Analyses of wave forces on Wigley and Series 60 ships at forward speed were presented in time domain, which was based on a free surface transient Green function with linearized condition. The main effort was focused on studying the numerical stability of time stepping calculation and water-line integral contribution to exciting forces. Numerical study shows that the stable results can be obtained when a wall-sided assumption is used at stern, and the effect of water-line can be neglected. Time domain calculation was compared with other works. Numerical results for the added resistance CB=0.8 of ship in short waves were presented, based on the assumption that the steady disturbance of ship hull can be neglected.

A S-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat was presented for examination of a subcutaneous mass in his *** mass was firm,non-painful,oval,and approximately 2.5×3.5 cm. Surgical exploration revealed a well-circumscribed,encapsulated *** mass was removed and sectioned for histopathological *** gross section,it was filled with numerous dark *** the mass was consisted of haired skin with dermal cystic structures lined by stratified squamous *** cyst lumen contained squamous debris and filled with keratinous *** hair shafts were extended from the wall of the *** sebaceous and apocrine gland adnexal structures were also observed which confirmed the diagnosis of dermoid *** tumor recurrence was observed after surgery in fallowing *** or subcutaneous cysts of all types are considered rare in cats and to our knowledge this is the third reported case of cutaneous dermoid cyst of cats in veterinary literature which is different from the other cases because it occurred in dorsal midline in tail area whereas other's occurred in flank area.

Using a barotropic, steady and linearised vorticity equation and using 250 hPa observed basic flow and global divergence fifeld ffrom the active summer monsoon phase (00 GMT 26 June-12 GMT 29 June) 1979, the dynamical effects of linear absolute vorticity advection, vorticity generation due to divergence and vorticity dissipation due to frictional damping have been tested to understand their influence on Southern Asiatic High (SAH). The key experimental results art: (1) The SAH, one of the maior planetary-scale disturbances, is generated from the upper basic flow by the forcing of the upper tropospheric divergence over southeast Asia during the active summer monsoon phase, (2) Linear absolute vorticity advection and frictional damping of vorticity play an important role in the determination of the location of the SAH. (3) The destruction and recovery of planetary-scale geostrophic balance is an important mechanism for the west-east oscillation of the SAH.

Intracerebral hemorrhage （ICH） is a stroke subtype caused by spontaneous rupture of small vessels and bleeding into the brain paren- chyma, resulting in cell death and sensorimotor deficits. Despite the greater prevalence of the ischemic form of stroke （87%）, ICH has the highest mortality rate of all stroke subtypes. The striatum is the most affected structure in hemorrhagic stroke （35-70%）, followed by cere- bral cortex （15-30%）, brain stem and cerebellum （5-10%）; patients suffering striatal and/or cortical ICH bear persistent sensorimotor disabilities. Although chronic sensorimotor impairment is established, a considerable amount of patients experience some degree of spontaneous recovery during the first six months after stroke （Qureshi et al., 2009）, and the neurobiological basis of this process is not understood.

The aim of this study was to determine the apparent total tract digestibility(ATTD)of nutrients in cottonseed meal(CSM)and soybean meal(SBM)in simple carbohydrate and more complex wheat-based diets using 2 indigestible markers and total faecal ***-five Large White×Landrace boars(57.8 kg)were randomly allocated to either a pure wheat diet,40%CSM or SBM in either a sugar-starch-(1∶1)or wheat-based diet for 18 ***-insoluble ash(AIA)and chromic oxide(Cr2O3)were included in all diets as indigestible *** were offered(1,800 g/d per pig)in 3 meals/d from d 1 to 11 and 8 meals/d from d 12 to *** d 9,the pigs were moved to individual metabolism cages to allow total faecal *** d 18,the pigs were fed hourly for 8 *** the 8th meal,pigs were anaesthetized and digesta sampled from the terminal ileum and rectum before lethal *** were no differences between ATTD of nitrogen(N)determined using AIA as a marker and measured by total faecal *** the other hand,the ATrD of N of diets containing CSM in sugar-starch-or wheat-based diets and the pure wheat diet determined using Cr2O3 as a marker was less(-3.11%,-4.46%and-6.59%;Pred by total faecal *** ATTD of N determined using AIA as a marker was highly correlated with that measured using total faecal collection(Pr2=0.95).Similarly,the ATTD of N determined using Cr2O3 as a marker was correlated with that measured using total faecal collection,although the correlation was not quite as strong as using AIA(Pr2=0.87).Also,the slope of the regression line and the intercept were closer to unity and zero for the relationship when the ATTD of N was determined using AIA compared to Cr2O3 as an indigestible *** ATTD of organic and dry matter behaved *** data demonstrate that the basal diet and choice of indigestible marker can substantially influence the ATTD and that the use of AIA as an indigestible marker is more suita

