The study aimed to assess the clinical, laboratory, and blood gas analysis of horses undergoing Marcha training and the effects of voluntary ingestion of hydroelectrolytic and energy replenishers after exercise. Eight horses of both genders aged between 5 and 10 years, were included in the study. The exercise consisted of a 10-min warm-up followed by 45 min uninterrupted Marcha on a flat dirt track in the morning. After exercise, the horses received one of the following treatments: Drinking water (control group);Hydroelectrolytic and energy replenisher containing sodium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium acetate, magnesium chloride, sodium citrate, dextrose, maltodextrin, and sucrose in three different concentrations (replenishers A, B, and C). The horses were distributed across the four treatments in a 4 × 4 Latin Squares design using a Split-plot system with 48-hr intervals. Clinical and laboratory evaluations were conducted at four time points: T0 - 5 min before exercise;T1 - up to 5 min after exercise;T2 - 2 hr after starting treatment;and T4 - 4 hr after beginning treatment. Concentrations of urea, creatinine, lactate, phosphorus, and ionized calcium significantly changed after exercise. An increase in blood pH and a decrease in chloride concentrations were observed when replenishers B and C were offered after exercise. The replacements were ingested spontaneously by the animals in a volume greater than that of the control group (water). replacement B was the most ingested by the animals, demonstrating its greatest potential.

Purpose: The present study aimed to investigate the reliability of the non-exhaustive double effort(NEDE) test in running exercise and its associations with the ventilatory thresholds(VT_1 and VT_2) and the maximal lactate steady state(MLSS).Methods: Ten healthy male adults(age: 23 ± 4 years, height: 176.6 ± 6.4 cm, body mass: 76.6 ± 10.7 kg) performed 4 procedures:(1) a ramp test for VT_1 and VT_2 determinations measured by ratio of expired ventilation to O_2 uptake(VE/VO_2) and expired ventilation to CO_2 output(VE/VCO_2) equivalents, respectively;(2) the NEDE test measured by blood lactate concentration(NEDE_(LAC)) and heart rate responses(NEDE_(Hr));(3) a retest of NEDE for reliability analysis; and(4) continuous efforts to determine the MLSS intensity. The NEDE test consisted of4 sessions at different running intensities. Each session was characterized by double efforts at the same running velocity(E1 and E2, 180 s), separated by a passive recovery period(90 s rest). LAC and Hr values after E1 and E2(in 4 sessions) were used to estimate the intensity equivalent to"null delta" by linear.f.t. This parameter represents, theoretically, the intensity equivalent to maximal aerobic ***: The intraclass correlation coefficient indicated significant reliability for NEDE_(LAC)(0.93) and NEDE_(Hr)(0.79)(both p re were significant correlations, no differences, and strong agreement with the intensities predicted by NEDE_(LAC)(10.1 ± 1.9 km/h) and NEDE_(Hr)(9.8 ± 2.0 km/h) to VT_1(10.2 ± 1.1 km/h). In addition, despite significantly lower MLSS intensity(12.2 ± 1.2 km/h), NEDE_(LAC) and NEDE_(Hr) intensities were highly correlated with this parameter(0.90 and 0.88, respectively).Conclusion: The NEDE test applied to running exercise is reliable and estimates the VT_1 intensity. Additionally, NEDE intensities were lower but still correlated with VT_2 and MLSS.

Global,fast and accessible monitoring of biodiversity is one of the main pillars of the efforts undertaken in order to revert it *** Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network(GEO-BON)provided an expert-based definition of the biological properties that should be monitored,the Essential Biodiversity Variables(EBVs).Initiatives to provide indicators for EBVs rely on global,freely available remote sensing(rS)products in combination with empirical models and field data,and are invaluable for decision *** this study,we provide alternatives for the expansion and improvement of the EBV indicators,by suggesting current and future data from the European Space Agencýs COPErNICUS and explore the potential of rS-integrated Dynamic Global Vegetation Models(DGVMs)for the estimation of *** review found that mainly due to the inclusion of the Sentinel constellation,Copernicus products have similar or superior potential for EBV indicator estimation in relation to their NASA *** simulate the ecosystem level EBVs(ecosystem function and structure),and when integrated with remote sensing data have great potential to not only offer improved estimation of current states but to provide projection of ecosystem *** suggest that focus on producing EBV relevant outputs should be a priority within the research community,to support biodiversity preservation efforts.

