Magnetically impelled arc butt(MIAB) welding is a pressure welding process used for joining of pipes and tubes with an external magnetic field affecting arc rotation along the tube circumference. In this work, MIAB welding of low alloy steel(T11) tubes were carried out to study the microstructural changes occurring in thermo-mechanically affected zone(TMAZ). To qualify the process for the welding applications where pressure could be up to 300 bar, the MIAB welds are studied with variations of arc current and arc rotation time. It is found that TMAZ shows higher hardness than that in base metal and displays higher weld tensile strength and ductility due to bainitic transformation. The effect of arc current on the weld interface is also detailed and is found to be defect free at higher values of arc currents. The results reveal that MIAB welded samples exhibits good structural property correlation for high pressure applications with an added benefit of enhanced productivity at lower *** study will enable the use of MIAB welding for high pressure applications in power and defence sectors.

This paper aims to propose monthly models responsible for the theoretical evaluation of the global horizontal irradiance of a tropical region in India which is Sivagangai situated in Tamilnadu. The actual measured global horizontal irradiance hails from a 5 MW solar power plant station located at Sivagangai in Tamilnadu. The data were monitored from May 2011 to April 2013. The theoretical assessment was conducted differently by employing a programming platform called Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express. A graphical user interface was created using Visual Basic 2010 Express, which provided the evaluation of empirical parameters for model formulation such as daily sunshine duration （5）, maximum possible sunshine hour duration （S0）, extra terrestrial horizontal global irradiance （H0） and extra terrestrial direct normal irradiance （G0）. The proposed regression models were validated by the significance of statistical indicators such as mean bias error, root mean square error and mean percentage error from the predicted and the actual values for the region considered. Comparison was made between the proposed monthly models and the existing normalized models for global horizontal irradiance evaluation.

Objectives:To examine the level of successful aging and the relationship between successful aging and activities of daily living(ADL),life satisfaction,social support,income,and self-efficacy among community-dwelling elderly in Wenzhou,***:A descriptive correlational design was *** were community-dwelling elderly in 4 districts of Wenzhou,*** random sampling was used to recruit 83 *** participants were screened using the Mini-Cog *** were collected using 6 questionnaires such as a demographic questionnaire,the Successful Aging Inventory(SAI),the Barthel Index for ADL,the Satisfaction With Life Scale(SWLS),the Social Support rating Scale(SSrS),and the General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES).Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation ***:The results showed that 53%of the participants had a higher level of successful aging and 43.4%had a moderate level of successful aging with a mean score of 56.76(standard deviation[SD]=12.31).Factors such as elderly income(r=0.73,Pr=0.72,Prrelations with successful aging,whereas ADL(r=0.67,Pr=0.63,Prt(r=0.36,Prate correlations with successful ***:There was a significant positive correlation between successful aging and ADL,life satisfaction,social support,income,and self-efficacy among community-dwelling elderly in Wenzhou,*** findings may guide the formulation of more effective health education and intervention measures to improve successful aging among the elderly.

A mathematical model of potentiometric and amperometric enzyme electrodes is discussed. The model is based on the system of non-linear steady-state coupled reaction diffusion equations for Michaelis-Menten formalism that describe the concentrations of substrate and product within the enzymatic layer. Analytical expressions for the concentration of substrate, product and corresponding flux response have been derived for all values of parameters using Homotopy analysis method. The obtained solution allow a full characterization of the response curves for only two kinetic parameters (The Michaelis constant and the ratio of overall reaction and the diffusion rates). A simple relation between the concentration of substrate and products for all values of parameter is also reported. All the analytical results are compared with simulation results (Scilab/Matlab program). The simulated results are agreed with the appropriate theories. The obtained theoretical results are valid for the whole solution domain.

Mathematical models of steady-state biofilteration are discussed. The theoretical results are much useful for the design of biofilters. This model is based on the system of non-linear reaction/diffusion equations contains a non-linear term related to Monod kinetics, Andrews kinetics, interactive model from Monod kinetics and Andrews kinetics. Analytical expression of concentration of VOC (Volatile organic compounds) and oxygen are derived by solving the system of non-linear equations using Adomian decomposition method (ADM) method. Our analytical results are also compared with the simulation results. Satisfactory agreement is noted.

The advanced communication system uses wireless broadband access technologies which provide high speed data connectivity to the subscribers. One of the most popular wireless access technology is Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and it is based on IEEE 802.16 standard. WiMAX used Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an effective modulation technique to improve the timing synchronization. The performance of channel is affected due to the synchronization mismatching between the transmitter and receiver ends. To achieve the timing synchronization in IEEE 802.16 systems, the cross correlator is used to synchronize the received signal with the known signal. In this paper, two high speed correlators are proposed based on Q1.15 format, which is used to validate the timing synchronization problem. The proposed work has been mapped on XC6VCX75T FPGA and simulations are carried out on the Xilinx-ISIM platform. The implementation result shows that the power delay product reduction is 40.81%, and delay reduction is 39.59% over the conventional multiplier less correlators.