BACKGrOUND:Developments in information technology(IT)have driven a push in healthcare innovation in the emergency department(ED).Many of these applications rely on mobile technology(MT)such as smartphones but not everyone is comfortable with MT *** study aims to characterize the technology usage behavior of users in the ED so as to guide the implementation of IT interventions in the ***:A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the emergency department of a tertiary *** and their caregivers aged 21 and above were *** survey collected demographic information,technology usage patterns,and participant reported comfort level in the usage of *** performed descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regression to identify factors differentially associated with comfort in usage of ***:A total of 498 participants were recruited,and 299(60%)were *** was the most commonly written and read language(66.9%)and 64.2%reported a comfort level of 3/5 or more in using *** that were associated with being comfortable in using MT include having a tertiary education,being able to read and write English,as well as being a frequent user of *** were more likely to display these ***:A large proportion of ED patients are not comfortable in the usage of *** that predicted comfort level in the usage of MT were common amongst *** interventions should take this into consideration in the design of MT interventions.

Through research for image compression based on wavelet analysis in recent years, we put forward an adaptive wavelet decomposition strategy. Whether sub-images are to be decomposed or not are decided by their energy defined by certain criterion. Then we derive the adaptive wavelet decomposition tree (AWDT) and the way of adjustable compression ratio. According to the feature of AWDT, this paper also deals with the strategies which are used to handle different sub-images in the procedure of quantification and coding of the wavelet coefficients. Through experiments, not only the algorithm in the paper can adapt to various images, but also the quality of recovered image is improved though compression ratio is higher and adjustable. When their compression ratios are near, the quality of subjective vision and PSNr of the algorithm are better than those of JPEG algorithm.

The power of a healthy lifestyle for cancer prevention:the example of colorectal cancer

Objective:We aimed to directly compare the estimated effects of adherence to a healthy lifestyle with those of risk predisposition according to known genetic variants affecting colorectal cancer(CrC)risk,to support effective risk communication for cancer ***:A healthy lifestyle score(HLS)was derived from 5 lifestyle factors:smoking,alcohol consumption,diet,physical activity,and body *** association of lifestyle and polygenic risk score(PrS)(based on 140 CrC-associated risk loci)with CrC risk was assessed with multiple logistic regression and compared through the genetic risk equivalent(GrE),a novel approach providing an estimate of the effects of adherence to a healthy lifestyle in terms of percentile differences in ***:A higher HLS was associated with lower CrC risk(4,844 cases,3,964 controls).Those adhering to all 5 healthy lifestyle factors had a 62%(95%CI 54%-68%)lower CrC risk than those adhering to≤2 healthy lifestyle *** estimated effect of adherence to all 5 compared with≤2 healthy lifestyle factors was as strong as the effect of having a 79 percentile(GrE 79,95%CI 61-97)lower *** association between a healthy lifestyle and CrC risk was independent of PrS level but was particularly pronounced among those with a family history of CrC in≥1 first-degree relative(P-interaction=0.0013).Conclusions:A healthy lifestyle was strongly inversely associated with CrC *** large GrE indicated that CrC risk determined by polygenic risk may be offset to a substantial extent by adherence to a healthy lifestyle.
