The objective of this paper is to propose a conceptual framework stimulating the sustainable management of natural resources in Central Africa. Based on the forest resources, we show how good identification and allocation of property rights strengthen the joint management of forest resources. Cameroon is selected as an example, since the country represents one of the most forest-intense areas in Africa. In doing so, we first evaluate the performance of institutions in fostering sustainable forest management. Second we show how good elaboration and allocation of property rights may contribute to improving efficiency in forest management. Using the New Institutional Economic (NIE) theory we provide an outline of the potential relationships between forest management and property rights allocated to stakeholders involved in forest exploitation. Finally we provide two forms of institutional structures that could improve forest management efficiency: public-private partnership and multi-stakeholder management approaches. Public-private partnerships are joint project management processes operated by both private businesses and public entities in order to combine public prescriptive mechanisms with private operational roles. Multi-stakeholder management approach is also a co-management initiative combining public entities, private actors and local population to increase the involvement of local dwellers living in forest areas in the decision process.

Thermoelectric(TE)performance of Ca_(3)Co_(4)O_(9)(CCO)has been investigated extensively via a doping strategy in the past ***,the doping sites of different sublayers in CCO and their contributions to the TE performance remain unrevealed because of its strong correlated electronic *** this work,Sr and Ti are chosen to realize doping at the[Ca_(2)CoO_(3)]and[CoO_(2)]sublayers in *** was found that figure of merit(ZT)at 957 K of Ti-doped CCO was improved 30% than that of undoped CCO whereas 1 at% Sr doping brought about a 150% increase in ZT as compared to undoped *** significant increase in electronic conductivity and the Seebeck coefficient are attributed to the enhanced carrier concentration and spin-entropy of Co^(4+) originating from the Sr doping effects in[Ca_(2)CoO_(3)]sublayer,which are evidenced by the scanning electron microscope(SEM),raman,Hall,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)***,the reduced thermal conductivity is attributed to the improved phonon scattering from heavier Sr doped Ca site in[Ca_(2)CoO_(3)]*** findings demonstrate that doping at Ca sites of[Ca_(2)CoO_(3)]layer is a feasible pathway to boost TE performance of CCO material through promoting the electronic conductivity and the Seebeck coefficient,and reducing the thermal conductivity *** work provides a deep understanding of the current limited ZT enhancement on CCO material and provides an approach to enhance the TE performance of other layered structure materials.

A theoretical analysis of the electricity production of a photovoltaic solar power plant of 22 MW for different sites in Senegal is presented. The study is carried out in two coastal regions (Dakar and Saint-Louis) and two continental regions (Mbacké and Linguère). This study is done using the rET Screen clean energy project management software climate data. The amount of electricity exported to the grid is calculated for each site. The results show that the climatic conditions of the coastal and continental regions are different from November to June. From July to October, which corresponds to the rainy season in Senegal, the climatic conditions of the coastal and continental regions are similar. The results also show that although the efficiency of photovoltaic modules is better on the coast, electricity production varies little from one site to another. Climate conditions in Senegal therefore have no impact on electricity production.

We have recently discovered a unique CD34loCD133lo cell population in the human fetal liver （FL） that gives rise to cells in the hepatic lineage. In this study, we further characterized the biological functions of FL CD341~CD133~~ cells. Our findings show that these CD341~CD133I~ cells express markers of both endodermal and mesodermal lineages and have the capability to differentiate into hepatocyte and mesenchymal lineage cells by ex vivo differentiation assays. Furthermore, we show that CD34~~CD 133I~ cel Is express growth factors that are important for human hematopoietic stem cell （HSC） expansion： stem cell factor （SCF）, insulin-like growth factor 2 （IGF2）, C-X-C motif chemokine 12 （CXCL12）, and factors in the angiopoietin-like protein family. Co-culture of autologous FL HSCs and allogenic HSCs derived from cord blood with CD34loCD133lo cells supports and expands both types of *** findings are not only essential for extending our understanding of the HSC niche during the development of embryonic and fetal hematopoiesis but will also potentially benefit adult stem cell transplantations in clinics because expanded HSCs demonstrate the same capacity as primary cells to reconstitute the human immune system and mediate long-term hematopoiesis in vivo. Together,CD34loCD133lo cells not only serve as stem/progenitor cells for liver development but are also an essential component of the HSC niche in the human FL.

The endangered Asian tapir(Tapirus indicus)is threatened by large-scale habitat loss,forest fragmentation and increased hunting *** planning for this species,however,is hampered by a severe paucity of information on its ecology and population *** present the first Asian tapir population density estimate from a camera trapping study targeting tigers in a selectively logged forest within Peninsular Malaysia using a spatially explicit capture-recapture maximum likelihood based *** a trap effort of 2496 nights,17 individuals were identified corresponding to a density(standard error)estimate of 9.49(2.55)adult ta-pirs/100 *** our results include several caveats,we believe that our density estimate still serves as an important baseline to facilitate the monitoring of tapir population trends in Peninsular *** study also highlights the potential of extracting vital ecological and population information for other cryptic individual-ly identifiable animals from tiger-centric studies,especially with the use of a spatially explicit capture-recapture maximum likelihood based framework.
