This study introduces a two-level strategy for efficient execution of multiple sequence alignment (MSA) of complex heterogeneous sequences. The two levels of the proposed technique are comprised of: designing the discrete firefly algorithm (DFFA) for the formation and implementation of makespan minimisation on parallel machines, followed by performing Ctrie-based caching for pairwise alignment to reduce the load on the data servers for handling multiple queries. The proposed strategy addresses a multi-client problem that aims to acquire the full advantage of the computational power of parallel connected machines. Further, it is shown that the inclusion of Ctrie as caching mechanism successively improves the performance of the system with accretion in several sequences. Performance of proposed DFFA is also compared with discrete versions of four swarm intelligence based algorithms at the criteria of makespan minimisation and the rate of convergence on two kinds of complex and diverse datasets. The work is unique in this sense: it is the first swarm-intelligence-based implementation for the addressed problem;it is so far the first approach for Ctrie based caching of the MSA on the scheduled parallel machines;hybridisation of DFFA with Ctrie for caching the MSA results is also a novel implementation.

The aim of this study was to associate the generation of reactive oxygen species （ROS） with Induced antloxidant responses and disturbed cellular redox environment in the nitrogen-（N）, phosphorus-（P）, or potassium-（K） deftcient mulberry （Morus alba L. var. Kanva-2） plants. The indicators of oxidative stress and cellular redox environment and antioxldant defense-related parameters were analyzed. Oeficlency of N, P or K suppressed growth, accelerated senescence, and decreased concentrations of chloroplastic pigments and glutathione. Lipid peroxidation and activities of superoxide dismutase, ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase were also increased in these N, P, or K deprived plants. Concentration of hydrogen peroxide Increased in plants deficient in N or P. Oeficlency of N or P particularly altered the cellular redox environment as indicated by changes in the redox couples, namely ascorbic acid/total ascorbate decreased in P-, glutathione sulfydryl/total glutathione decreased in N-, and Increased in P-deficient plants. Activity staining of native gels for superoxide dismutase revealed Increased activity as Indicated by Increased intensity of bands, and induction of few new isoforms in P- and K-deficient plants. Oifferences in the patterns of superoxide dismutase isoforms and redox status （ascorbic acid/total ascorbate and glutathlone sulfydryl/total glutathione） Indicate that N-, P-, or K-deficiency altered antioxidant responses to varying extents in mulberry plants.

We reinvestigate the collective effects of the retardation as well as the bending on the Coulomb excitation cross sections and also on the B（E2） strengths of some neutron-rich isotopes using the intermediate energy Coulomb excitation theory. It is found that the B（E2） strengths extracted from the experimental Coulomb excitation cross section data get suppressed approximately by 6%. Furthermore, the obtained B（E2） strengths in the energy range 30-100 MeV/A are found to be in better agreement with the corresponding values known from other sources, than those obtained by using the recoil-corrected relativistic Coulomb excitation theory.

Objective:To find out the anti-mycobacterial potential of Cassia sophera(***),Urtica dioica(***),Momordica dioica,Tribulus terrains and Coccinia indica plants against multidrug resistant(MDR) strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis(***).Methods:Plant materials were extracted successively with solvents of increasing *** extracts were screened for anti-mycobacterial activity against fast growing,non-pathogenic mycobacterium strain,Mycobacterium semegmatis,by disk diffusion *** active extracts were tested against MDR and clinical isolates of *** by absolute concentration and proportion *** active extracts were subjected to bio-autoassay on TLC followed by silica column chromatography for isolation of potential drug ***:Hexane extract of ***(HEUD) and methanol extract of ***(MECS) produced inhibition zone of 20 mm in disc diffusion assay and MIC of 250 and 125μg/mL respectively in broth dilution assay against Mycobacterium *** traction F2 from MECS produced 86%inhibition against clinical isolate and 60%inhibition against MDR strain of ***.F18 from HEUD produced 81%inhibition against clinical isolate and 60%inhibition against MDR strain of *** analysis indicated that anti-mycobacterial activity of MECS may be due to presence of alkaloids or flavonoids and that of HEUD due to ***:*** and *** plant extracts exhibited promising anti-mycobacterial activity against MDR strain of ***. This is the first report of anti-mycobacterial activity form *** study showed possibility of purifying novel anti-mycobacterial compound(s) from *** and ***.

We have studied the single-neutron stripping reaction induced by ^23O on carbon target at beam energy of 72 MeV//A with a motive to analyze its ground state structure. The partial stripping cross sections as well as longitudinal momentum distribution of ^22O core have been calculated within the framework of the eikonal approximation approach. Several core-neutron spin coupling configurations, corresponding to J^π= 1/2 ＋ as ground state spin parity of ^23O, along with their suitable admixtures have been considered. The major outcome of the present work is that the s and d admixed configuration with a large contribution of s state seems to explain the longitudinal momentum distribution data more satisfactorily.

