Innovations in endoscopic ultrasound for portal hypertension and its role in managing complications in clinical practice:Lessons learned from a tertiary referral public hospital

Portal hypertension(Ph)poses significant *** paper presents an innovative study on the utilization of endoscopic ultrasound(EUS)for both the diagnosis and management of *** at *** mangunkusumo National General hospital in Jakarta,this retrospective case series included patients diagnosed with Ph through clinical examination,imaging evaluation,and *** criteria comprised a history of reduced blood consumption within the last 5 days,hepatocellular carcinoma,massive ascites,or elevated international normalized ratio(>1.4).EUS-guided portal pressure gradient(PPG)measurements were performed using an innovative standard *** study involved 15 patients,with 14 having liver cirrhosis and 1 diagnosed with Budd–Chiari *** th.m,nine patients experienced bleeding due to gastroesophageal *** and large esophageal varices were identified in four and eight patients,*** varices type 1 were observed in two patients,and type 2 in four *** gastric fundal varices type 1 were present in one *** on EUS-PPG measurements,14 patients exhibited clinically significant portal *** patients underwent endoscopic band ligation and three underwent EUS-guided cyanoacrylate injection during the same session as the EUS-PPG measurement ***,no adverse events,such as abdominal pain,perforation,or bleeding were observed during or after the *** emerges as a promising and accurate tool for both diagnosis and management.

Influence of Sanitization Process on maintaining Sweet Potato Quality for Export

The whole cold-chain for exporting sweet potato(native variety“Abees”),to foreign market included immediate curing operation directly after harvest helped in healing skin texture,however,in order to reduce postharvest soft rot(Rhizopus stolonifer)incidence following trimming,and washing,ultraviolet light(UV-C)treatment was used as a main sanitizer for eliminating the soft *** of the roots to UV-C(254 nm)was applied in a UV-C room on freshly harvested and cured sweet potato while rolling up on a movable line at 20 cm distance for 1,2,and 3 *** combining UV-C treatment with chlorine(200 ppm)on roots,marked and significant reduction of the total microbial load and Rhizopus potential was achieved on root surfaces respectively compared with chlorine *** also reduced soft rot percentage to almost 0%*** 3 months of cold-storage,quality assessment of sweet potato showed that root characteristics were markedly *** ability of UV-C light to induce phenylalanine ammonia lyase(PAL)enzyme activity in root tissue and maintain the activities of peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase,however with slight increase,was ***-C caused an increase of phenol content in sweet potato tissue that made an activation of defense reaction against the rot causal *** the exposure time to UV-C light increased,a higher content of phenols ***,UV-C application caused decrease in sugar content of root tissue that is flavored by soft rot-causal pathogen.

Data processing method for aerial testing of rotating accelerometer gravity gradiometer

A novel method for noise removal from the rotating accelerometer gravity gradiometer (mAGG) is presented. It introduces a head-to-tail data expansion technique based on the zero-phase filtering principle. A sch.me for determining band-pass filter parameters based on signal-to-noise ratio gain, smoothness index, and cross-correlation coefficient is designed using the Chebyshev optimal consistent approximation theory. Additionally, a wavelet denoising evaluation function is constructed, with the dmey wavelet basis function identified as most effective for processing gravity gradient data. The results of hard-in-the-loop simulation and prototype experiments show that the proposed processing method has shown a 14% improvement in the measurement variance of gravity gradient signals, and the measurement accuracy has reached within 4E, compared to other commonly used methods, which verifies that the proposed method effectively removes noise from the gradient signals, improved gravity gradiometry accuracy, and has certain technical insights for high-precision airborne gravity gradiometry. © 2024 Editorial Department of Journal of Chinese Inertial Technology. Sickle Cell Anemia(SCA)is a prevalent genetic condition in Saudi Arabia,particularly in the Jazan *** study’s purpose was to assess the prevalence of de-pression among individuals with SCA in this area and to identify the factors associated with this *** study involved 391 adult participants,all patients in the h.matology center of Prince moh.mmed bin Nasser hospital(PmNh).Data was collected through an anonymous interview questionnaire–the Arabic version of the Patient health Questionnaire-9(PhQ-9)–between march.may *** questionnaire covered socio-demographic information and variables related to the participant’s SCA history,such as pain levels,frequency of pain,hospitalization duration,and frequency of blood *** variables underwent Chi-square and One-way ANOVA testing,followed by multivariate *** study found a 42%prevalence of depression among the SCA *** significantly linked with heightened depression levels included being widowed or divorced,experiencing frequent and severe pain,and longer duration of hospital *** educational level of at least a bachelor’s degree was also a significant *** study reveals a high prevalence of depression among SCA patients in the Jazan *** underscores the need for policymakers to educate both physicians and patients about the importance of mental health in SCA *** study also highlights the need for more research into the specific causes and effects of depressive symptoms in SCA patients to inform the creation of effective management plans.

