The application of Li metal anodes in rechargeable batteries is impeded by safety issues arising from the severe volume changes and formation of dendritic Li ***‐dimensional hollow carbon is receiving increasing attention as a host material capable of accommodating Li metal inside its cavity;however,uncontrollable and nonuniform deposition of Li remains a *** this study,we synthesize metal–organic framework‐derived carbon microcapsules with heteroatom clusters(Zn and Ag)on the capsule walls and it is demonstrated that Ag‐assisted nucleation of Li metal alters the outward‐to‐inward growth in the microcapsule ***‐incorporated microcapsules are prepared via chemical etching of zeolitic imidazole framework‐8 polyhedra and are subsequently decorated with Ag by a galvanic displacement reaction between Ag^(+)and metallic *** introduced Ag significantly reduces the energy barrier and increases the reaction rate for Li nucleation in the microcapsule host upon Li *** combined electrochemical,microstructural,and computational studies,we verify the beneficial role of Ag‐assisted Li nucleation in facilitating inward growth inside the cavity of the microcapsule host and,in turn,enhancing electrochemical *** study provides new insights into the design of reversible host materials for practical Li metal batteries.

Background:Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients experience symptoms that may affect their quality of life,treatment outcomes,and *** and managing breast cancer-related symptoms soon after diagnosis is *** purpose of this study was to investigate the associations between health-related fitness(HrF)and patient-reported symptoms in newly diagnosed breast cancer ***:This study utilized baseline data from the Alberta Moving Beyond Breast Cancer Cohort Study that were collected within 90 days of *** measures included peak cardiopulmonary fitness(peak volume of oxygen consumption(VO_(2peak))),maximal muscular strength and endurance,flexibility,and body *** measures included depression,sleep quality,and *** multivariable logistic regression was performed for ***:Of 1458 participants,51.5%reported poor sleep quality,26.5%reported significant fatigue,and 10.4%reported moderate *** multivariable-adjusted models,lower relative VO_(2peak)was independently associated with a greater likelihood of all symptom measures,including moderate depression(pr sleep quality(p=0.009),significant fatigue(p=0.008),any symptom(prated threshold associations with all symptom measures such that all 3 lower quartiles exhibited similar elevated risk compared to the highest *** strength of the threshold associations varied by the symptom measure with odds ratios ranging from-1.5 for poor sleep quality to-3.0 for moderate depression and multiple ***,lower relative upper body muscular endurance was also independently associated with fatigue in a dose-response manner(p=0.001),and higher body weight was independently associated with poor sleep quality in an inverted U pattern(p=0.021).Conclusion:relative VO_(2peak)appears to be a critical HrF component associated with multiple patient-reported symptoms in newly diag

In a recent study published in Nature,Garcia et *** a sophisticated approach to identify fitness-enhancing mutations for T cells that was inspired by cancer evolution.1 The identified CArD11-PIK3r3 gene fusion enhanced tumor rejection and persistence of engineered T cells in multiple tumor models and might have the potential to improve efficacy of adoptive T-cell therapies in cancer patients.

In this paper,we study robust iterative solvers for finite element systems resulting in approximation of steady-state richards’equation in porous media with highly heterogeneous conductivity *** is known that in such cases the contrast,ratio between the highest and lowest values of the conductivity,can adversely affect the performance of the preconditioners and,consequently,a design of robust preconditioners is important for many practical *** proposed iterative solvers consist of two kinds of iterations,outer and inner *** iterations are designed to handle nonlinearities by linearizing the equation around the previous solution *** a result of the linearization,a large-scale linear system needs to be *** linear system is solved iteratively(called inner iterations),and since it can have large variations in the coefficients,a robust preconditioner is ***,we show that under some assumptions the number of outer iterations is independent of the ***,based on the recently developed iterative methods,we construct a class of preconditioners that yields convergence rate that is independent of the ***,the proposed iterative solvers are optimal with respect to the large variation in the physical *** the same preconditioner can be reused in every outer iteration,this provides an additional computational savings in the overall solution *** tests are presented to confirm the theoretical results.