The rise of automation with Machine-Type Communication(MTC)holds great potential in developing Industrial Internet of Things(IIoT)-based applications such as smart cities,Intelligent Transportation Systems(ITS),supply chains,and smart industries without any human ***,MTC has to cope with significant security challenges due to heterogeneous data,public network connectivity,and inadequate security *** overcome the aforementioned issues,we have proposed a blockchain and garlic-routing-based secure data exchange framework,i.e.,GRADE,which alleviates the security constraints and maintains the stable connection in ***,the Long-Short-Term Memory(LSTM)-based Nadam optimizer efficiently predicts the class label,i.e.,malicious and non-malicious,and forwards the non-malicious data requests of MTC to the Garlic Routing(GR)*** GR network assigns a unique ElGamal encrypted session tag to each machine partaking in ***,an Advanced Encryption Standard(AES)is applied to encrypt the MTC data ***,the InterPlanetary File System(IPFS)-based blockchain is employed to store the machine's session tags,which increases the scalability of the proposed GRADE ***,the proposed framework has utilized the indispensable benefits of the 6G network to enhance the network performance of ***,the proposed GRADE framework is evaluated against different performance metrics such as scalability,packet loss,accuracy,and compromised rate of the MTC data *** results show that the GRADE framework outperforms the baseline methods in terms of accuracy,i.e.,98.9%,compromised rate,i.e.,18.5%,scalability,i.e.,47.2%,and packet loss ratio,i.e.,24.3%.

We have studied the effects of the finite range on the fusion and/or breakup of ^6He^＋238U and ^11Li＋^208pb Pb dynamic polarization potential approach. It has been found of the interaction between the fragments of the projectile systems at near barrier energies within the framework of that at near barrier energies the maximum flux is lost to the breakup channel and at energies well above the Coulomb barrier the fusion coupled with the breakup channel opens up, initially with sharp rise and later becoming saturated at energy nearly twice of the Coulomb barrier. Further, it is found that the breakup cross section increases with the increasing range of the interaction between the fragments of the projectile while the fusion coupled with the breakup channel cross section decreases with the increasing range.

Association of periodontal disease with glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes in Indian population

This study aims to investigate the link between glycated hemoglobin and diabetic complications with chronic periodontitis. A total of 207 patients with type 2 diabetes and chronic periodontitis （CP） were divided according to tertiles of mean PISA （periodontal inflamed surface area） scores as low, middle and high PISA groups. Simultaneously a group of 67 periodontally healthy individuals （PH） was recruited. Periodontal examinations, including full-mouth assessment of probing depths （PPD）, bleeding on probing, clinical attachment level and plaque scores were determined. Blood analyses were carried out for glycated hemoglobin （HbA1c）, fasting plasma glucose （FPG）, 2 h post parandial glucose （PPG）. Individuals in PH group had significantly better glycemic control than CP group. Upon one-way analysis of variance, subjects with increased PISA had significantly higher HbA1c levels, retinopathy and nephropathy （P 〈 0.05）. After controlling for age, gender, body mass index （BMI）, socioeconomic status （SES）, family history of diabetes and periodontitis, duration of diabetes, the mean PISA in mm^2, PPD 4-6 mm （%） and PPD ≥7 mm （%） emerged as significant predictors for elevated HbAlc in regression model （P 〈 0.05）. Logistic regression analysis revealed that PISA was associated with higher risk of having retinopathy and neuropathy （odds ratio）. In our study, the association between glycemic control and diabetic complications with periodontitis was observed.

Water distribution network(WDN)leakage management has received increased attention in recent *** of the most successful leakage-control strategies is to divide the network into District Metered Areas(DMAs).As a multi-staged technique,the generation of DMAs is a difficult task in design and implementation(i.e.,clustering,sectorization,and performance evaluation).Previous studies on DMAs implementation did not consider the potential use of existing valves in achieving the *** this work,a methodology is proposed for detecting clusters and reducing the cost of additional valves and DMA sectorization by considering existing valves as much as *** procedure of DMAs identification has been divided into three stages,i.e.,a)clusters identification;b)sectorization or boundaries optimization and c)performance evaluation of the partitioned *** proposed methodology is evaluated on a simple network and a real-world water network with the findings provided and compared to the DMAs,established for a raw water network with no existing *** is found that there is an adequate difference in cost of strategy implementation in both the cases for the network under consideration and the existing valve system achieved better network performance in terms of resilience index.
