The southern part of the Eastern Desert of Egypt—about 30 km southwest of Abu-r.m.d city—is mainly covered by ophiolitic rocks(Sul Hamed), island arc assemblage, younger granites(muscovite granites of Qash Amer and two mica granites of el Sela), and various acidic and basic dikes. Field, petrological, and geochemical studies indicate that the el Sela shear zone has been subject to hydrothermal and supergene alteration such as kaolinization, albitization, sericitization, and hematitization. It is invaded by quartz ENE–WSW veins associated with hydrothermal alteration accompanied by radioactive mineralization. The investigated younger granitic rocks had very low contents of compatible elements, such as Cr, Ni,and Co; and high contents of incompatible elements, such as Zr, and large ion lithophiles, such as Sr, especially in the el Sela shear zone. major oxide and trace element analyses revealed calc-alkaline affinity and peraluminous *** highly differentiated granitic rocks' lower Zr/Hf and higher Y/Ho than the normal ratio are consistent with hydrothermal alteration. most samples had rare earth element(rEE)-patterns with an m-type tetrad effect in the first and fourth segments and a W-type tetrad in the third segment. The average ∑rEE in the studied granites was lower than the world granite average; the ratio of light to heavy rEEs greater. The main radioactive, uranium-bearing, and uraniferous Fe and mn minerals are uranothorite,autunite, uranophane and autunite as compounds, kasolite,columbite, xenotime, uranophane-bearing zircon and jarosite, silver-bearing pyrite, hematite, and autunite-bearing pyrolusite.

AIm:To evaluate the retinal safety of various doses of intravitreal triamcinolone acetonide(TA)in ***:Thirty New Zealand albino rabbits were divided into five groups(six animals each).In group 1(control group),each animal received a single intravitreal injection of 0.1 mL phosphate buffered *** groups2,3,4 and 5,each rabbit received a single intravitreal injection of 4,8,16 and 32mg of TA,*** dose was contained in 0.1 mL phosphate buffered *** ocular examinations were performed before the injection and on the 1st,3rd,10th and 17th postinjection days.A standard dark adapted electroretinogr.m.ErG)was obtained before injection and on the 3rd,10th and 17th post-injection ***17d,animals were sacrificed and their eyes prepared for pathological ***:By monitoring ErG as a functional index for the retina,intravitreal injection of 4mg TA showed no significant ErG *** doses of 8,16 and 32,hyper-abnormal responses in a-and b-waves of ErG were detected on the 3rd post-injection *** changes gradually returned back to normal limits *** examination of the retina of all animals showed no pathological ***:High doses of intravitreal TA seemed to have enhancing effects on the retinal function with gradual return to normal limits with no pathological changes detected in examined eyes.

Spinal cord injury r.m.ins a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

Adult size, longevity, egg load dynamics and oviposition ofmicroplitis rufiventris Kok. which began their development in the first, second, third （preferred hosts） or fourth （non-preferred hosts） instar larvae of Spodoptera littoralis （Boisd.） were studied. The parasitoid size was largely determined by the initial host size at parasitism. Non-ovipositing females derived fr.m.older hosts lived for longer periods than those derived fr.m.younger ones. However, the ovipositing females, irrespective of their size, lived for almost the same periods. At emergence, the oviducts of adult females contain a significant amount of mature eggs available for oviposition for a few hours on eclosion day. Egg load increases during the early phase of adult life. The amount of additional mature eggs and rate of egg maturation per hour was greater for wasps derived fr.m.preferred hosts compared with those in females derived fr.m.non-preferred hosts. The pattern of egg production in m. rufiventris females depended on the availability of hosts for parasitization. Host-deprived females depleted the egg complement with aging; the longer the host deprivation, the lower the oviduct egg load. marked reduction in both realized or potential fecundity of host-deprived females was observed following host availability. Host privation for.m.re than 3 days induced a marked deficit fecundity pattern through the female＇ s life. The realized fecundity was determined by the interaction among host availability, the number of eggs that are matured over the female＇ s life span, oviposition rate and host size fr.m.which the female was derived. These results suggest that：（i） m. rufiventris wasp is a weak synovigenic species; （ii） the maturation of additional eggs is inhibited once the maximum oviduct egg load is reached; （iii） the egg load of the newly emerged female is significantly less than the realized fecundity; and （iv） because m. rufiventris females oviposit fewer eggs when they begin depleting their

Plasma ignition threshold of nanoparticle-based and bulk silver targets was measured in air. The plasma was initiated by a Nd:YAG laser at wavelengths of 355, 532, and 1064 nm. The plasma ignition was monitored utilizing the pr.m.nent Ag I line at 546.5 nm. Lower ignition thresholds of the nanoparticle-based silver target were estimated at 0.4?±?0.02, 0.34?±?0.04, and 0.27?±?0.035 J cm^(-2) coupled with the different laser wavelengths, respectively. In contrast, the bulk silver target plasma exhibited an order of magnitude higher ignition threshold. A three orders of magnitude enhanced emission intensity fr.m.the nano-based target over the bulk target was achieved at lower levels of laser irradiation. A reduction of the thermal diffusion length of the nanosilver was assumed in order to theoretically predict this reduction in the plasma threshold. In addition, the effect of self-reversal on the resonance lines was taken into consideration.

mn（Ⅱ）, Co（Ⅱ）, Ni（Ⅱ）, Cu（Ⅱ）, Pd（Ⅱ） and ru（Ⅲ） complexes of Schiff bases derived fr.m.the condensation of sulfaguanidine with 2,4-dihydroxy benzaldehyde （HL1）, 2-hydroxy-l-naphthaldehyde （HL2） and salicylaldehyde （HL3） have been synthesized. The structures of the prepared metal complexes were proposed based on elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal analysis （TGA, DSC and DTG）, magnetic susceptibility measur.m.nts and spectroscopic techniques （Ir, UV-Vis, and ESr）. In all complexes, the ligand bonds to the metal ion through the azomethine nitrogen and a-hydroxy oxygen atoms. The structures of Pd（Ⅱ） complex 8 and ru（Ⅲ） complex 9 were found to be polynuclear. Two kinds of stereochemical geometries; distorted tetrahedral and distorted square py- r.m.dal, have been realized for the Cu（Ⅱ） complexes based on the results of UV-Vis, magnetic susceptibility and ESr spectra whereas octahedral geometry was predicted for Co（Ⅱ）, mn（Ⅱ） and ru（Ⅲ） complexes. Ni（Ⅱ） com- plexes were predicted to be square planar and tetrahedral and Pd（Ⅱ） complexes were found to be square planar. The antimicrobial activity of the ligands and their.m.tal complexes was also investigated against the gr.m.positive bac- teria Staphylococcus aures and Bacillus subtilis and gr.m.negative bacteria, Escherichia coli and Pesudomonas aeruginosa, by using the agar dilution method. Chlor.m.henicol was used as standard compound. The obtained data revealed that the metal complexes are more or less, active than the parent ligand and standard. The X-ray crys- tal structure of HL3 has been also reported.
