metamizole(mZ)is a widely used anti-inflammatory *** to its common use,this contaminant is found in sewage and *** order to reduce the contamination produced by the mZ,we fabricated in this work a photocatalytic composite using recycled polyethylene(rPE)and the CaLaCoO_(9)(LCCO)*** nanoparticles had a microplate-like morphology and sizes of 1.4–5.5μm according to the analysis of *** photocatalytic properties of the LCCO powders were evaluated under ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)irradiation and found a r.m.val efficiency of 96%.When the rPE+LCCO composite was employed for the photocatalytic degradation of mZ,a maximum degradation of 92.5%was *** influence of the pH on the photocatalytic activity was also studied and found that an initial pH=3 produced a total degradation of mZ after 240 min of UV-Vis ***,three reuse cycles were carried out for the pure LCCO powders and for the rPE+LCCO composites and found that the maximum loss of degradation was 5%.Furthermore,scavenger exper.m.nts demonstrated that the super oxide and hydroxyl radicals are formed during the photocatalytic reaction and were responsible for the degradation of ***,the X-ray photoelectron-spectroscopy and r.m.n analysis demonstrated the formation of defects(oxygen vacancies),those ones delayed the electron-hole recombination,which in turn,enhanced the degradation of the ***,the studies performed in this work proved that composites made with recycled plastics and LCCO perovskites are a low-cost and feasible alternative for the cleaning of water sources polluted with pharmaceutical compounds.

Cirrhosis is considered a growing cause of morbidity and mortality,which represents a significant public health ***,there is no effective treatment to reverse *** pr.m.rily centers on addressing the underlying liver condition,monitoring,and managing portal hypertension-related complications,and evaluating the potential for liver transplantation in cases of decompensated cirrhosis,marked by rapid progression and the emer-gence of complications like variceal bleeding,hepatic encephalopathy,ascites,malnutrition,and ***,a prevalent complication across all disease stages,is often underdiagnosed in cirrhosis due to the complexities of nutritional assessment in patients with fluid retention and/or obesity,despite its crucial impact on *** emphasis has been placed on the collaboration of nutritionists within hepatology and Liver transplant teams to deliver compre-hensive care,a practice that has shown to improve *** review covers appropriate screening and assessment methods for evaluating the nutritional status of this population,diagnostic approaches for.m.lnutrition,and context-specific nutrition *** also discusses evidence-based recommendations for supplementation and physical exercise,both essential elements of the standard care provided to cirrhotic patients.

Caseous lymphadenitis (CL) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis (C. pseudotuberculosis) that is transmitted mainly by contact with contaminated exudate wounds. Caseous lymphadenitis affects different species of animals and is considered an occupational zoonotic disease. CL is responsible for important economic losses in the small r.m.nant industry, which include decreased production, damaged quality of milk and wool, reproductive disorders, total or partial confiscation of carcasses, and depreciation of the skin. Caseous lymphadenitis disease can present in two clinical pictures: a skin or superficial picture and a visceral or deep picture. The presumptive diagnosis of CL in the skin is based on the exploration of superficial lymph nodes. These have little value in diagnosing visceral CL, where the main sign is emaciation. The prevention and control of CL involve identifying the skin condition and debriding the abscesses. In addition to the treatment of superficial lesions, the animal facilities must be repaired and adapted. To avoid exposure of negative herds to CL, new animals must be subjected to observation to identify any of the clinical manifestations. Another form of control is vaccination, though only some countries have commercial vaccines. General information on the etiological agent and its characteristics can be used to improve the understanding of this disease.

Quinta monroy is an award-winning co-designed settlement for 93 families on half a hectare of land at Iquique in northern ***,complaints about the disorderly settlement peaked after the landowner^death and provoked untenured residents to seek gover.m.nt subsidies to redevelop the *** 2003,a gover.m.nt social housing project was coordinated by the,,Elementar,architecture firm with US$10,000 per *** the residenfs temporary relocation,93 modular and interlinked apar.m.nts were built around a series of *** apar.m.nts,which were designed as,fhalf-houses,m were subsequently co-opted by residents adding rooms in locations planned in advance by *** households have since doubled the size of their apar.m.nt and reformed the settlement in ways not anticipated by *** paper details a spatial and ethnographic study of the Quinta monroy settlement since redevelopment to identify opportunities and risks that accompany this type of social housing *** study reveals evidence that residents,capacities to enlarge apar.m.nts commonly exceeds the architects expectations and that unregulated expansions often compr.m.se the settlements *** research anticipates further opportunities for expansion in this semi-regulated settlement and investigates possibilities that another contested slum settlement may emerge.

This study investigates the recent near-surface temperature trends over the Antarctic *** make use of available surface observations,ECmWF’s ErA5 and its predecessor ErA-Inter.m.as well as numerical simulations,allowing us to contrast different data *** use hindcast simulations performed with Polar-WrF over the Antarctic Peninsula on a nested domain configuration at 45 km(PWrF-45)and 15 km(PWrF-15)spatial resolutions for the period 1991?*** addition,we include hindcast simulations of KNmI-rACmO21P obtained fr.m.the COrDEX-Antarctica domain(~50 km)for further *** show that there is a marked windward warming trend except during *** windward warming trend is particularly notable in the autumn season and likely to be associated with the recent deepening of the Amundsen/Bellingshausen Sea low and warm advection towards the Antarctic *** the other hand,an overall summer cooling is characterized by the strengthening of the Weddell Sea low as well as an anticyclonic trend over the Amundsen Sea accompanied by northward *** persistent cooling trend observed at the Larsen Ice Shelf station is not captured by ErA-Inter.m.whereas hindcast simulations indicate that there is a clear pattern of windward warming and leeward ***,larger temporal correlations and lower differences exhibited by PWrF-15 illustrate the existence of the added value in the higher spatial resolution simulation.