Peptic ulcer and childhood adversities experienced by working-aged people

AIM: To study the association between self-reported peptic ulcer and childhood ***: The Health and Social Support Study (HeS-Sup) population consisted of a stratif ied random sample drawn from the Finnish Population register in four age groups: 20-24, 30-34, 40-44 and 50-54. The survey was carried out by postal questionnaire during 1998, with a response rate of 40.0%. A follow-up questionnaire was sent during 2003 to all those who responded to the f irst. Altogether 19 626 individuals returned the follow-up questionnaire; a response rate of 75.8%. The subjects were asked whether a doctor had told them that they have or have had peptic ulcer. The analyses covered those who responded aff irmatively to both the baseline and the follow-up enquiries (n = 718). Those not re-porting a peptic ulcer in either of the two questionnaires (n = 17 677) were taken as controls. The subjects were further requested (through six questions) to think about their childhood ***: The most common adversities mentioned were long-lasting financial difficulties in the family, serious conflicts in the family, and a family member seriously or chronically ill. All the adversities reported, except parental divorce, were more common among peptic ulcer patients than among controls (P values varied between justed odds ratios (Or) of childhood adversities in the multivariate logistic analysis for self-reported pep-tic ulcer varied between 1.45 and 2.01. Adjusting for smoking, heavy drinking, stress and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug use had no further influence (Ors between 1.22 and 1.73).CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that childhood adversities maintain a connection with and have a predictive role in the development of peptic ulcer.

Background: Infertility affected 10% to 25% of couples globally, and about half of the infertility cases were reported in sub-Saharan Africa. Infertility poses significant social, cultural, and health challenges, particularly for women who often face stigmatization. However, comprehensive and nationally representative data, including prevalence, temporal trends, and risk factors, are lacking, prompting a study in Burkina Faso to address the need for informed policies and programs in infertility care and management. Objectives: This study aims to better understand the spatiotemporal trend of infertility prevalence in Burkina Faso. Methodology: This is a retrospective population-based study of women infertility from healthcare facilities in Burkina Faso, during january 2011 to December 2020. We calculated the prevalence rates of infertility and two disparity measures, and examined the spatiotemporal trend of infertility. results: Over the 10-year period (2011 to 2020), 143,421 infertility cases were recorded in Burkina Faso healthcare facilities, resulting of a mean prevalence rate of 3.61‰ among childbearing age women and 17.87‰ among women who consulted healthcare facilities for reproductive issues (except contraception). The findings revealed a significant increase of infertility, with the prevalence rate varied from 2.75‰ in 2011 to 4.62‰ in 2020 among childbearing age women and from 13.38‰ in 2011 to 26.28‰ in 2020 among women who consulted healthcare facilities for reproductive issues, corresponding to an estimate annual percentage change of 8.31% and 9.80% respectively. There were significant temporal and geographic variations in the prevalence of infertility. While relative geographic disparity decreased, absolute geographic disparity showed an increasing trend over time. In this study,high entropy metallic glasses(HEMGs)were developed through a combination of concepts for designing metallic glasses(main element+transition metal+metalloid element)and high-entropy alloys(more than five elements,each element having an atomic concentration between 5 at.%and 35 at.%).The developed metallic glass alloys are composed of Co-Fe-Ni main elements,transition metals(Cr,Mo)and metalloid elements(C,B).Moreover,the present work reports the thermal,mechanical and magnetic properties of(CoFeNi)(50)(CrMo)(50-x)(CB)x alloys with x=20,25,*** developed as-spun HEMGs exhibit typical paramagnetic properties even for a high amount of ferromagnetic elements(Co,Fe,and Ni)and have high elastic modulus(103–160 GPa)and hardness(14–27 GPa),thus possessing mechanical properties similar to well-known Co-based metallic glasses(Co-Cr-Mo-C-B system).In addition,some of the bulk samples prepared with a diameter of 2 mm form bulk metallic glasses with a high compressive strength around 3.5 *** mechanisms determining the stability of the supercooled liquid,as well as the paramagnetic and mechanical properties for the developed non-equiatomic HEMGs,are discussed.