This study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of water depths and potassium fertilizer levels on corn yield for silage. The experimental design was a randomized block design in a split-plot with six water depths based on crop potential evapotranspiration (ETcp) in levels: 0.25;0.50;0.75;1.00;1.25 and 1.50 ETcp, and six amounts of potassium, 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 kg·ha-1, in four replicates. The irrigation system was dripped. Before sowing was applied to the soil to nitrogen (N) and phosphate (P) fertilizers, corn was sown ten days after the fertilization using seeds from hybrid AG 1051. Manual harvesting of ears occurred 67 days after sowing. Production variables observed were fresh matter of plant with (fPMwiths) and without (fPMwithouts) the ears. The fresh matter of plant with and without the ears was influenced significantly by factors analyzed, the 1% level of probability by f test. The water depths in irrigation that maximized the physiological parameters of plants as fPMwiths and fPMwithouts were, respectively, 690 mm and 766.7 mm. The quantitative potassium to maximize physiological parameters of fMP with ears and fMP without ears was, respectively, 104.75 kg ha-1 and 52.1 kg ha-1.

Synthesis and Characterization of a New Cellulose Acetate-Propionate Gel: Crosslinking Density Determination

Crosslinking is one of the most commonly reactions used to improve the physical properties of cellulose derivatives. Cellulose Acetate Propionate (CAP) is a commercial ester obtained as a cellulose derivative and it can be used as basis for the synthesis of crosslinked chains as described in this work. Typical used crosslinkers are di-functional compounds, such as dianhydrides or diisocyanate. The formation of polymeric 3D structures as described in this work occurs typically by the reaction of the linear chains bearing free OH groups with crosslinking agents such as dianhydrides. These reactions are used to make a very absorbent material, typically a gel. The syntheses were performed in homogeneous medium with acetate propionate in a very dry atmosphere by employing PMDA (Pyromellitic Dianhydride) and BTDA (3,3’, 4,4’ Benzophenone Tetracarboxylated Dianhydride) as crosslinking agents in a r.f.ux system. TGA analysis has shown the different thermal stability of the gels when compared with CAP. Typical TGA curves have demonstrated the lower stability of the crosslinked chains when compared to CAP as consequence of esther linkages formed in the gels structures. The Mc, which is the value for the molar mass between crosslinkings points in 3D structure, was determined according to flory-rehner theory. This important parameter has demonstrated greater reactivity of PMDA in comparison with the BTDA in the reactions conditions’ employed in this work.

It is presented that a feasibility assessment of solar preheating of steam boiler.f.ed water.f.r opened vapor systems. Data from a medium sized dairy industry near rio de Janeiro city, in Brazil, is used to compose a case study. forty eight solar heating system computer simulations were carried out in TrNSYS （transient system simulation software）, for a range of design parameters corresponding to the 5% best economic results of a series of 2,700 simpler simulations （φ,f-chart method）, programmed on Matlab. It has been used TMY （typical meteorological year） hourly weather data from rio de Janeiro. Investment cost was composed from both commercial and literature values, while revenue was based on the avoided consumption of fuel for LPG （liquefied petroleum gas）, natural gas and fuel oil, with only the first showing economically feasible. The results, however, made it possible to address environmentally sound public policies to encourage industrial solar energy use.

The effects of fertilization on crambe are poorly understood;in this sense, this study aimed to evaluate the crambe growth under different levels of nitrogen (0, 40, 80, 120 kg·ha-1), phosphorus (0, 50, 100, 150 kg·ha-1), and potassium (0, 30, 60, 90 kg·ha-1) in a greenhouse. The height of the plants, the production of dried biomass and that of 1000 grains of crambe were evaluated. The height of the plants was impaired as a function of increasing doses of nitrogen. The interaction of nitrogen and phosphorus in the crambe crop increased the number of grains and dry shoot biomass. The growth and yield of the crop were not influenced by the use of potassium in mineral fertilization.