Cenozoic basin evolution of the Central Patagonian Andes:Evidence fr.m.geochronology, stratigraphy, and geochemistry

The Central Patagonian Andes is a particular segment of the Andean Cordillera that has been subjected to the subduction of two spreading ridges during Eocene and Neogene times. In order to understand the Cenozoic geologic evolution of the Central Patagonian Andes, we carried out geochronologic(U-Pb and^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar), provenance, stratigraphic, sedimentologic, and geochemical studies on the sedimentary and volcanic Cenozoic deposits that crop out in the meseta Guadal and Chile Chico areas(～47°S). Our data indicate the presence of a nearly complete Cenozoic record, which refutes previous interpretations of a hiatus during the middle Eocene-late Oligocene in the Central Patagonian Andes. Our study suggests that the fluvial strata of the Ligorio marquez Formation and the flood basalts of the Basaltos Inferiores de la meseta Chile Chico Formation were deposited in an extensional setting related to the subduction of the Aluk-Farallon spreading ridge during the late Paleocene-Eocene. Geochemical data on volcanic rocks interbedded with fluvial strata of the San Jose Formation suggest that this unit was deposited in an extensional setting during the middle Eocene to late Oligocene. Progressive crustal thinning allowed the transgression of marine waters of Atlantic origin and deposition of the upper Oligocene-lower.m.ocene Guadal Formation. The fluvial synorogenic strata of the Santa Cruz Formation were deposited as a consequence of an important phase of compressive deformation and Andean uplift during the early-middle miocene. Finally, alkali flood basalts of the late middle to late miocene Basaltos Superiores de la meseta Chile Chico Formation were extruded in the area in response to the suduction of the Chile ridge under an extensional regime. Our studies indicate that the tectonic evolution of the Central Patagonian Andes is similar to that of the North Patagonian Andes and appears to differ fr.m.that of the Southern Patagonian Andes, which is thought to have been the s

modulation of gastric accommodation by duodenal nutrients

AIm： To determine the relative potency and contribution of intestinal nutrients to net gastric accommodative relaxation and conscious perception. mETHODS： In 12 healthy subjects, we randomly tested duodenal loads of lipids and carbohydrates （12 mL administered in 4 rain） at various caloric concentrations （0.0125-0.8 kcal/mL） separated by 12-24 rain wash-out periods of saline infusion. maximal gastric relaxation was induced at the end of each exper.m.nt by i.v glucagon （5 μg/kg）, as reference. The reflex gastric response was measured by a barostat, and symptom perception by a 0-6 score questionnaire. rESULTS： Upids induced a dose-response gastric relaxation with a steep and early rise. maximal effect （179±42 mL relaxation） reached at a relatively low concentration （0.2 kcal/mL）, maximal lipid-induced relaxation was 61±6% of the glucagon effect. By contrast, duodenal infusion of carbohydrates induced weaker relaxation that became significant only at the high end of the physiological concentration range （65±14 ml with 0.8 kcal/mL）. Intestinal nutrient loads, either of lipid or carbohydrates, did not induce significant changes in perception （0.6±0.4 and 0.1±0.4 score increase for the highest concentrations, respectively）. CONCLUSION： Chyme entering the small bowel induces nutrient-spedfic gastric relaxatory reflexes by a physiologically saturable mechanism. Normally, neither the intestinal nutrient load nor the gastric accommodative response is perceived.

During sepsis,neutrophil activation induces endothelial cell(EC)dysfunction partly through neutrophil extracellular trap(NET)*** triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cell-1(Tr.m.1)is an orphan immune receptor that amplifies the inflammatory response mediated by Toll-like receptor-4(TLr4)*** the key role of TLr4 signaling in NETosis is known,the role of Tr.m.1 in this process has not yet been ***,we report that Tr.m.1 potentiates NET release by human and murine neutrophils and is a component of the NET *** contrast,pharmacologic inhibition or genetic ablation of Tr.m.1 decreased NETosis in vitro and during exper.m.ntal septic shock in ***,isolated NETs were able to activate ECs and impair vascular reactivity,and these deleterious effects were dampened by Tr.m.1 ***-1 may,therefore,constitute a new therapeutic target to prevent NETosis and associated endothelial dysfunction.

The hair follicle is a biological oscillator that alternates growth,regression,and rest phases driven by the sequential activation of the proliferation differentiation progr.m. of resident stem cell *** activation of hair follicle stem cell niches and subsequent entry into the growing phase is mainly regulated by Wnt/β-catenin signalling,while regression and resting phases are mainly regulated by Tgf-β/Bmp/Smad activity.A major question still unresolved is the nature of the molecular switch that dictates the coordinated transition between both signalling *** we have focused on the role of Endoglin(Eng),a key co-receptor for.m.mbers of the Tgf-β/Bmp family of growth *** an Eng haploinsufficient mouse model,we report that Eng is required to maintain a correct follicle cycling pattern and for an adequate stimulation of hair follicle stem cell *** further report thatβ-catenin binds to the Eng pr.m.ter depending on Bmp ***,we show thatβ-catenin interacts with Smad4 in a Bmp/Eng-dependent context and both proteins act synergistically to activate Eng pr.m.ter *** observations point to the existence of a growth/rest switching mechanism in the hair follicle that is based on an Eng-dependent feedback cross-talk between Wnt/β-catenin and Bmp/Smad signals.
