ^(13)C signature(-28.02‰± 0.24‰) mainly consists of mangrove-derived carbon. Analysis using Bayesian stable isotope mixing model in the R program shows that mangrove-derived carbon can dominate the food sources of a majority of the epifauna(11 out of the total 18 species), especially 2 sesarmid crabs Parasesarma semperi and Sesarma sp., crab Epixanthus dentatus, and snails Terebralia sulcata and Optediceros breviculum, which belong to various feeding guilds. Mangrove-derived carbon has a proportional contribution to the food sources of fiddle crab Tubuca coarctata and 3 littorinid snails(Littoraria spp.) close to that of suspended particulate organic matter. Three planktophagous bivalve species(Anadara antiquata, Anadara sp. and Callista erycina) were found to mainly feed on seagrass-derived materials. Mean proportional contributions of mangrove-derived carbon to the food sources were 50.15%, 59.60%, 46.20% and 27.58% for the carnivorous, omnivorous, phytophagous and planktophagous groups, respectively. The results suggest that mangrove-derived carbon can directly(via grazing plant tissues) or indirectly(via deposit feedings) make an important contribution to the food sources of epifauna in the oceanic mangrove forest where the allochthonous input of organic carbon is low.

Objective: Adolescent reproduction health (ARH) differs greatly based on religions, religious norms, culture, and ethnicities in the Indonesian context. The value of local wisdom was considered too binding, traditional, and outdated, particularly on ARH in agricultural areas. The purpose of the study was to identify the problems, challenges, and needs, specifically for ARH, in the agricultural area of Indonesia. Methods: A qualitative study was performed among 41 communities, including 28 village officials (VOs), 9 community health volunteers (CHVs), and 9 adolescents. The data were collected through in-depth interviews and FGD. An thematic analysis was used to describe the phenomena. Results: This research obtained results regarding ARH in terms of communication patterns, daily behavior, reproductive practices, and hygiene of adolescent reproductive organs, especially in agricultural areas. Conclusions: The differences in the perspective of ARH are influenced by environment, parental roles, religion, ethnicity, and knowledge.

Objective:To evaluate the antibacterial activity of eight plants against methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA),extended spectrum beta-lactamase and carbapenemase-resistant Enterobacteriaceae,which are the most prevalent causes of infections in ***:The antibacterial activity was calculated based on the minimum inhibitory concentration using Mueller-Hinton broth in a microdilution ***:The best antibacterial activity,calculated as minimum inhibitory concentration values,against MRSA was shown by the Kaempferia pandurata(Roxb)(***)extract(256 μg/mL) and the Senna alata(***) extract(512 μg/mL).Phytochemical screening of dried *** leaf and its extract showed the presence of flavonoids,alkaloids,saponins,quinones,tannins and sterols,while dried *** and its extract only showed the presence of flavonoids and sterols/***:*** and *** have the potential to be developed as antibacterial agents,especially against MRSA strain,but further in vivo research and discovery of the mode of its action are still needed to shed light on the effects.

Many cities organize cultural festivals to promote their distinctiveness, boost the local economy, and enhance quality of life. However, urban spaces are packed with visitors on festival days, thus affecting accessibility to pedestrian spaces. This research examined visitor satisfaction with accessibility to pedestrian spaces during special events such as festivals. We particularly focused on the Hakata Dontaku festival, which is celebrated in Fukuoka, Japan. We studied three main elements that affect pedestrian satisfaction and perceived accessibility through walking, namely, safety, mobility, and amenities. We first analyzed previous studies and employed analytical hierarchy process to setup indicators for satisfaction measurement. Second, we determined visitor satisfaction through a survey questionnaire, which was conducted during the Hakata Dontaku festival. Third, we assessed the normality of the data set that was obtained from the questionnaire. Finally, we applied structural equation modeling. Results showed that the proposed model was a good fit, as indicated by the goodness of fit test, and the majority of indicators loaded significant values that supported their constructs. Satisfaction with amenities was found to be the most statistically significant variable that influences visitors＇ perceived accessibility during the Hukata Dontaku festival

The natural convection from a vertical hot plate with radiation and constant flux is studied numerically to know the velocity and temperature distribution characteristics over a vertical hot *** governing equations of the natural convection in two-dimension are solved with the implicit finite difference method,whereas the discretized equations are solved with the iterative relaxation *** results show that the velocity and the temperature increase along the vertical *** influence of the radiation parameter in the boundary layer is significant in increasing the velocity and temperature *** velocity profiles increase with the increase of the radiation *** temperature profiles near the wall plate parallel each other due to the constant heat flux applied to the *** influence of the radiation parameter is significant either in velocity or temperature *** the same time,the effect of the Prandtl number greater than 0.71 is not sensitive to the velocity and temperature variations elsewhere.

Objective:To explore secondary metabolite of bacteria-associated Xestospongia testudinaria from Tanjung Kasuari,Sorong,***:The antimicrobial activities of extracts against two Gram-positive bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus) and three Gram-negative bacteria(Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Eschericia coli and Salmonella typhi) were determined by disk diffusion dilution ***:The test showed that of 15 isolates of symbiont bacteria,6 isolates were successfully isolated and coded,namely,Xp 4.1,Xp 4.2,Xp 4.3,Xp 4.4,Xp 4.5 and Xp *** the six bacterial isolates,isolated Xp 4.2 was found to have more powerful antibacterial activity than any other isolates of symbiont *** activity assay for the n-hexane soluble fractions,ethyl-acetate soluble fractions,and n-buthanol soluble fractions revealed more powerful anti-bacterial activity than any other soluble *** screening showed alkaloid and steroid/triterpenoid,while identification for isolate of Xp 4.2 bacterial showed ***:Metabolites of bacterial associated with marine sponge Xestospongia testudinaria promise to be developed into antibacterial agents.