On an isotropic porous solid cylinder:the analytical solution and sensitivity analysis of the pressure

Within this work,we perform a sensitivity analysis to determine the influence of the material input parameters on the pressure in an isotropic porous solid *** provide a step-by-step guide to obtain the analytical solution for a porous isotropic elastic cylinder in terms of the pressure,stresses,and elastic *** obtain the solution by performing a Laplace transform on the governing equations,which are those of Biot's poroelasticity in cylindrical polar *** enforce radial boundary conditions and obtain the solution in the Laplace transformed domain before reverting back to the time *** sensitivity analysis is then carried out,considering only the derived pressure *** analysis finds that the time t,Biot's modulus m,and Poisson's ratio ν have the highest influence on the pressure whereas the initial value of pressure P_(0) plays a very little role.

We propose a new signaling sch.me for on-chip optical-electrical-optical artificial neural networks that utilizes orthogonal delay-division multiplexing and pilot-tone-based self-h.modyne *** sch.me offers a more efficient scaling of the optical power budget with increasing network *** simulations,based on220 nm silicon-on-insulator silicon photonics technology,suggest that the network can support 31×31 neurons,with 961 links and freely programmable weights,using a single 500 m W optical comb and a signal-to-noise ratio of 21.3 d B per ***,it features a low sensitivity to temperature fluctuations,ensuring that it can be operated outside of a laboratory *** demonstrate the network’s effectiveness in nonlinear equalization tasks by training it to equalize a time-interleaved analog-to-digital converter(ADC)architecture,achieving an effective number of bits over 4 over the entire 75 Ghz ADC *** anticipate that this network architecture will enable broadband and low latency nonlinear signal processing in practical settings such as ultra-broadband data converters and real-time control systems.

Spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas account for the majority of spinal vascular *** are typically located in the thoracolumbar region and are diagnosed in the middle-aged and elderly *** spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas have been postulated to be acquired,their exact development remains ***,the arteriovenous shunt is situated close to the spinal nerve root,inside the dura mater,where the blood from the radiculomeningeal artery and radicular vein *** history,there have been multiple classification systems of spinal arteriovenous shunts since *** were mainly based on the evolution of diagnostic studies as well as the treatment of these *** classification systems have undergone significant changes over the *** intracranial dural arteriovenous fistula,spinal dural arteriovenous fistula is progressive in *** neurological manifestations,due to venous congestion,tend to be insidious as well as *** include sensory deficits,such as paresthesia,bilateral and/or unilateral radicular pain affecting the lower limbs,and gait *** dural arteriovenous fistulas can be suspected on magnetic resonance imaging/magnetic resonance angiography and confirmed by digital subtraction angiography(DSA).The management includes surgery,endovascular therapy,and in selected cases,*** treatment goal of spinal dural arteriovenous fistula is to halt the progression of the *** prognosis depends on both the duration of symptoms as well as the clinical condition prior to *** present article comprehensively reviews the pathophysiology,changes in classification systems,natural history,clinical manifestations,radiological features,management,and prognosis.
