Investigation of nanocrystalline structure in selected carbonaceous materials

The structural parameters of nine Indian coals were determined by X-ray diffraction （XrD） and Kaman spectroscopy. The study revealed that the coals contain crystalline carbon of turbostratic structure with amorphous carbon. The stacking height （Lc） and interlayer spacing （rico2） of the crystallite structure of the coals ranged from 1.986 to 2.373 nm and from 0.334 to 0.340 nm, respectively. The degree of graphitization was calculated to range from 42% to 99%, thereby confirming the ordering of the carbon layers with the increase in coal rank. An exponential correlation was observed among the aromaticity （fa）, the lateral size （La）, and the rank （I20/I26）, suggesting that the coal crystallites are nanocrystalline in nature. A very strong correlation was observed between the structural parameters （fa, d002, Lc, the H/C ratio, and I20/I26）, the volatile matter content, and the elemental carbon content, indicating the structures of coals are controlled by the degree of contact metamorphism. The raman spectra exhibited two prominent bands： the graphitic band （G） and the fn＇st-order characteristic defect band （D）. The deconvolufion resulted in five peaks： G, D1, D2, D3, and D4. The intense D1 band, which appeared at -1350 cm^-1, corresponds to a lattice vibration mode with Alg symmetry. The D2 mode, which appeared at -1610 cm^-1, arises from the structural disorder as a shoulder on the G band.

Millions of tonnes of agro-industrial waste are generated each year globally,with the vast majority of it going untreated,underutilized,and disposed of by burning or landfilling,causing severe environmental distress and economic downturn.A practical solution to this global issue is to use green chemistry to convert this waste into value-added ***,in the present study,agro-industrial orange peel waste was valorized into fluorescent nanodiamond-like carbon sensor via a green route involving hydrothermal treatment of microwave carbonized orange peel *** developed sensor,used for the fluorescence detection of potentially hazardous drug atropine sulfate,exhibits unique dual linearity over concentration ranges of 300 nM to 1 M and from 1 M to 10 M,as well as ultra-low sensitivity of 34.42 nM and 356.46 nM,***,the sensor demonstrates excellent reproducibility,high stability,and satisfactory recovery when used to identify and quantify atropine sulfate in biological samples and commercially available pharmaceuticals,indicating promising multidisciplinary applications.

Crowd behaviors analysis is the‘state of art’research topic in the field of computer vision which provides applications in video surveillance to crowd safety,event detection,security,*** presents some of the works related to crowd behavior detection and *** crowd behavior detection,varying density of crowds and motion patterns appears to be complex occlusions for the *** work presents a novel crowd behavior detection system to improve these *** proposed crowd behavior detection system is developed using hybrid tracking model and integrated features enabled neural *** object movement and activity in the proposed crowded behavior detection system is assessed using proposed GSLM-based neural *** based neural network is developed by integrating the gravitational search algorithm with LM algorithm of the neural network to increase the learning process of the *** performance of the proposed crowd behavior detection system is validated over five different videos and analyzed using *** experimentation results in the crowd behavior detection with a maximum accuracy of 93%which proves the efficacy of the proposed system in video surveillance with security concerns.

The performance of CeO2-TiO2 photocatalyst for the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 into methanol was studied under visible light irradiation. The as-prepared catalysts were characterized for their structural, textural and optical properties using X-ray diffraction（XrD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS）, nitrogen physisorption analysis, UV-vis spectroscopy and photoluminescence（PL） spectroscopy. The characterization results indicated that the presence of CeO2 stabilized the anatase phase of TiO2, decreased its crystallite size, increased the surface area, reduced the band gap energy and lowered the rate of electron-hole pair recombination. The CeO2-TiO2 photocatalyst showed an increased methanol yield of 18.6 μmol/g under visible light irradiation, compared to the bare TiO2（6.0 μmol/g）.

An exhaustive structural analysis was carried out on three Indian coals （ranging from sub-bituminous to high volatile bituminous coal） using a range of advanced characterization tools. Detailed investigations were carded out using UV-Visible spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy coupled energy dispersive spectroscopy, raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The X-ray and raman peaks were deconvoluted and analyzed in details. Coal crystallites possess turbostratic structure, whose crystallite diameter and height increase with rank. The tJdC ratio plotted against aromaticity exhibited a decreasing trend, confirming the graphitization of coal upon leaching. It is also found that, with the increase of coal rank, the dependency of I20/I26 on La is saturated, due to the increase in average size of sp2 nanoclusters. In raman spectra, the observed G peak （1585 cm^-1） and the D2 band arises from graphitic lattices. In Ir spectrum, two distinct peaks at 2850 and 2920 cm i are attributed to the symmetric and asymmetric -CH2 stretching vibrations. The intense peak at - 1620 cm^-1, is either attributed to the aromatic ring stretching of C=C nucleus.
